My new project-some kind of Fictional Hockey World-need help

Seeing the birth of the KHL, the new shape that is taking the EBEL and the idea of a Scandinavian League spreading out, I started to think about a project that could include some of these changes and, why not, to put new ones.

So I was thinking about the following changes:

Russian Superleague --> Kontinental Hockey League. 12/13 russian teams plus Belarusians, Ukrainians and Kazakhs.

EBEL --> Like the one who already is in place, but with a couple austrian teams less to be replaced with Alba Volan and other Slovenian team

Slovenian League --> Panonian League revised. Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia plus adding Hungary and Romania to Interliga and Interliga 2

DEL --> making it a central/western hockey europe league with teams from Germany, Switzerland, France and Italy. But I'm not too sure about this because of the non existence of the relegations

Czech Republic --> Czech/Slovak league with teams from both countries

Slovak League --> the Eastern European Hockey League of old. Belarus, Latvia, Ukraine, Poland and other baltic nations

Finnish SM League --> Scandinavian Hockey League with teams from Sweden, Finland and maybe one each in the top series from norway and Denmark. Minor leagues will be filled from teams of these countries to fight for the promotion.

Any other idea? I hope that someone will follow this crazyness!!

I think an Western European League (UK, France, Switzerland) and a Central European League (Germany,Austria,Italy) could be something ( I haven't looked at EHM-playability, though)

If you make the SM-Liiga into Scandinavian league then you could turn Swedish Elitserien to some other league since they have relegation. To make it work in the game I mean

Oops! I just realised there are two divisions in Soumi Liga. Add 4 Swe and 4 FIN

Your suggestions are great, only that:

Not sure how it works completely without teams from the nation...but I have a person to ask about it

This would be awesome if we could have promotions and relegations...

About changing the Norwegian league to a SWE/FIN version I just thought that there would be better hockey in that league if it were'nt just norwegian teams. I wanted to put as many of the playable teams in a playable league. And sure, it would e nice to have relegation between the Czech/Slovak leagues but you could have a system like in England where there are leagues that don't have that.

I don't know if there would be a problem with that a league doesn't contain any teams from the same country, but the problem is in the regulations that only a certain amount of foreigners are allowed. For example, if we turn the Finnish league to Scandinavian, would the Swedish teams only be able to dress four swedes/game with the rest being finns? Or is that something you can edit? I don't think it is.

League reputation would have to be changed as well I think. And adapting to a different salary cap. Lots of interesting things to think about.

I tried this by putting Djurgrden in the Finnish SM-liiga and when the season started I could only dress 4 non-finnish players

Yeah, there's a max of four foreign players in Finnish SM-liiga, so basically if you bring a foreign team to it, most of their players will have to be replaced with Finnish players.

But in other leagues foreign teams must respect the rules with their own country players. I mean, if you put a Finnish team in the EBEL for example, they can't have more than 6 non finnish in team, not non austrians

Another new idea I just got is to replace the norwegian or danish league with the Asian Hockey League! It would be pretty cool!

Yes, I had made an error. I changed the nationality of the team. I tried again with DIF as a Swedish team and it worked well.

I also gave some thought to creating a Baltic League with perhaps estonian, latvian, lithuanian and polish teams. Ukraine, Belarus nd Kazachstan would best be in the Russian league, I think.

What I've done so far:

Austrian League -> Austria+Slovenia+Hungary
Denmark -> Denmark+Norway
Norway -> Asia Hockey League
Czech Republic -> Czech+Slovak
Slovakia -> EEHL (East Europe, Belarus, Latvia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Poland)
Slovenia -> pretty much the same, couldn't edit much

Then I edited also SM League, Mestis League and Swedish Elitserien. But I'm not satisfied. SM League looks really cool as it is a league made up of the best Finn and Swede teams, but the other leagues look all the same, plus there is the problem that good teams are in low divisions.
Suggestions?

90% of the base work has been done
