If I can do mock draft does that mean my system is able to do live draft? I don't really want to download and install the program to test my system.

Yes. In fact, the mock drafts are live drafts, except they don't count towards anything.

Thanks, Stinson!

That could be done, and might be useful in giving us an idea of a draft larger than the standard 10 teams.

Although, I'm not sure how many of us will want to give everyone a peep into our draft strategy ahead of time. ;)

Guys.

For some reason, ESPN is not recognizing that I've joined the league. Can you kick my team? I think they are Team Slapshot or something. If there is someone who wants to take my place, that's fine. My time has all of a sudden become very short and I'd prefer not to take up space in a league I can't really participate in. Find someone who can be active and not sit on good players.

Sorry and thanks for taking care of this.

I've got a slight problem... I'm attending a wedding on the 27th, so I guess I have to go auto-draft.

A bit worried if I'll get enough players on the right positions, especially goalies.

You could always rank a couple of top notch goalies very high on your pre-draft rankings. I'm guessing goalies are going to be in high demand in this draft since we have so many teams. I didn't notice (and couldn't find the league rules on the league page... probably just overlooking it) if this league has a minimum games played requirement by your goalies but another league I play in does. In my regular Yahoo league you're required to have 3 games played between your goalies or you don't get any goalie points for the week. The league runs as a weekly matchup (you go against another team each week and you get wins and losses for each category) and those goalie points can be vital. That's why often times if I'm not one of the top picks in position to get Crosby or Ovechkin, I'll go with a goalie in the first round and sometimes in the second too.

Corinthian wanted in (check the last post on page 5), but no-one else noticed so I thought I'd point that out.

I am sorry guys to announce, but I am stepping off this game as well, if possible. School is taking all my time, and I have no time or intension to play this game :(. I will regret it, I know, once NHL season is back on track, but my hockey interest is always low during the off-season, and even if it starts now, my interest will grow again after several months.

Sorry for the inconvenience

No worries, gibson. It's a wise choice to keep school on top.

(And just to confirm, you were the Ružinov Aces, right?)

bobmcgoo: Thank you very much for pointing that out. I would have completely missed it otherwise.

Corinthian: If you're still around, my apologies for missing your request. I just sent you an invite, in case you're still interested.

Which leaves us with one spot reserved for Corinthian, and one spot open to anyone and everyone.

I think I am going to have to as well. I have a meeting on Saturday at 9 o'clock, so i'm only going to be available for the first couple of rounds! Really annoyed!

That's one thing I love about live drafts... the banter. I also enjoy the reactions when players are picked. There's always that player that you're waiting to draft, he's your sleeper pick, and then the guy drafting one or two spots before you takes him... and then you go nuts on them! :-D

darn that is annoying. You get yourself so excited and convinced that no one would even think of taking him, and then there he goes...

Invite sent to Devils88. Pending acceptance from Corinthian, the league is at a full 20 teams again.

I likely will not see any rounds. I will have to work on my roster after the draft. 22 goalies is not gonna help me.

I've decided to change-up the Presidents' Trophy. I don't feel it really fit well with the rest of the awards, 'cause I think a perfect 200 point season will be nearly impossible to hit - making it rarely, if ever, awarded.

So I decided to make it for the team who maintains the highest average league position during the year, with the "recording periods" being every week when I do the 'Team of the Week'. So basically, whoever holds the highest position averaged over the 27 weeks. I'm hoping that doesn't mathematically come out to automatically be the league winner. I don't think it will, though, if a team holds in the top five or something, but a team comes from mid-table late in the season to win - the consistent top fiver will take it and not the come-back team. But I could be wrong, so if anyone foresees this mathematically ending up being the team who wins the league, let me know. I don't wanna make a trophy that'll basically mirror the Cup, only with different calculations.

Should be the guy who has been consistently top 5.

E.g.
If some guy has these positions:
10 10 10 9 8 7 6 5 3 1 his avg is 6.9

If someone is
5 5 3 2 4 5 6 7 5 3 his avg is 4.5

Hi Fantasy Experts.
i've read the rules and this thread but could not find a specific answer.
i can draft 9 forwards, but MUST i draft 3LW, 3C and 3RW????
Or can i draft 5C and 4W, so i can use a C on a Wingers Roster Spot??
thx

Forwards can be of any offensive position.

...Unless any fantasy veterans have any late objections and thinks it'd be better with positional limits. ESPN allows up to 8 slots per position: up to 8 Left Wingers, up to 8 Centermen, up to 8 Right Wingers, etc.

Full max. starters' limits are:

14 Forwards or 8 LW, 8 C, 8 RW
14 D, 18 on roster
6 G, 8 on roster
23 bench
6 IR
