You could say the one thing about being winless is: I know exactly how many games I've played so far.
0-9-0 and counting, but I think we've turned a corner.
Traded for Jamal Mayers to beef up my PK and general defensive presence, and we only lost the last one 2-1.
As a point of reference, heading into the game, macDonald led my goalies in GAA at slightly under 6.

Peterman: The sim is NOT, I repeat NOT random. Tactics affect the outcomes big time. Use the wrong ones, use too many different ones you in trouble. Mine are varied just enough that my team does fairly well. Some teams I have had have been deadly, others just pretty darn good.
Trust me, it ain't random...you may just be struggling trying to figure out how it works.

Sorry, by random i meant how the sim and scouting reflects on prospects and players.batdad wrote:Peterman: The sim is NOT, I repeat NOT random. Tactics affect the outcomes big time. Yeah, too bad people have to steal the game and not pay for it making it not financially viable to continue producing.batdad wrote:That is not the sim, that is the database. Some players are random with their attributes. if the game was EXACTLY the same every time people would not be here three years after it came out.

Yuck. I made that one up. Never even tried it. Just part of the story telling....
I have had both those Ducks and hated em both. They were average at best. Well Beauchemin was okay, but man did not like that other Ducklehead Kunitz. I have never had the Panther guys. Oh, BTW they are both doing great for me....7.5 ratings each and above in 10 games or so, just below a pt per game on third line.
Correction: I have had Stewart in my Nuckleheads game, but after the deal I only got about 3 games in with him, and then the challenge started. I have him 2 years earlier in his career in this game. We shall see. Not to worried about what Hilbert et al are up to.

You must not hav elooked hard enough. There was a bit of a dustup over this queation before the challenge began. You may sign players you already have in your organization (either contracted or prospects you own the rights to) at any time.Peterman5000 wrote:I didnt find anything in the rules regarding this question so I'll just ask.
I'm nearing the Christmas break and I wanted to get some impeding free agents locked up.
Can i offer new contracts to players at any time during the season?
Consider it the Forsberg/Shannahan Rule

Right. You can re-sign your RFAs at any time. You are not allowed to sign UFAs (other than the 3 allowed young UFA signings) in the first season, period. Starting with season 2, you are allowed to sign 2 UFAs each season, but only during the allowed time. Peterman, please, please, please, go back and read the rules again. It's right in there.jbsnadb wrote:You must not hav elooked hard enough. There was a bit of a dustup over this queation before the challenge began.
