i usually have scouts assigned to different tasks (i.e Russia or Youth Players or NHL Draft) depending on skills, usually higher potential judging on searches involving youth, and more balenced scouts on the rest. Then i take my best scout (who is usually also my head scout) and have him scout the shortlist. I use the shortlist for any players i'm A) Interested in B) Wanting a report on or C) Ranked 4 stars or higher by another scout.

I take my 2-3 best scouts and let them search for players for the upcoming draft.
Then I take the 3 nest best after the above and place them to scout the Canadian junior leagues. I look at the birth place on the scouts so that an Ontario born scout is sent to the OHL and so on.
I then send my Swede and/or Finn to search Scandinavia. My Russian to Russia and so on. The rest of the scouts will search the NHL, AHL, ECHL and then I like to have a scout who I can send out on scouting mission for a couple of weeks to search for college kids or just hidden gems in the not so flashy leagues.

I've found that asking for recaps only is a good medium. They'll still come back to you with what they've found, but it'll just be a small one-message recap.
Something to the effect of:
"Scout Bob has found 30 players so far on his North Pole scouting trip.
Excellent players: 10
Hot prospects: 15
Depth players: 5
etc., etc.
That's the option I usually go with.

Don't bother. I promptly fired scout Bob after signing Santa Clause on his recommendation.
It turns out, this Santa guy just skates around and passes out new equipment to all the players on the ice.
The rest in the report were a bunch of little guys, maybe a metre tall
. Turns out, they couldn't even get on the ice for a shift - I had to throw each one over the boards myself.
However, they make some mean sticks. ...The wooden pads and stuff were an awkward concept, but the sticks were great.

OK, I try to find a good way to keep track of the players my scout are scouting. Actually, I use my selection tool to the max... but its ##@% time consuming. What i'm doing is that when a scout say its a player that could play for the team right now, I put him in my selection. So after two years, I have about 400 players in my selection!!! Hard to keep tracking. What is your way to keep track of the best players that your scout found. There is always a good players that wont be sign somewhere... this way... I'm sure I'm gonna keep track of everyone. Is there a better way to keep scouting up to date. Let me know.

There is no good way to keep track of scouting reports in EHM unfortunately. Personally, I devised a database and manually entered the info and do updates every season. This way I can query for specific scouting info only found in the scout reports. It doesn't solve the time-consumption issue, but it works for me. The application can be found here. It initially contains scouting reports on every player on an NHL depth chart by a Head Scout with 99's (20's) in all relevant areas. Good luck.

There's quite a few leagues that are eligible. Players from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and British Columbia, are entered in there, along with a few American cities, can't remember them all but Arizona, California and Washington are in there. But the best leagues are Alberta Junior Hockey League, Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. The best way is to find a previous draft and check where most of the players played in that year.

Do a player search for the WHL-protected region. Then you'll see which leagues have the most players listedvanCanucks wrote:I started a new game playing the WHL (the first time playing juniors) and I want to know which leagues I should send my scouts to?
Do anyone have a list of leagues that are bantam draft eligible for the WHL?
Thanks a lot

Scouting Reports - Export For...
Does the "Export For" feature (under the Search menu) on a scouting report screen work and if so, how? The list shows all other GMs I have in that game but they are all greyed out. I tried extra GMs in the same league with the same result. Is this a feature that didn't get fully implemented or is it another thing that doesn't do what you'd expect?
