Is EHM 2005 better than EHM 2007?
Im thinking about trying out EHM 2005 because i have heard the stats are alittle more accurate in the NHL. Do you guys know what, if any, major features are missing from 05 that are in 07? ...like was there a salary cap in 05? etc

Where did you hear that rumour. I can't see any substance in that whatsoever. There's always going to be a lot of debate about whether a player is correctly rated in the game - especially with the relatively small number of researchers that worked in rating the players. But, on the whole, both games are realistic enough to be enjoyable. Neil's fantastic pre-game editor means that any incorrect ratings can be ironed out.
I would highly recommend you choose EHM 2007 over 2005. It's a long time since I played EHM 2005, but massive leaps were made in terms of gameplay and the actual game engine. EHM 2007 simulates the entire game whereas EHM 2005 could only simulate every few seconds. Also, from what I can remember of 2005, EHM 2007 has much deeper tactics and a much improved practice system. Don't get me wrong, EHM 2007 is far from perfect (it was only SI's third version of the game), but I think it's much better than 2005.
I think EHM 2005 did have the salary cap. I'm fairly sure it came out after the NHL lockout so it should be there.

I think I could recommend EHM 2005 as a compliment to 2007, mainly for 2005's on-line capabilities versus those in 2007, but definitely not as a replacement. Like Archi has pointed out, 2007 has made some big improvements from 2005.
I think he may mean game stats like goals, assists, points, etc. In which case, I think I can see some reasoning behind that. Simply because EHM 2007 is in the unfortunate position of having been developed right at the dawn of a new NHL era. So SI could only take guesses with how stats would play-out, and high scoring was where the NHL was hoping to go. As a result, it appears to me that SI developed with anticipation of that holding true, and gave us high scoring. Unfortunately, it was a bit overdone compared to how the NHL really turned out.Where did you hear that rumour. I can't see any substance in that whatsoever. I guess one of the mods changed my title but i actually already own EHM07....i was just wondering if i did get 05 would it just be too outdated, would i be missing the 'new' features too much ? i dont even know what the new features are. Is there an editor for 05..are there any issues or problems i may encounter with it? etc

lol actually for player goals, assists and points they are pretty much the same......that's still sad because EA had 4 years to correct theirs.dybbuk wrote:Of course, in one of the 05 leagues I'm in Iggy had two 100 goal seasons and a 96 goal season; broke 200 points at least twice. Still better then the EA series though.
Where can i even find EHM2005? Is there a legal download of the full game or demo so i can campare it with my 07 game?

Sorry, I've renamed your thread again in the hope it's a little clearer to everyone
You can buy the game on CD. Perhaps check out your local game store - otherwise eBay might be a good place. It was available as a digital download but if you get it on CD you won't encounter problems with losing licence keys, etc.
