WOW! I've never seen anything like that before. The team must have been seriously mismanaged. Was this using any sort of modified database or maybe an extra config file to raise the cap? That's just wild.
Seen this quite often with SM-liiga teams. There's always one of them, who gets stuck at being the last and they keep loosing money year after year, and then this happens.

In 2005 whilst playing Magnitogorsk probably 4 or 5 of the Russian league teams went under new ownership. Interestingly it was all the top teams that had big budget players signed.
