well i got back into the game and now playing with my Yotes again, just finished our 2007-2008 season, finished 9th because we couldn't get it going in the second half of the season. Partly to blame is the Overuse of Niittymaki, mainly since we got in a battle to stay in the playoff hunt and Auld kept dropping games left and right. my roster right now is pretty decent.
Doan-Reinprecht-Vrbata
Wellwood-York-Grabovsky
Fischer-Mike Richards-Dingman
Joel Perrault-Kaigorodov-Kapanen

Väänänen-Morris
Boynton-Michalek
Matvichuk-Warrener

Of course those wern't my starting lines but i lost a couple guys to injury and so i had to run them, Kapanen was the worst with his 6.54 rating ](*,)

I lost Pandolfo to injury, Gained Richards on a offer sheet (lost my second rounder). Right now i have a pretty stocked farm system but most of the guys are going to be hanging around with SA for at least another year before getting called up. SA SHOULD have won the cup this year but towards the end of the season we lost Lisin and Hamil to injury and pretty much seemed to zap the team in the playoffs. before the injuries the lines looked pretty good

Mueller-Hamil-Lisin
Redenbach-Pestunov-Lehoux
Hanzal-Ferriero-Thomas
Carcillo-Latendresse-Latal

Yandle-Stephenson
Matt Jones-Brendan Bell
Rohloff-Ruggeri

Plus we had two great Goalies with LeNeveu (always seems to be great in AHL) and Magliarditi

Magliarditi was amazing i was able to split about 40 games between the two of them just due how well he played. He finished 27-7-2 with a 2.48 GAA

Pretty much with the coyotes i'm going to let Reinprecht go to FA, move York to the first line and Kaig up to the second line. then in 2009, York well go and probably Mueller will come up to play either the first or second line.

As for Hamil, how long do you think i should wait before giving him the call up? i'm thinking at least til 2010, which would but him around 22 i think.

Lastly i got a good prospect farm. I got sutter when i ditched Jovo, and have Doyle, Blum, Bolzon, Turris, and Chris Summers plus so other rubbish guys

well if i get my issue fixed then i`ll using the leafs with a few changes in the start as i figure i might as well make the changes for good as i always make these changes in the game.

As of right now i`m a rebuilding nashville, i traded away all the other old player anyone 30 and over and signed a few younger guys and made some big moves. PS were so bad we lost to 15-0 to a islanders team minus 2 of their stars.

draft is soon and we have a total of 34 picks in hopes of draftnig a few good players.

You should try to trade some of your picks for another picks in the next years, because the first draft is usually not very deep and you would waste the majority of your draft picks.

Here's my best season (the most successful not the most interesting):
- won all 82 regular season games and also didn't loose in the playoffs.
- goals against avg 1.20
- goals for avg 6.15
- PP 24.2 %
- 22 shootouts
- 11 awards for my team

In that season it was Bobby Ryan who broke some records for me:
- 201 points (103 goals / 98 assists)
- +/- 113
- avg rating 9.87
- 6 awards

I was really proud of my team but it can become boring to win every game.
The following season Ryan even improved his goal totals to 106, the highest goal number i ever had. :-)

I am having an absolute blast with the Houston Aeros. I started the season with Long Beach, and signed a bunch of LNAH, SPHL, and Junior A players to tryouts to help the team out of the cellar, and was ultimately offered the Aeros job (they were 7-25-5) when I took over. I immediately made some changes to help the team out. I signed Brandon Hodge (who had been lighting me up in the ECHL with Stockton) and he became a stud, 8.60 rating. I also signed Mark Magliarditi (who was leading the ECHL in Sv% and GAA for Las Vegas) and then added Evan Beal on a 8-week tryout, and the team was well on its way to turnaround. I am currently at the end of February and the Wild just took both of my First Line Defenseman from me (Clayton Stoner and Shawn Belle) but thankfully also assigned me James Sanford. I was also able to get Joey Tetrenko back in game shape by assigning him to the Wildcatters for a month, so he is now back up in the AHL.

I am having a great time with this challenge, and although the team has no chance for the playoffs this season, I am looking forward to the 07-08 campaign.

I'm playing with the new jersey devils and i'm in the third season uding Lidas 1.0.

