Unfaking: rename teams/leagues/players in NCAA, UHL, CHL....

Not that I can't add them, but where are two of the Blues more promising (sad) prospects, TJ Oshie and Ben Bishop? Scott Jackson, our 2nd round pick in 2005 is there, but not Oshie

Don't worry! The Unfaking patch will be out in a few weeks. This will rename all of the fake teams, players, arena, etc. to their real names.

So making another league/ creating & editing players will be kinda pointless till then? That is, if we want to use that patch, hehe....

People can ask and drive the SI guys insane about the NCAA thing but it quite simply will never be included. Period. If people haven't heard the reasoning yet it is that the NCAA eligability rules include one that say that if your likeness is used in a game you lose your eligability to play in the NCAA.

So it's far more than just a liscensing issue... as for stadium names it's more of a manpower (or lack thereof) issue in that they would have to arrange with each building individually to aquire the rights to use their building's real name in the game.

likeness is one thing, but what's wrong with providing the right birthdates??

sorry for griping. I understand that, even tho it's lame....I guess this only applies to hockey? They have plenty of NCAA football and basketball games.

Yeah, different rules for different sports I guess. Prolly something to do with the differing draft systems, for example in basketball if a player 'declares for the draft' and hires an agent he can't play in college anymore.

I wasn't arguing that it sucks, just that it's the least worth arguing about because of the way the NCAA rules are it won't be changing in any version of EHM any time soon.

Jan Smetana is working on a roster update based on the unfaking patch. That'll be coming out a little after it.

Cool idea. Just a question, why does it say "version 1 of the unfaking patch" on the main page? If any further updates are made to EHM 05, will the players have to be faked again for legal purposes? Or will there possibly be updates to fix errors on the current unfaking patch?

That's a question for KH or Javs. I'm not sure whether there's plans for a second version. Maybe it's a "just incase" clause in the event that there's a bug.

we are thinking about doing a second version with december rosters
