Washington Capitals: Challenge 1.2 (Season 2)

Post by Minstrel »

Okay amigos, we will be wrapping up Challenge 1's first season soon. Mostly due to the patch/unfaking issue I'm leaning toward wrapping it by early to mid January.

So, while it is certainly not to late for someone to take up the Washington Challenge let's talk about "what next?" for those of us who have completed the Challenge!

We will be hosting a Second Season Challenge with our Capitals teams. Simply, we just continue on under the same rules with our Washington teams we have guided through their first season.

Some things to mention:

Our rule about only trading picks for the upcoming draft remains in effect at all times, so after the 2006 draft you can then only trade your picks for the 2007 draft. Those 2007 picks cannot be dealt until after the draft in summer of 2006 (as long as 2006 picks exist you can't deal your 2007 picks).

It may happen that different participants Boards will grant them a different increase in budget for the 2006-2007 season. You will still be held to that amount, whatever it is. Before you post your scores for your first segment of games you need to post a screenshot of your budget screen so we know what that number is.

We'll just continuing to use our current "chatter" thread. We will also continue to use the same recording thread; this is when it is extra important to begin your post with what challenge you are reporting for!! Start your posts for this season out like this "Challenge 1.2, Washington, Games 1-20" so there isn't any confusion. Start from a new Challenge Recording sheet It is still available as a download if you need to get a new sheet.

If you will playing in the upcoming Challenge 2.1 Team TBA... you can before starting that Challenge choose to install the unfaking database to use with that new Challenge team. It will not negatively affect your Washington game.

Great! Looks like we will have a good sized group of combatants :guns:

Just to update by saying the same thing over again :-p We'll start as soon as the patch is released which they havve tentatively said will be "next week". Of course if I announced we'd start today they'd release it tommorow 8-) Instead we'll just wait. More time/less excuse for people to not have read the announce threads with the rules and downloaded and read the instructions on their Challenge Recording Chart :minty: :-D

:-D

I am actually playing with Washington right now, but it is with 2.0.2. I am playing because I have some old saved games that I played before my computet got the trojan. I'm in 2008 now, but the team can't reach the playoff. :nerd: ](*,)

Washington Season 2

Post by Devils88 »

After 22 Games in Season 2 i stand 16-5-1 at the moment.
Fired Head Coach Hanlon and signed Ted Nolan. Also got Craig Hartsburgh as Assistant.
made some major changes in the offseason after playoff desaster:
Priority was a offensive first or second line center, and some reliable players for 3rd and 4th line.
also 2 D-Man for depth, cause of dumping Orpik and Eminger.

Gone to free agency: Bradley, Cassels, Verot, Muir and some minor leaguers.

Signed from Free Agency: Jamie Langenbrunner, Alyn McCauley, Shane Hnidy.

Trades: got Rob Niedermayer (ANA) for rights to Zalesak and a 7th Rounder(07) - not that good, no goals after 22 games, on black list
got Jiri Fischer (DET) for rights to Petr Sykora and 5th Rounder (07) - first line D-Man. really good. was transferlisted.
got Zach Parise (NJ) for rights to Morrisonn, Hedman and a 6th Rounder (07) - WOW 1st line C, 12g13a superb..wanted him all of last year, but now got transferlisted
got Jay McKee (PHI) for Sutherby and rights to Machesny. - was transferlisted.

Drafted:
15- Jamie McGinn - OHL
37- Neil Conway - OHL
42- Ryan Wilson (on my Team, looks promising)
45- Michael Forney - College
75- Vladimir Zharkov - Hershey
105- Jonas Enlund - Hershey
116- Oskar Osala - Hershey
130- Janne Nieminen - noe ECHL

Dumped:
Brooks Orpik for 3rd Rounder(07) to Wild
Steve Eminger for 3rd Rounder (07) to Canadiens
Mike Green for 5th Rounder (07) to Panthers

claimed from Waivers:
Garth Snow (cause Caron is number1 goalie and Biron was shaky and has 2 mio loan, not sure if i trade him)
Daniel Sedin from VAN.

On my Trading-Block:
Brendan Witt (requested a Transfer, thats why i brought in Jay McKee)
Sergei Brylin (too much Centers at the Moment)
Rob Niedermayer (don't know why i traded for him, big sallary and only 0g, 11a in 22 games)

My Lines

Semin - Parise - Gionta
Ovechkin- McCauley - Brown
Sedin - Niedermayer - Halpern
Pettinger - Brylin - Langenbrunner
((Zubrus injured) - Ott - Gordon)

Fischer - Girard
Witt - Wilson
Jackman - Hnidy
(McKee - Ference - Davison)

Caron - Biron (Snow)

Scoring:
Semin 14-18-32
Gionta 13-15-28
Parise 12-13-25
McCauley 9-9-18
Ovechkin 5-13-18 went first 16games without a goal :-(..was really mad about him :-)