Here's my team:

M. Brodeur - B. Boucher

V. Hedman - S. Niedermayer
J. Hejda - H. Gill
M. Niskanen - R. Warrener

D. Heatley - O. Jokinen - N. Bergfors/G. Murray
P. Eaves - Z. Parise - N. Bergfors/G. Murray
J. Madden - S. Påhlsson - J. Pandolfo
T. Pihlman - J. Tavares - K. Calder

In Lowell I have Stamkos and Pietrangelo. Also Douglas Murray, Kevyn Adams and Pascal Rheaume who gets to play sometimes.

46 M$ cap hit

Now after two mediocre seasons my team is starting to rock. Got rid of a lot of vets and profile players like Rolston, Elias, Langenbrunner, White and traded away all low potential prospects. In the second season the board even decided to fire me cause they had no patience with my rebuild! But I applied for the job and got it back.
We are leading the eastern conference this season and Jokinen is leading the scoring race. He was an absolute stud on pace for 60 goals this season.. But now he is out for 8 months!

http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/al ... ic_id=1319

Tavares and Hedman is in their first seasons after spending extra year in juniors. Hedman is among the best scoring defensemen in the league and has a rating of 7.77. Tavares has a similar rating and is on pace for a 50 point season, wich is ok considering he is a fourth liner and second PP guy. The checking line seems to be working well (I always liked Påhlsson). Sometimes I swap Pandolofo for Leblond-Letorneau, sets his aggressiveness to max and asks him to go after the opposing top scorer or someone I hate..).

After several months I got back into the game.

Revamped with Lidas rosters, I chose Columbus Blue Jackets (I always wanted to manage this team to glory, but never really tried it). To my surprise, this team has a lot more offensive potential than I thought, guys like Nash, Umberger, Huselius, Torres, Modin and youngster Brassard provides a lot of action, they eventually ended up 2nd in team scoring in league.

In pre-season I did my first trade. Landed shopped-around Axelsson and Hnidy for Hejda, fair deal in my opinion. Then during October, I claimed LaCouture from waivers to complete my checking line. Unfortunately, Leclaire got injured in November for three weeks, and because of lack of goalie depth (my goalie Mason has absolutely no chance of getting 3 consecutive shutouts), I played three weeks with results like 4-6, 6-7ot, 5-7, and so on. After Leclaire returned, things have improved, and since Colorado acquired Biron from Philadelphia (What the Dickens?) I traded sucky goalie prospect and depth player Steve Kelly for Andrew Raycroft (they personally wanted that particular guy, it was in 'Interested' column).

My original plan wasn't to get into playoffs, I wanted to get rid of Modin at trade deadline, and acquire some younger gun, but after highly-succesful December, I found myself at 4th spot in conference. I changed my plan to land a skilled D (because though I scored 290 goals, I allowed 270, lol), I aimed at Brewer/Morris/Bouwmeester, Bouwmeester was my no. 1 choice, but the price was simply too high. They accepted Brewer and Morris trades (I had to go for just one of them, because they involved same players, D Backman and young prospect D Russell, pretty fair deal), but then the injuries came. Nash, Huselius, Brassard..I was crushed. I canceled the deals, but after few games, when it seemed that guys can move on without my first-line scoring, I went for plan B, to land a decent rental - Boynton. Price was pretty cheap, Backman (a 2.3m$ benchwarmer) + draft pick, I could keep Russell. I made it to the playoffs from 8th place.

AI did some very strange trades (as always) at the deadline. Dallas traded Ribeiro for Brewer, and Morrow for McCabe. :-/.

So playoffs...I beat Detroit in first round 4-2. Won first match 2-1, then lost twice 5-4, 10-2 O_O, but got back with three consecutive wins 3-2, 3-0, 3-2 and eliminated Detroit. Next were Sharks, I beat them in four, 5-4ot, 5-3, 5-4ot, 3-2ot, matching lines is really paying off in playoffs! I faced mighty Canucks in conference finals. Lost first game 3-1, for the next game I tried some barrage shooting at Mr. Luongo, but lost again 5-3. Then I turned the series around with four consecutive wins 4-1, 4-1, 3-1 and 4-3. Woot! Columbus made it to the Stanley Cup finals the first season they qualified for play-offs!

