Honestly, that's the only way any text based sim should even be thinking at this point. Make everything fake and then let fans create mods to cover the real teams. They just can't sell enough of these things to justify the cost or the headache of getting licensed by the leagues. I almost wonder if EHM hadn't gone the licensed route, maybe they might still be making new versions of the game today.

So long as the game comes with an editor then we can get around the problem of there being no licences.

Bruins72 makes a very interesting point about what would have happened had SI gone down the unlicensed route...

I really believe they would. I'm not sure how much licensing puts them down, but I would imagine it's not small. Probably much more than the cost of producing an editor to allow the gamers to create the teams themselves. ...I think this route would be the wise choice for any future game like this.

although there are some fantastic features and ideas in their game the presentation is terrible. What's with the childish pics in it? there doesn't seem to be very much customization besides changing team names, and players and pics. I would like to see it be as customizable as OOTP. Hopefully you can add players first names.

my biggest probllem with it is the spelling mistakes. If you look through the screens almost every page there are terrible spelling mistakes. Somethings you can't even make out what trying to say.

There are so many things that i dislike about that game but they have some good ideas. I will most likely be buying it for a change from EHM although nothing can replace this game yet. Im not a big fan of the "Turns" either instead of a schedule.

The "mistakes" are intentional. They don't have a licence with the NHL to use the correct player names and so they have faked them.

It is not just in player names. It is in text. But the reason is because the guys who designed the game are not native English speakers, and they have not used spellcheck. No biggie to me.

yeah thats what i was talking about. almost every page has major spelling errors and they use wrong wording altogether for some things. I just hope i will be able to understand what they mean because i know for their last english release it was much worse.

Heres the pic of the editor : http://www.lesims.net/OffPics/eng/EditPlayers.jpg "Fatigue nego" ....and that means what? lol But seriously its all the small things that add up that probably makes the game alittle less enjoyable, but i am still going to buy it! :)

and i don't really get the point of "Hotdog Prices" in the financials, but then again i also think that financials are pretty pointless without the option of relocating teams. (besides setting player budget ;) )

It's still in it's development, so they might get those mistakes fixed before the final release.

I don't think it completely ruins the game, but it does make it look a bit amateur-like, with so many errors in spelling.

I just hope they have atleast spelled all the Finnish names correctly... :-k

If Shadd wasn't already translating for PowerPlay Manager then he'd be a great guy to translate the game's French to good English.

why do u guys think there is so many more Online hockey sims then single player? Is it because its easier to make because there isn't any cpu AI? Online is something that doesn't interest me so im alittle naive about it.

Not only PowerPlay Manager, but also another website (of sporting bets, which i'm not high on, but i'm paid ^^). I've talked you all about PPM a bit later, we're just in beta right now.

Btw, if the guys from this game (or any site) want a French/English translator, i'm here :D
