wavier wire/trade block purgatory thread

Post by bigargon »

One thing i have noticed with this game. is the AI continually puts the same players on the wavier wire and trade block.

the same names over and over. they are kind of like re-packaged gifts, that you get for Christmas or a birthday and send on to some one else. too good for the AHL, too bad for the NHL. Too old to play, too young to retire.

one i can think of Travis "Baldy" roche, i actually have him this year.

or another one i see alot is Derrick Walser who i have picked up at times because he he has some decent offensive skills for a defensemen, but bad defensive skills.

Who are you favorites?
Have you "adopted" these poor unfortunates for your team or have just just passed them on to other GM's? :dunno:

I always see the same couple of guys from Anaheim and Pittsburgh. Their names are eluding me right now but you usually see them on waivers and they're always offered up in trade when you're shopping guys around in the preseason.

In my UHL season, it seems to be the opposite: there are some players that seemingly all GMs of low-powered leagues on the continent want to acquire, even though they are perfectly happy where they are. And the GMs keep making offers for weeks and months. Very weird.

For me, it seems that Kurt Sauer is ALWAYS being put on waivers, or being offered to teams as a trade. I have only played through 4 seasons so far, but he has been the most prevalent for me.

It seems like Brendan Shanahan is always traded in the very early stages of things in games using the TBL Roster Update 1.5