So here we go...Blue Jackets versus Sabres. They acquired Zubov and Conroy on deadline, while me? Just Boynton...lol. First game, comfortable win 4-1. Second game was a bit tougher, yet still I managed to win 5-3. With two home games ahead, it was looking pretty good for the Jackets! Unfortunately, I lost both games, 5-4ot and 4-1. So I returned for another trip to Buffalo, where they beat me for third straight loss 4-3. They were leading 3-2 in the series, and I started to be pretty nervous. Luckily, I won 3-2 the next game and it was all down to seventh game in Buffalo. It was 3-3 after 60 minutes, no goal in OT1, Buffalo scored on powerplay in OT2. Huge frustration, I tell you. I made it this far, It was all down to one last goal, and they just beat me to it. Nash got injured halfway through OT1, it doesn't matter now. I am dissapointed. I guess I wrapped up the whole season. I gotta a bit of work to do in offseason, Have to sign some depth center, and of course - a huge Dman.

Stanley Cup runner-up roster:

P. Leclaire - A. Raycroft

J. Hejda - M. Commodore
M. Methot - F. Tyutin
K. Russell - N. Boynton | Russell was replaced by Hnidy during play-offs

R. Nash - R.J. Umberger - K. Huselius
R. Torres - D. Brassard - F. Modin | Most of the play-off, Brassard had been replaced with M. York
J. Chimera - M. Malhotra - J. Novotny | Novotny had poor run during play-offs, so Malhotra went RW, Chimera C, and Picard was LW
D. LaCouture - M. Peca - P.J. Axelsson | checking line

youngsters playing on occasions: A. Picard, J. Voracek, M. Mayorov, S. Mason, T. Hendrikx

Some notes:
-Absolutely no unrealistic trades
-Stay as close to team budget as possible
-I watch the games myself + my own tactics
-Try to focus on balanced approach
-I manage my AHL team Syracuse, because of youngster's training

i Just started a new one with Lidas 1.1 as Vancouver

Heres how it looks

Sundin - H. Sedin - D. Sedin
Grabner - Demitra - Bernier
Burrows - Bolland - Kesler (quite the lineup, really quite good)
Hordichuk - Wellwood - Ouellet

Ohlund - Mitchell
Bieksa - Salo
Nycholat - Edler

Luongo
Sanford

I am currently just 10 games in with a 7-2-1 record sitting at 1st in the league, but I am Vancouver, i'm sure i'll be fighting for 9th place in the West by the end of it.

Other notes. Traded a 7th round pick for Chelios, then he got injured, and turns out i don't need his depth anyways, and also traded a 6th round pick for PJ Axelsson

Being that its year 1 of Lidas 1.1, My rookies don't stand a chance against the likes of Malkin and Wolski, but should do well

3 1st year guys playing for me (Edler, Bolland, and Grabner)

I'm mid-October of the '09-'10 season, managing both Vancouver and Toronto. Toronto is under my name, so it is my top priority but I am having better luck with the Canucks than rebuilding the Leafs. Using the original DB, never been one to pay attention to practises which probably hinders me, but I will pick up on it eventually I am sure.

Salaries got out of control, my own fault for signing all my prospects with CHL rights (In college and Europe) so that I can put them into the junior leagues. Went so far as to dump Naslund and Morrison, no trade or waiver takers so I had to release them. I thought I'd be in for a rebuilding year, but thanks to prospects and depth the team is actually quite strong. Angelo Esposito wound up on the roster in his first pro season due to offset the offensive loss of Morrison up the middle, but so far he's got 6 points in three games (3G+3A) with a 9.67 rating. Not so much luck for T.O, as the cap clearing (Including releasing Mats Sundin, which was painful) was done in September with no time left to adequately fill the holes. I predict a high draft pick in 2010 for the Buds.

CURRENT LINEUPS

Maple Leafs

Grabovsky - Drury - Jagr
Rupp - Weiss - Voutilainen
Fedoruk - M. Koivu - Suglobov
Van Riemsdyk - Wiemer - MacLean
-Westrum

Kaberle - McCabe
Malik - Michalek
Ranger - Spiller
-Gervais

Niittymaki - Caron

Prospects: Teubert, Sandberg, Rooney, Tlusty

Vancouver Canucks

Sedin - Sedin - Zherdev
McArdle - Esposito - Wilsie
Marcel Hossa - McClement - King
Dingman - Leino - Ortmeyer
-Ryan Craig

Ohlund - Martin
Scuderi - Novak
Bourdon - Jokela
-Lampman

Luongo - Conklin

Prospects: Bubnick, Edgerton, Ius, Shattock

Just finished a little project with the database where I replaced Ottawa Senators for a new fictitious team called Ottawa Bankers as Scotiabank got the rights to add a new team.

