Sbufkle hasn't been around for a bit. I'm hoping he's still working on this project. This is one that's garnered quite a bit of interest!

Is it safe to say this project is abandoned?

It does look like this has been abandoned. It's a real shame because it was an original idea and I think he was very, very close to releasing a beta. I'm surprised because I know he has a lot of experience making mods for another series of games (I think it was the Close Combat series) - this makes me wonder whether something happened that stopped him from being active on the internet or TBL (he last visited on 19 May 2008).

If somehow Skbufle could send me the database he has so far I would gladly complete it for him. This was one mod I was following very closely and it appears he was basically done except for a few minor tweaks (rosters, teams, etc).

Unfortunately, Sbufkle hasn't visted TBL since May... so unless he stops by, it's unlikely there is any chance of that.

Hey guys! Been a while and yes, talk of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.

Yeah, I’m the guy who is making the WHA mod.

Over the past few months my family has had a cancer crisis involving my mother in law and Pancreatic Cancer. This is dominating my families life and I want to find time to get back into EHM as a small get away when I can from the reality of life which is right now on a very negative phase.

Basically the cancer has spread to the liver and she has been given 3-24 months. To say my wife and her mother are close is an understatement. They have called each other a few times a day every day for years and years and every weekend we are normally at her parents for dinner. This type of cancer is one of the deadliest and while there are some odds to survive, 95% of those with it die within 5 years. It is not curable, as doctors have said again and again, they can only “prolong her life”and really, that’s all I have to say. Frankly, I am getting tired of having to tell people.

I have not ditched the WHA mod, its simply on the backburner. Last week I did find time to kick start the beast a bit, finding some more player pics and jotting down a few notes on some teams to change for the minors.

As you might have noticed, links to the WHA stuff I had up are all gone. These were hosted by one of the websites I webmaster in, but with what has happened I handed the reigns over to someone else as I knew I wouldn’t have time to do things like that while we went through this crisis. Course he deleted my “EHM” file from the site! I will be putting the graphics up at graphics hosting site when I get the chance.

I cant guarantee going at full speed or any real progress for any length of time. But with some time off at Christmas I will et some work done. As I already mentioned, Ill use this as an escape to keep myself a little more saine.

My own mother died 6 years ago, of a brain aneurysm in her driveway. Didn’t suffer for a second the doctor told me. In some ways that was easier, in others harder than what we are dealing with now. But as I tell my wife for her mother, ‘She isn’t dead yet.’ (I’m a regular pointer out of the obvious no?)

Sorry to hear about your mother in law.
Lost my grandma for about one and one half month ago, so I know how hard it is to lose someone. I hope that you and your family can manage this and get on with your lives. As I said I know how hard it is, but I'm sure you can do it.
