FYI, Alex Burrows signed a 4 year contract extension at $2mil per year.

Excellent job with the rosters in all leagues. I've done a real quick season and the results have been excellent.

I'm not including any contract extention until the next season starts. They mess up the team budgets too much :-k

I'm big on editing the players, so I'll try to help you out with that by giving my two cents. I'll start with my favourite team and go through every player and prospect in the organization.

But, first and foremost, the latest 2008 draftees need a big boost, especially since a lot of them are playing big roles on teams.

Stamkos, Schenn, Doughty, Bogosian, Sbisa, Bailey and others all need to be boosted to NHL regular stats.

Anyway, I'll start this with the Toronto Maple Leafs:

LWers:
Jason Blake (LW/RW/C) - Seems fine, nothing to change, other than a minor edit to his positions (He plays both wings much much more than center)
Alexei Ponikarovsky (LW/RW) - Also seems fine.
Niklas Hagman (LW/RW) - I don't know how he morphed so drastically, but his playing style is much different than his EHM stats dictate. He has a lot more flare and skill playing with the Maple Leafs, and isn't used much in PK situations. He is also not as strong or as physical as his stats suggest. Therefore boost his flair, stickhandling, deking and decrease his strength and hitting.
Brad May (LW/RW) - not much to note, although he seems to work harder than his 9 rating suggests.
Jiri Tlusty (LW/C) - At 20yrs old he is a dominant AHL player. I don't know if it is homerism but I do suggest he gets a stat boost. 13 in vision and passing, 14 in wrist shot, stuff like that.
Kris Newbury (LW/C) - Despite not being able to translate his offense into the NHL, he IS a scoring player in the AHL, as well as a pest/enforcer. His skill and shot should be boosted, as well as his fighting.
Ryan Hollweg (LW/C/RW) - Nothing to change other than adding RW.
Ryan Hamilton (LW) - I haven't watched him play much, but from what I've read he is a decent skater, decent shot, power forward type player. Not much NHL upside other than a 4th liner. Can fight, decently.
Stefano Giliati (LW) - Just leave him with random scrub stats. Perhaps he'd be a decent ECHL player, but he can't even crack the Marlies Clear Day roster.
Bates Battaglia (LW/RW) - Everything is fine with him, but he plays RW on a line with Tlusty and Stapleton irl so he should have that second position.

C:
Matt Stajan (C/LW) - Should have a boost in his work ethic and defensive play. He is a PK specialist and blocks shots very well. Very slight boost to his checking and hitting. He is by no means a tough player but his 7 in hitting is just too little. His offensive stats deserve a slight boost after the season he has as well. Also, tack on a bunch of Influence/Leadership points.
Mikhail Graboski (C/LW) - Seems fine. Perhaps bump his work ethic, he is a DEMON when it comes to backchecking and working hard. Sadly that doesn't make him a good defensive player, but he tries! Also a slight boost to creativity and flair may be in order.
John Mitchell (C/LW) - plzplzplzplz fix johnny boy. He's had a great season for the Leafs playing in a bottom 6 role. He is fast and hard to move off to puck (i.e boost his speed/acceleration and balance greatly), and he skated faster than BLAKE in the TML skating competition. As for his other stats, he is a very very balanced player, I personally give him 12 in most of his stats, 11 in some of his "weaker" ones (his passing isn't very good I figure), and I gave him a 13 to wristshot (he's got a good shot). Also, give him at least a 105 rating.
Tim Stapleton (C/LW) - boost in offensive stats. He has broken the record for Marlies scoring and is a dominant AHL player, and did not look too bad in the NHL in his brief stint.
Andre Deveaux (C/RW) - give him a slight boost in offensive categories and speed. He is an AHL enforcer but he has broken out this season and has shown he can be a scorer in the AHL.
Tyler Bozak (C) - Don't know much about him. IMO he should be left a college FA and let people playing EHM try to sign him when season ends. One thing I do know is he needs a big boost and was highly sought after and is a finalist for the Hobey Baker. Is expected to step in and challenge for the Leafs' second line center spot next season.
Chris Hanson (C/RW/LW) - Same as above. Is already playing for the Leafs and hasn't looked too bad, a goal and two pts in 4 games. Big body guy who looks like he'll make a home infront of the net. Kinda reminds me of Ponikarovsky in the way that he is big but he is not very physical. Deflections should be big for him.
Daryl Boyce (C/LW) - boost speed and defensive stats, give him so aggressiveness and bravery too? Checking and hitting should be average, say 13.
Alex Foster (C/RW) - decent AHLer, is more skilled than boyce and less effective defensively. Not as physical either.