Didnt transfer any player or staff contracts but created some staff. CEO of Scotiabank is the President, Eric Lindros is Chairman, Trevor Linden is Mananging Director and Peter Forsberg is Director of Personnel.

Have signed Pat Quinn as Ass. Gm, Roger Melin as Head Coach, Craig Hartsburg, George Kingston, Bob Hartley and Peter Laviollete as Ass. Coaches and then 4 scouts and 2 trainers.

Signed Heatley, Spezza and Gerber from the former Senators. Signed Shanahan and Thibault from free-agency and traded away draft-pick #6 for Per-Johan Axelsson and #7 for Sergei Federov... and now im just bidding on about every single UFA defenseman.

We'll see how it goes :joy:

Heh. Just started a game in Lidas DB. Using Canucks.

Not even through training camp and exhibition...

1. Luongo goes down with a groin injury for 3 weeks.
2. Sundin breaks a finger and is out for two weeks.

Perfect!!!

Lines:

D Sedin- H Sedin - Bernier (working well with them so far)
Pyatt-Wellwood-Demitra
Burrows-Kesler-Hansen
Hordichuk-Johnson-Raymond

Ohlund-Salo
Mitchell-Bieksa
O'Brien-Edler

Sanford
Labarbara (traded Cowan and a prospect for him...a goalie guy who will never make the Nucks)

IR: Luongo, Sundin

Traded Krog for a 4th, lost Baumgartner on waivers to Atlanta.

The idea here is to stick with Canucks only. Not going to deal for anything else, and I have already used up my trade a guy for a pick...which is why I lost Baumer.

batdad, I swear Luongo is made of glass in the minds of the EHM AI. At almost the exact same point of the first two seasons (February in 2007 and March of 2008) he tore his UCL in-game and was gone for four months.

Thankfully, he seems to have gotten over that hump. *knocks on wood*

I had him go out for 4 months after game 2 of the season.. right after i traded Sanford.. Steve Shields ended up my main man for those 4 painful months.. i managed to stay around 8th.. and yet Luongo was still picked for the all-star game.. he had 9GP with 8 Wins... =D>

Just finished my 2nd season with the Coyotes using Lidas V1.1 update, and am just playing Blackhawks in the 1st round of the playoffs.

Stats wise the 2nd season wasn't as good as the first due to not being able to play my desired line-up until mib February due to many injuries. ](*,)

My line up is as follows:

Vanek - Jokinen - Lisin
Pouliot - Meuller - Doan
Fedoruk - Garlock - Parker
Carcillo - Winnick - Lidell

Jonavovski - Semenov
Eminger - Morris
Pardy - Bouwmeester

Bouwmeester came in at trade deadline day for goalie prospect Montoya and some draft picks. Vanek came in at the start of the season for Hanzal and a few depth players.

My defense was in desperate need of strengthening and due to injuries has been chopped and changed alot this season and conceded 253 goals, but I think next season I should have a more settled defense that should do very well.

Forward-wise I am very happy with the line up. Alexander Nikulin, who has been tearing it up in the AHL for two season will come in for Winnick to give him a shot at the big time. Pouliot came in towards the end of the season to complete the 2nd line which desperately needed a scorer when Doan was injured and after a slow start he ended up scoring 21 pts in 26 games.

Kyle Turris will get another season in the AHL along with some other good prospects I have waiting in the wings. Doan will be 34 next year so I will need to try to find someone who can come in to fill his boots. Eminger should be able to step up into Jovo's boots in a couple of seasons.

Aims for the off-season is to get a good netminding prospect as Telqvist is my only back up at the moment and they I will be set and will be disappointed if the team doesn't challenge up at the top of the conference and make it deep in to the playoffs before Doan and Jovanovski get too old.

End of season 3 with my Blues (Original DB).. yet to make the Playoffs.. Finished 29th.

Lineups as of end of season

Heatley - Gomez - S. Kapanen
Oshie - Datsyuk - Kahnberg
M. LeClerc - Nieuwendyk - Linden
Parros - B. McLean - Kostopoulos

McKee - E. Johnson
Backman - Dykhuis
Wallin - Dubinin

Konstantin Barulin
Steve Shields

I know my goaltending is really weak. But i gave a rookie a chance and he ended up after 64 games played he was 21-18-5 with a 4.00 GAA and a .884 SV% and an AVR of 7.59 and 2 shut outs, 1 better than Josh Harding... Bettman trying to take away my Calder candidate.. haha, like Barulin would get it.. He was selected for the Russian World Championship team though.

