I use Photoshop. I'm sure you can find a free demo on their site somewhere. And it's professional software, so there's a lot to it... but just making logos isn't all that bad. You'll mainly need to know basic stuff like the 'magic wand', resizing, and minor knowledge of 'layers'(the king of all graphic design features ;) ).

But if you want maximum time to do logos and/or practice, you can try GIMP. It's a free program that works quite similarly to Photoshop.

Lastly, if you decide to try either one of these and find it difficult(especially the initial cutting-out of the logo), don't worry - just keep going with it. It can be great once you've got it... because then there's no limit to logo-ing your game. You can even take it one step further and start messing with other graphics and really, really customize your game on your own terms. But watch out, if you're anything like me, you may end up tweaking/testing graphics more than actually playing the game(I still haven't stopped brainstorming with all the rink elements, or my attribute hiding technique). :help:

P.S. The link you posted seems to be broken. :-k

I recently got into modding this game and love it.. graphics modding mostly.

I actually made a tutorial for another game I modded which included the following guide on how to make maps for that game:

http://www.closecombat.org/mmg/

People have used this who literally never done anythign graphically and made some decent maps..

Now Ill make one for logos for this game to hopefully help out. Stinson is right, logos arent to difficult to work with importing into EHM. Of course making them from scratch is different, but when you have great sites like Creamers for logos already existing, or threads like this where people give you alreadys drawn decent sized shots to work with.. its easy after you have done 2 or 3!

I recently started a thread where I made avaialable WHA logos for EHM.. hope its useful!

The fact is this game graphicaliiy is VERY easy to mod.. and maybe with a coupel of good tutorials more peopel can get into it.

That is, until you get to skinning. ;)

...Inflexible graphic sizes; limited element space; seemingly millions of files for one element; broken or ill-functioning .COL lines; one .COL line covering a huge range of text...

Ugh... full skinning becomes a nightmare.

B What Manchester Phoenix logo did you use in your pack, is it this one :http://www.eurohockey.net/logos/uk/mancp.gif
(I haven't hecked out your pack yet as I'm busy with exams!)
Any chance you could do one of the logo that is in my profile.

I just copied all the logos from my 'Huge' logos folder, and used them for the centre ices. So, I'm pretty sure the Manchester logo is just the default one, since I don't recall updating it.

But I'll get on the new one now. Should be up soon.

Hi Starboard. I moved your post here...because somewhere in this thread are the new Canuck logos.

As Stinson pointed out above a simple topic search would have found your logos. :-D

I just used the mag. glass and typed in Canuck logo and low and behold it was the second thread...with the title clearly being: The Official Logos thread.

Anyway, have a look through this thread. The logo is here/

A request to B. Stinson, is it possible that you make a Canucks logo with the Vancouver words on top? Because that seems to be the official logo. Just like the Minnesota wild.