RW:
Lee Stempniak (RW/C) - Lower his consistency, and up his aggressiveness and anticipation a bit..
Nikolai Kulemin (RW/LW) - Looks fine.
Boyd Deveraux (RW/C) - Looks fine.
Jeff Hamilton (RW/C) - Looks fine. (and by looks fine I mean they should be switched to RW!)
Jamal Mayers (RW) - Should be more of a PK specialist, so boost his defensive stats.
Ben Ondrus (RW/C/LW) - For some odd reason Ben Ondrus started playing center. I don't know how or why but give him that position I guess. Boost his faceoffs too :/
Jeremy Williams (RW/C) - don't call me a homer, but he should have a 16 or higher in wristshot. His shot is ****ing massive. The rest of his game isn't good though. Leave as is than a wristshot boost, and perhaps and getting open boost.
Brent Aubin (RW) - Can't even crack Clear Day list, AHL fodder.
Kyle Rogers (RW) - decent 4th liner in the AHL, leave as is or round out his defensive game a bit.
Alex Berry - (RW) - tremendous forechecker or so I hear, good hitter, might be a decent fighter too.

I'll take a break for now. Let me know if you want some more concrete "scouting reports" about certain players on any team, or perhaps I can show you the changes I made to these players.

Thanks. Done a lot of work here. Once the season is over, Im gonna re-calculate all player abilities, and especially all the younger players will be boosted.

Just a little correction, I put down C/LW for Stapleton, but that should be C/RW.

I'll continue with the Leafs D.

D:
Tomas Kaberle (LD) - All clear.
Pavel Kubina (RD/LD) - reduce speed to around 13, reduce his hitting a bit, overall downgrade him very slightly. Up his slapshot, though.
Mike Van Ryn (RD/LD) - Also needs some slight downgrading. his 16/16 in pokecheck and positioning can be bumped down to 15/15, and hitting a bit lower too. Also bump his slapshot though.
Jeff Finger (LD/RD) - Firstly, up his offensive potential. It's at a 7 but Jeff Finger is actually a decent option offensively. Boost his offensive stats slightly (15 in slapshot)
Ian White (RD/RW) - This will definately be homerism but Ian White has been downright fantastic for the Leafs this season. I gave him a lot of boosting, I admit. Firstly, up his aggresion and bravery. He is a small bro but he is ferocious back there. I'd up his fighting a bit as well. Also, for a small dude he is apparently the stronger player on the leafs so a boost in strength would be in order, I'm thinking around 15. Up his slapshot slightly, and make his wrist shot 1 point less than his slapper. Both his shots are good. Massive boost to his defensive stats, he has become quite reliable. I gave him 13/15 in pokecheck/positioning. Up his hitting as he has been much more physical this year as well as checking. Deking has always been a good thing for him too so make that decent :)
Luke Schenn (RD/LD) - I'll just give you the stats I gave him. 15/12 in pokecheck/positioning, 12 in his speed categories, 17 in hitting and strength, 13 in leadership, good work rate, 17 in bravery and a 15 in aggresiveness, good anticipation and decent passing (10? 11?). One thing to note is irl his shot is awful, so a 8/6 for slap/wrist shot looks fine to me. His stickhandling is much better than advertised, I would go with a 9 there. Deking is a fine point too as on multiple occasions he has shown the hands to do a little deke (shootout for maple leafs and breakaway at young stars game are proof) so an 11 or 10 there is fine.
Jonas Frogren (LD) - looks alright, make his aggresiveness high and model his stats so that he is like Jeff Finger except not as good :) He's about a 2 in speed stats as well.
Jamie Sifers (RD/LD) - Looked fine in his callups, he is a smaller bro but he is a decent hitter (14 in hitting/checking), and is a darn fine shot blocker (14 in positioning, but maybe a 12 in pokecheck). He's average offensively.
Phil Oreskovic (RD) - My new favourite bro, haha, big ol lead foot was awesome in his call up and has been very very good in the AHL despite everyone thinking he wouldn't have even been there by now. He is slow (10 in speed stats) but is a big hitter and a pretty good fighters (18 in bravery, 17 in aggression, 17 in hitting, a little less in checking). Pokecheck/positioning i go with 14/12. His offensive is limited but not brutal (he has an NHL goal lol).
Anton Stralman (RD/LD) - ah, the next Kaberle (or so we hope). Basically he is a Kaberle type player but is more of a shooter than a passer. Fast, flashy, but needs to work on his strength and his defensive game. the 14/13 for his shots has always been good. Perhaps boost his deking as he has a couple of nice moves (youtube his end-to-end against montreal last year!)
Jay Harrison (LD) - signed as a filler late in the season, he's actually looked pretty good. Give him modest stats befitting a slightly physical and solid d-man.
Reitz, Heward, and Rogers - I don't know these players at all and cannot help you :/

