Playoff Prediction League 2008

Post by archibalduk »

Fresh from the regular season prediction league, the Playoffs prediction league has now started!

The scoring system is:
* 3pts for correctly predicting the score and winner of the series
* 1pt for just correctly predicting who will win the series

Please note: Rather than predicting the game scores, you will have to predict outcome of the series. In other words, you have to predict how many games each team will win. For example, in the Montreal v Boston series, you would predict how many games Montreal will win and how many Boston will win. So obviously for each series you must predict one team as winning four!

I'm in, but the only thing I care about is that Shadd and his Flames do not win anything.

Heh, i'm the defending champ for the playoff predictions :D

Keep in mind that the first round is the key, with 8 predictions to make out of the 15 battles (8 in the first round + 4 in the second round + 2 in the conference finals + 1 for the Finals)

With only three more games to be decided in the first round, Joe Helmer has taken an early lead, having correctly predicted the outcome of four games. The first round is the most important (as it involves the most games) and so an early lead is vital for winning overall.

I was thinking about to add "in the beginning" as I was in the lead in the regular season prediction and then ended in like 10th or something... :-p

The Conference semi-finals are ready for prediction. You have until Saturday 26 April 7pm (UK Time) (2pm EST) to make your predictions.

Joe failed to correctly predict the remaining games of the quarters and so has shot down to 10th place. Inspector84, Devils88 and Rottamies have shot to the top. With seven games left to predict, anyone can still win it.

The two conference finals can now be predicted. You have until 10 May to predict. There's still nine points left to play for so technically anyone in the top 12 can still win it.

Rottamies is leading the way with a four point lead at the moment. 8-)

Sorry I completely forgot to add the next game to the Prediction League. It's up now and so you have until the start of game 2 to make your predictions for the final. The deadline is Tuesday 27th 1am (UK time) / Monday 26th 8pm (Eastern US time).

The first place in the prediction league is being fought over by Rottamies and Calv. Anyone currently in the top seven could still come third, and anyone in the top ten can still come fourth. It all comes down to this final series! 8-)

Aye come on Pens! Not a good start for them, though. Still, I've got it going down to the wire: 4-3 to the Pens.