Oh and how I ended up with Shields... ok well my #1 goalie.. well.. not really.. but, Manny Legace was pissin me off, and Noronen was garbage aswell.. so i traded them and signed on Shields as my backup and let Barulis go for it figuring I was screwed anyways, especially after starting the season 0-9-1

Logan Couture will hopefully be a force next season with Stephen Lund on defense, maybe bring Tyson Sexsmith out of the ECHL to the AHL, he had a remarkable season in the ECHL posting a 38-6-7 record 1.58 GAA and a .944 SV% 8.55 AVR, he woulda played in Vancouver, but they dropped his rights.

Oh well, bring on Tavares. Hopefully I win the lottery, otherwise i'll take Steve Anthony

to add a bit more of a challenge i have fired all my trainers, so now my teams i control (Toronto, Calgary, Montreal) have alot more injuries and alot more ACL sprains and tears....two of my star players on toronto(defence and goalie) both are out 6 and 8 months and my star player on Calgary is out for 2 months :)

Also with Montreal i only draft and play french canadian players (and nfld/lab), with the odd exception. :)

You guys should try this in your games, if you haven't already.

I do like the idea of having no trainers. I've also liked injuries cause they're a great "excuse" to bring young players to the roster. :-k

Not sure if I want to restrict my picks to a certain nationality, I get plenty of that playing in SM-liiga, where only four foreigners are allowed.

Well as a floow up to my post earlier I made it through to the Stanley Cup Final with relative easy in the playoffs.

Won the first game against Ottawa.............and got HAMMERED in the following 4 games! 4-0, 5-2, 3-1 and 5-1. I did have Morris injured for all the games but it's still no excuse. :dunno:

Oh well, there's always next season to look forward to. lol

Lidas 1.1 Canucks. 38 games in. 1st place. Doing okay. Had Pyatt go down for four months. At one point Luongo, Pyatt and Bieksa were all hurt. just missing the SAmi Salo curse so far.

Lineup

D Sedin-H Sedin-Demitra
Wellwood-Sundin-Bernier
Burrows-Kesler-Landon Wilson (waiver wire--explain in a sec)
Jaffray-Johnson-Hordichuk
Oulett

Mason Raymod and Jannik HAnsen are just not ready at the start of my game. Both averaging low 6's early, so claimed Wilson on waivers and moved these two down, called up Oulett and Jaffray. Jaffray is doing okay, 6.5 and Oulett is fairly alright.

Ohlund-Salo
Mitchell-Edler
O'Brien-Bieksa
Nycholat-Davison

Luongo
Labarbera

Bieksa is weak, really annoying actually..think he needs an upgrade in the db, and will mention at some point to Lidas. Burr/Kes are having okay games, then bad, then a good one...then bad. Just average guys...not a Selke candidate like Kesler is in real life.

Mitchell--is average. Edler is real good, as is O'Brien. Labarbera beat out Sanford so Curtis was waived and down on the farm teaching Schneider as not picked up.

On the farm--Grabner cannot even stay with the Moose. He is freaking horrible. Oh, and I lost Krog to Chicago on waivers, and Baumer to Atlanta. SO Manitoba with the exceptions of Hansen, Raymond, Sanford, Schneider is freaking horrible.

Demitra is lights out and on pace for 50 goal season, as is Daniel.

Edit: how could I forget. I had dealt Kirill Koltsov's rights to Montreal for Tom Kostopolous originally to have him play and send Hansen and raymond down. Then....I was scouting the Bruins, and Milan Lucic (whose numbers have a decent upgrade in the Lidas db) was there, and looked good. So I dealt Kostopoulos and rights to Shirokov (who is decent 3rd liner) for Milan Lucic. I could not resist....Milan is now developing in Manitoba instead of barely playing in Boston.

I signed Landon Wilson from waivers too in season 1 of my Coyotes game. Must say I didnt have too high hopes for him but I was still disappointed with him. I tried him on the checking line, didnt work out, then tried him with a couple of young on the 4th line (Meuller and Roy) hoping his experience would help out and he did badly there too.