G:
Toskala - Inconsistent. Although on a good day I think he is better than his EHM stats, but he's so darn inconsistent.
Pogge - Slight boost, but overall he has not shown anything
Joseph - If anything a downgrade
Gerber - Fine.
Kolzig - For the sake of anything, just put him on IR for 7 months or something.
Reimer - Here's to a big boost. Reimer has been absolutely lights out for his ECHL team in the stretch run (something like < 1.50 GAA and perfect record). He is proving that the Leafs have some goalie depth and is probably already a better prospect than Pogge was at this stage (One could argue that Pogge should have spent part of his first pro season developing in the ECHL but that arguement is for another day!). Anyway, Reimer is a big kid who uses his size the angle himself well, but for a big guy he is also technically sound.

I think that's sums the Leafs contracted players up, I'll start with some prospects.

Jimmy Hayes - RW - Should be in the Boston College program IIRC. He is a very big man but doesn't use his size effectively yet, but he is working on it. Is very skilled for a big guy though. Boom or bust prospect that could end up as a good powerfoward.

Mikhail Stefanovich (?? I swear he changes positions daily! He's listed as C, LW and RW in different articles and sites! But I'd go with RW/LW for him) - Big big goalscorer who fell in his draft year because of work ethic issues but no one doubts his 1st round talents. This year he worked on his work ethic and is now a huge prospect and late round steal for the Leafs. Is starting to use his size more effectively from when I've read, but he is very skilled goalscorer. Upside is top-6 forward.

Joel Champagne (C) - Slow but very good defensive player and physical. One of the best faceoff guys in junior (I'm thinking 15 in faceoffs). Had a sub par start to his QJMHL season until he was traded to PEI and is now lighting it up, another solid prospect. Upside is a 3rd liner powerforward type.

I'll continue later on.

I just looked at 1.2 and I know the Values are going to be re-evaluated but I noticed that Cody Hodgson is lower than Joh Tavares when Hodgson has clearly been the better this year (World Champs as evidence). Gratz and Thanks for the uplaod though =D>

Uh, there is no way Cody Hodgson is better than JT. JT dominated the OHL when he was 16. Each year after that is just him coasting and waiting for it to end.

Hodgson should be better but he's not Tavares material just yet. A few Canucks who seem to be quite underated in every DB are Burrows, Kesler, Bieksa and Mitchell. I always end up trading them because they just plain out suck in the game.

One thing that i have noticed is that som players, both goalies and skaters, have the wrong shot-hand.

For example both R.J Umberger and Jakub Voracek are listed as Right-handed in the game when they in fact are Lefties.

At the moment i am at work but as soon as i get home i could go through the NHL-rosters and post the players that have the wrong hand here, if someone is interested?

I've noticed one as well. Steve Bernier should be listed as right-handed.

There is only one Middletown in the database, so it will have to do for now.

not sure if this has been mentioned, but the entry level contracts are off for players who are considered hot prospects for the future. it's mostly for the players 22 and under with potentials -8 or -9 (using the UK pre-game editor configuration); some of their salaries go up to 2mil.

Lidas,

Not sure if anyone has brought this up already but I saw one mistake in the new roster update.

Sean Avery's cap hit with the Rangers is his full salary at $3.875 mil. The Rangers picked him up on re-entry waivers in which the Stars and Rangers are responsible for $1.938 mil each in terms of money and salary cap hit.

My guess is you'd need to make his salary $1.938 mil and then give the Stars a cap penalty for the next 3 years (4 if including this year) of the same amount.

Love the new database, but the deadline deals really put a lot of teams over the cap. That's my feedback so far but thaks for the hard work.

I don't know if this has been fixed in ver 1.3 but I'm playing ver 1.2 in the challenge and I've found that NHL teams are able to offer Zack Kassian a contract even though he is 17 years old and hasn't been drafted yet. Something is screwy there.

Bit of a bump, but does anyone know how to fix this?

i would like to see the enforcers get an update if that is possible!

For example Raitis Ivanans 6 ft 3 and weight 258 pounds he doesnt have 20 in Strength and he weights 244 pounds on the game. like that kind of stuff make the enforcers get som more focus!

if this not is to much work!

Do you realize how many enforcers there are in the game? It's definitely too much work. If you change the size of some players you change their performances thus you would need to change the size of other players, too. And does it really matter if a guy is 258 instead of 244 pounds? 8-)
