Ok..something a little on the risky side for you.
I will have a startling different lineup for season 7
It is an attempt at something fun, not sure if it will work.
Heatley-Toews(Tavares)-PM Bouchard
A. Ladd-Tavares(Toews)-Justin Williams
Vasicek-Gaustad-Lacasse (20 yr rookie)
Van Rymsdyk-Bolland-Skille
Mike Pelech
Barker-Seabrook
Schultz-Wilson
Petrecki-Doughty
Brennan Turner (my new goon)-Matt Pelech
Price
Irving
I made a big deal before the draft:
Marian Hossa, Brad Richards to Carolina for Andrew Ladd, Justin Williams and a 2nd.
Saves me 2 mill in salary. And gives Toews, Tavares the chance to claim #1 centre role. I think they will end up splitting it though, and rotating throughout the season. I felt I could make this deal because in the playoffs PM Bouchard went nutso for me...with 35 points in 17 games. Only Heater (39) had more. Richards had 34 and Hossa 33. Toews and Tavares were both high 20s.
I also dumped McArdle for a 3rd rounder. Not sure if Lacasse (who I signed right out of the draft) or Petrecki will be my homegrown player yet.
That blockbuster may not be the best deal I have made for sure, but it is the MOST interesting one. Cannot wait to see how it works out.

Okay so 10 games in to my 7th season my team looked like this:
So the team now looks like this after 12 games:
Yep...I think I loves my Heater-Horcoff combo. Good bye Bouchard. NEver did like the midget initial guy anyway.
NOw..although the team is 10-0 and has allowed only 11 goals I was NOT happy. Dany Heatley had 2 goals, Toews 3 and Bouchard 1. Ugly. So it was time for a move. Not happy with Bouchard...AT ALL.Heatley-Toews-Bouchard
Ladd-Tavares-Justin Williams
van Rymsdyk-Gaustad-Lacasse ( an amazing regen)
Boogie-Vasicek-Skille
Bolland(IR)
Barker-Seabrook
J. Schultz-Doughty
Petrecki-Ryan Wilson
B. Turner
Price
Irving
So the team now looks like this after 12 games:
I brought back Horcoff...in 2 games...he has 5 points. Heater has 3 goals and 4 assists in those 2 games.
Toews-Horcoff-Heatley
Ladd-Tavares-J Williams
Van Ryms-Gaustad-Lacasse
Boogie-Vasicek-Skille

WAHOO!!! I did it...20 games 20 wins. WAHOO!! Streak goes back to the playoffs, and I believe it currently sits at 35 games straight won. SCARY.
What is odd..is until I traded for Horcoff my offense was brutal. Toews is just not a top line centre for Heatley anyway. And Tavares is just not ready yet.
So my offensive numbers are brutal, especially that power play. But my d-numbers amaze me.
Anyway...back to the game

Jesus. I went to 40-0-0.
But then...all hell has broken loose. I am currently 2-3-1 in my last 6 games. INcluding my worst loss ever in game 41 vs Columbus...a 6-1 defeat.
So before that game this team had won 55 consecutive games dating back to game 2 of the 2012 playoffs, round 1 versus Calgary in which we lost in Overtime.
So yep...wow. Now I pay the price I guess.

No freaking question. But really, I have done nothing different or illegal. My roster is not even that exciting. Nor is it scoring all that well. I dunno. My tactics just worked really well for this season. Christ I even won the 3 shootouts I got into.
It just seems that I have kept guys together for so long that they know the ins and outs of each other.
Anyway...just lost Horcoff for 8 months..so that should do me in.

Cannot believe I am done.
Now..for those of you who have discussed at length, the successes I have been having, and others have been having. Here is the story:
Games 1-40 my record was 40-0-0.
I then lost a couple in the next 20.
The last 22 games I payed no attention to tactics, practices or line combos...as you can see I lost more often, but still not a ton. I changed my tactics only between games, and never between periods. I never once touched my line combinations, or tweaked players. Led to much less success, especially on the PK.
Now..playoff time came...I went back to my normal self and paid attention to practices, tactics and switching tactics and lines.
16-0-0 in the playoffs.
This is the only difference for me, between doing sillily well, and doing decently well. Slowly, methodically and carefully paying attention to
1. pracitce regimes
2. tactics for the team (alternating between 2 or 3)
3. tactics for lines (really don't play that much with what I set in my overall tactics of the three team sets I have--although will change breakouts if one line not getting anything done)
4. tactics for players--tweaking shooting, aggressiveness, passing tendencies, all of that when players struggle, even for a short 2 game period.
I pay very close attention to everything I do in this game. So, between the consistency of my line up over 7 years...I made 1-3 changes per season only on a fairly regular basis. This is what happens.
Oh and for those wondering...Horcoff...retired due to the massive 8 month injury he had, around game 70 of the season. See:
