Hmm.... this is very interesting then. A couple of things pop to mind.
For sure I can put historical coaches ect into the mod.. be cool actually.
The big thing is that earlier int he development of the mod, I had anticipated needing to add EHMBlueline forum regualrs on a team becuaswe i didnt think Id have enough players. In the end I actually DID have enough, so what I might do is add forum people (Who volenteer) to be scouts and other staff. The fine details on entire WHA staff will be thin so Ill need extra bodies for sure!

It's great to be able to see how your mod is progressing by reading your blog. I really wish the blog system was around when I first started this site - it would have been a nice way of writing about the hundreds of hours I have spent designing and modifying TBL. Anyway, I really enjoy reading about how you're going about making your update. I'm thoroughly looking forward to trying out your project. Good luck!

For over 11 years I was active in modding in another games community and the last 5 years was adminning the site. Over that time I got alot of experience making guides and helping out the questions that continually come up about modding. (Ring a bell for the veterans around here?
) So to be honest, using the very valuable tool you guys have here with the blog is something that Im kind of familiar with to a large degree.
Face it modding extends the life of any game, the tools you guys offer are so easily accessed and backed up with things like the guide for titlebar images and the custom player cards, the game/community will last a long time!

Most of the WHA teams had minor league affiliates, many in the SHL.
I will take AHL affiliates and rename them accordingly, in essence it will be the SHL but under AHL banner. As many of you know, changing the name of the league can crash EHM. Logos can be changed, as they are in my beta version, the NHL shows WHA logos but remains named NHL!
I have yet to tally up all the historical WHA affiliates but hope to cover all 30 teams. Ill have to changhe the AHL Houston Areos team name for obvious reasons! lol!
I know some EHM NHL teams have more than one affiliate and will make sure this stays the saem for those teams that have 2.
In the event I dont have enough historical teams to cover minors, I will make up some fictional teams.. I mean I have to do that at WHA as well, so its not a stretch!

BLOG UPDATED!
http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/we ... .php?e=518
Despite having to coach in Ottawa in a tourney last week, managed to get some graphics done!
Theres basically only 2-3 weeks left in ringette season, so will be able to work on mod more after that!

Are you planning on making all of the photos black & white? I quite like that retro effect. In fact, a WHA retro skin would be a darn cool idea for a future WHA project.
So which season are you actually simulating in the mod? I'll have to read up about the WHA because I know very little about it. All I really know is that it lasted during the 1970's and was started as a rival competition to the NHL. Didn't it close down due to rising player salaries (as was the case with the old British Ice Hockey Super League)?
Being an Englishman living in England, I've only been following hockey since the end of the 1997/98 season and so my knowledge of its history is sketchy. I suppose your knowledge of a sport's history is something you're brought up on by your relatives (i.e. your dad). Being an Englishman, I was brought up on the history of football (soccer) rather than hockey. I am aware of the likes of the WHA and WHL as well as the likes of Gordie Howe; but I know very little in depth about them.
I'm really looking forward to this mod, not only because it'll mix things up and because it looks very professionally done, but also because it'll teach me a little about the history of North American hockey.
