Freeware EHM - Discussion Thread

Post by dominator22 »

Admin note: This is now the official general discussion thread for the freeware version of EHM (the prequel to SI Games' NHL:EHM series) - Archi

I've been reading throughout a couple sites that there is a way to change certain settings. These settings include: Scoring:
Penalty frequency:
Fighting:
Injury:
Trade Difficulty:
CPU Trades:

Does anyone know where I would be able to find these settings?

Are you sure you're talking about EHM?

Those listed don't sound like EHM, they sound more like EA's NHL Hockey series to me. :-?

It's possible to change those in orginal freeware EHM, but I don't think it's possible in EHM 2007

EDIT: if you are talking about freeware EHM, then go to options after you have started new game

Yeah, those are all from the freeware. None of the SI-made versions have sliders.

And as Sharks said, they can be found under the 'options' tab.

I think this can be used as a general freeware EHM general discussion thread. As this isn't related to the NHL:EHM series, I'm going to move this to the General Discussion Forum.

Since it was a brand new start for SI, my guess would be that they wanted to focus on getting the core game worked out first, then look into making it flexible with sliders... which I have a feeling could have began with EHM 2008 or 2009 :( .

In any case, I agree with you. It'd have been great to have the sliders implemented. I especially loved knocking the scoring way down, and getting everyone's favourite scores: 1-0, 1-1, etc. And I'm sure everyone knows which setting was my absolute favourite, and I desperately wish they had carried over... *cough* wizard mode *cough* ;) . That one was a stroke of genius that got me truly addicted to EHM.

Wizard Mode was a "mode" where player attributes were not visible. You had to go entirely by the player's stats, and trust your scouts.

It was definitely a challenge, but it was a realistic challenge - which is why I enjoyed it so much... and didn't stop looking for a way to replicate it in 2007 until I actually found one, and despite it's ugliness, I found one. :joy:
