This team isn't that bad. I'm 6-4 ten games in and 2nd to 4th in player scoring with FGC averaging almost three points per game. The team is very sensitive to injuries, though. I had three top guys out for a week and didn't have a chance in the three games I played. I also have to cut down on penalties (as always for me in EHM) so I sent an offer for a disciplinarian assistant.

heh. I have one too, but it ain't Bouchard. One of my guys 3 games in...75 PIMS, 2 goals and is playing awesome! What the hell is his name? Last one starts with an M. He is one of my overagers and is 19 aggression, 19 strength!

FGC is my top player. 5 games in and he's got 9 points. Next up is Mike Neil with 7. Sparling has been a bit disappointing for me though. My best defenseman offensively has been Sauve with 5 points (4 of them goals!). I've got 7 players with their PIM in double digits. My goalies have been pretty good. I'm going with Joyal and Fullerton. They both have 2 wins, Joyal has my one loss. Fullerton, surprisingly, has the lower GAA and higher save %.

I've still got a few guys who are finishing games with their condition too low. I haven't even had them on any training for the last few games. I guess it's time to shuffle my lines to play those guys a little less. It's a shame though. My offense was starting to click.

Man, I'm getting killed with penalties. I might have to ease up on how tight I've got my gap control and also my aggression. My PK is running at 93% but it's getting used far too often! 7 games in and we're leading the lead in PIMs with 213. The next highest is 179. I think that's the one thing that's really hurting me right now. Still, I'm 4-2-0-1, which is good enough for 2nd in the Eastern division.

I'm seeing quite a lot of penalties in my game, too. It's not quite as extreme as yours, though - I'm 194 mins after 8 games. Of the 20 goals my team have scored, 10 are PPG and 2 SHG. I've conceded a total of 24 goals, with 10 PPG and 4 SHG. That seems like quite a high percentage.

I had some good results the first few games but I am starting to find that my team can't last the full 60 minutes. We have thrown away wins in the three previous games by conceding goals late in the third period. I think this is because I'm only playing with three lines. As soon as the December trading window opens, I'm going to offload my overagers and bring in some younger talent.

I'm really enjoying the challenge that the overagers bring. We have so many in the roster but only three spaces for them in the line-up. It certainly makes you think twice choosing the line up.

Currently I'm 3-4-1-0 but, as I said, I think three of those losses were down to a lack of roster depth. I'll have to look back at my game again, but I get the impression a lot of my points are coming from my defencemen rather than my forwards.

Heh. After 3 games I have killed a total of 42 penalties. The teams against me are 0-19, 1-16, 0-8...1-43. My power play? 5-19. If I have figured out the PP you guys better watch out.

3-0 start. 4-1, 2-0, 7-3

Doh I've lost Maxime Joyale to Milwaukee ](*,)

I've now got Fullerton between the pipes. He's not too bad, really.

KGC is producing in my game. FGC blows bubbles. Sparling is putting up numbers, but is highly prone to bad games (12 GP - one 4 rating & four 5's). Sauve is a PP stud and Joyal keeps us in every game. Overall not doing too bad, but the team as a whole has lots of highs and lows.

Has anyone compiled a list of leagues that the Q can pull prospects from? I running through my scouting routine and I realized, beyond the ISS list, I have no idea which leagues to scout. :dunno: Any help?

I've got a decent scout (16 in both judging attributes) for this level and had him scout my team. His analysis is pretty different from the players' performance over that stretch. Of course they say that Sparling is better than how he's playing for me. I can understand that. My tactics just don't suit him I guess. But Mike Neil was my top point earner in the first segment and they say he's got limited potential and he's good for 5 points. He's had 2 four games for me, in one of them he had a hat trick. Sure, he's streaky as all get out but he can put up points. They rate KGC as a 5 star player but I can't get him to play decent on a scoring line. He's got 5 points and a 6.22 average rating. I just find it all a bit odd and confusing. Should I be setting my lines based on the scouting reports or what I see for attributes and performance?

I really need to focus my draft (still a long ways off) on forwards and goaltending. Joyal and Fullerton have been solid in net (Joyal consistently and Fullerton at times) but Joyal is 20 and gone next season. My defense have been very good, especially Sauve, Grant, and Cote. I'm better Stich will be better next season. My RW is especially weak. Leask is a enforcer type wing but he's an over-ager. I've got him as my second line RW though and he really shouldn't be. I've just got no depth at the position. C and LW are passable (but not good). RW is just a mess. I can't wait until the draft!

I did a search for players under 20 and in QMJHL protected areas. These are the leagues that had the most players
MJAHL
QJAHL
EOJHL
NSJB
NPMHL
NLMHL
NSMHL
QMHL
SJJL
ME

also
AJHL
BCHL
SJHL
CJHL
MJHL
OPJHL
came up but they shouldn't as they are not in QMJHL territory. Maybe the players were from quebec, I don't know

I saw the same thing manimal and if you look at the players in the BCHL, Alberta leagues and some others that were definitely geographically out of bounds, those players were either from Quebec/NFL/Maritimes or had no birth city.

Joyal has really been strong for me lately. He just won Defensive Player of the Month for October. In 10 games, he had 9 wins and 1 shutout.

My guys seemed to have turned a corner and they're playing really well now. In my last 10 games we're 8-2-0. We're leading our conference and tied with Val d'Or for the league lead but we've played 2 more games than them, so technically, we're in 2nd. Our PK is about 91% (22 games in) and our PP is about 17% (which puts us in the upper half of the league in that area). Now I've just got to focus on keeping these guys healthy and developing their attributes. Right now Stoddard is out for 2 weeks with an injury but other than that, we're doing okay.

wow you are just rolling! =D>
I'm hoping that's a team / EHM trait, not just you LOL

jk... thanks for fixing my post, by the way :-)

I can't get a consistent game out of anyone... all floating between 6 and 7 - one day a 8 or 9, next a 5...

My team is pretty inconsistent too. I get strings of bad games. I'll have a couple guys who will be my leading scorers at one point and then they'll go on a scoring drought for the next several games. At the 17 game mark, Neil lead my team with 20 points. Now at 23 games, he's only got 23 points. FGC had 7 goals at 17 games. Now at 23 games he's only gotten 1 more. Everything changes night to night.

I just had my highest scoring game of the challenge. We beat Chicoutimi by a score of 13-5. Matthew Block was first star with 2 G and 4 A. Ryan Sparling finally showed me his offensive game getting the second star with 1 G and 5 A. Third star was David Desharnais of the losing team. He had 2 G and 3 A. For our team we got 4 point games from Sauve and Theriault (who had a hat trick). Grant and FGC had 3 point games.

EDIT:

And tragedy strikes! As I'm continuing to the next day, EHM crashes. I load back up and that game never happened. I replay the game and just win 4-2.

This is the second time it's crashed today. I hope my saved game isn't corrupt. ](*,)

EDIT: 2

And it just happened again! ](*,)

I can't get past November 10th. I play the game, click continue once, then when I click it again to advance to the next day, the game crashes and I lose my progress. I think my save may be corrupted. :dunno:

That's bad luck, a save being corrupt during a challenge.

I'm not as good as you I see, I can win one game against a team with 4-0 and lose the next game against them like two days later with the same score.

Ugh - bad news on the save - sorry B72 - and you were doing so so well!

No kidding about Joyal! Fullerton blows - so bad I haven't used him in over a month!

My team is finally working - other than the odd player - KGC is a guy I can't get to perform... but we've won 6 in a row (yikes!) with an 11-1 blowout of Shawinigan... I've finally found some lines that work!! :joy:

I'll cry if we lose now that I've put this up LOL
