batdad wrote:There are no random created players. Regens are the future. Period. Sorry Getz but you were wrong as far as I know. But it does not mean that Brodeur's regen will be a superstar..depends on his ratings that do not carry over. Only a few do and you can find the list in the regen thread, where these posts likely should have gone.
I'm pretty sure that there are atleast a few totally randomly created players in the game, the Dutch superstar centres that I have seen being posted over at SI gives me that impression atleast.
As does the fact that star regens appear in game before any stars in the game has retired.

And you actually think those are random? Coming from a guy who lives there? :-D Doubt it somehow. Edited in. The guys at SI have said that there are no randomly created new players in the game in the past. I tend to believe that.

Some of the regens from retired players that are not that good become stars because there are only a few attributes that move from the retired player to the regen. The regen is NOT going to be the same as the retired player. A Sundin regen could come back as a minor leaguer. A Marchment regen could come back as a superstar. That part is random, as only a coupld of attributes (flair, and others) move along from retired player to regen.

So, how good does Jordan Staal get?
Who gets better, Staal or Toews?

Get what? Better?

I think that it depends on how the player is nurtured.

Got both in my system, what I want to know is who I should keep. Don't think I can manage to nurture two promising centre prospects at the same time.
What weighs in Jordan's favor is that I already have his older brother (Eric) in my squad.

What database are you using?

anyway here's a a screen of Couture in 2019 using Lidas 1.0 database, has 716 games in the NHL recording 347 points with an avg. rating of 7.32 with his best season being 16-17 when he recored 47 points (21+26)... he was not drafted

Screen

so I guess your using another DB...

Has anyone signed and developed Ryan Garlock?

He is a 22yr old Centre and I think he is in the ECHL and looks good attribute wise.

I have him on my 3rd line but am only in the 1st season.

Anyone develop him further?

Yeah third line is about right. At the start of the game, his stats make him better than the others around him from Saginaw, but he doesn't develop much better than that, 3rd liner is probably the highest i've had him.

Cool, he looks like he can turn into a decent 2-way forward. His checking and hitting are good although his pokecheck & positioning need some work. He has good stick handling and offensive skills too. And is very fast.

Ok, i found that Logan Couture is random, he can be in the top5 for the draft, or somewhere in the 20-40 range. Same deal with Turris. Then there's Voracek. I've seen him go in 1st 2 rounds before, this game I take him in 5th round.

Also, anyone ever grab Simon Després? he's Ranked at#6 at Mid-Season. (This is in my Canucks game using Lidas 1.1) My season would have to go down quicker than Kimbo Slice. to take Tavares or Hedman.
Also, any other notables for this 1st draft using Lidas 1.1?

little note, Lawrence Nycholat, I put him on the power play, and in 44GP he's got 26 points, 8G 18A, leads my D. I told Edler to shoot the puck more, but no... ass keeps passing, always the 3rd assist. Anyone ever use him?

Hmm, I wasnt aware that you were allowed to draft girls to the NHL? But of course it had to be Islanders to do something so stupid, but still

Is that a girls name? I'm guessing most people in North America wouldn't know that. As for women being drafted into the NHL, I don't think there have been any but we did have Manon Rheaume (sp?) play a preseason game. There was another female goaltender that was signed by a team but never played too. I can't remember her name. Both were publicity stunts back in the 90's.

Yeah, Åsa is swedish girls' name.
Pretty cool, but it must be quite unusual that players with a girl name appears as regens.

I did a search in the game for staff with Åsa as their first name and there's some so players can be named that as regens as it is in the swedish first name file.

There have been some girl slovakian lastnames in database too. I noticed that when I unchecked real names, and spotted a slovakian D with a name Lukas Tagova...we have similar naming as Russians...just weird

Anyone signed Stralman from the Swedish League? He's around 21/22 and looks a decent offensive d-man prospect.

Which goalie do you find turns out better in the long term, the Hasek regen in season 4 or the Canadian guy with the acrobatic style in season 5? I've no idea who the canadian is, but he was ranked #1 by ISL both pre-season and mid-season, but dropped to #2 for the final rankings. Anyone ever taken both goalies and found out which develops better?

I've got both, going to play the Hasek regen in the AHL for 2 years, then the Canadian won't be CHL eligable anymore so I'll put him as the AHL guy and hopefully Hasek regen can step up to NHL and take 40 games at that point (He's already a match on Weekes my currant backup lol, but I'd rather he played every game in the AHL for now).
