Lidas Rosters 2009/2010 - New researchers

Post by Lidas »

Hi!

I've already started working on the 2009/2010 rosters. When working with the 2008/2009 rosters, I was very impressed with all the high quality work that Manimal put in. Because of this, I have given him a larger area of responsibility for the next version(s).

I will be working on NHL, the NHL draft, and the European leagues, whereas Manimal will be responsible for the rest of the North American leagues. Of course, everyone is welcome to help out, you can be responsible for either a league, or just post changes in the changes thead.

If you want to research a league, this is the information you need to gather:

1. League information.
- Promotions/Relegations, Reputation etc.

2. Team information.
- Arena, Reputation, Avg attendance, Training facilities, Colours, traded draft picks, etc.

3. Team Rosters
- Squad numbers, players in, players out (and where they went), contract length, etc.

4. New players
- New players who need to be created. In a PLAYER CREATION SHEET please. Height and Weight in cm/kg. Attributes can be left blank if you dont know them.

5. Staff
- GM, Head coach, Ass coaches, scouts, physios, staff in, staff to be created (and some info on them), staff out (and where they went) etc.

6. Player abilities
- Info on ALL players who played in the league the previous season, input in a "SHADDSHEET". If you want to, you can also add players who played in other leagues too, but that would be quite time-consuming.

7. In addition, it would also be great if you could keep sending me roster changes during the season.

Ive taken some research sheets previously made by me and Manimal, so you can see some samples. They can be downloaded HERE.

(Me and/or Manimal will explain more detailed if needed)

If you feel tempted to help out, please post here or send me a PM.

Cheers!

I don't think there's any point updating the Finnish SM-liiga next year, because the foreign rule will change.

In the game teams in Finland have four foreign player maximum. In real life this will change to the Elitserien style, where EU players will not be counted as foreign.

In another words with the 2009-10 updated rosters you could have a team with 10 EU players, out of which none would be counted as foreign in the new rules, but all would be foreign in EHM, making it impossible to use them.

Maybe you could work around it by adding a second nationality to them. I don't know if it'll work.

Going to be tough with the team changes etc... to get a proper representation of the league.

Do you move Manchester & Basingstoke down and move 2 EPL teams up who aren't around anymore(Chelmsford & Romford) and give them no budget and no players?
Or do you leave it how it is with the 10 teams and pretend like nothings changed? :dunno:

I'd also be willing to help you, and if there's 2 of us we could get the EPL done as well

True true.

But eventually you would still have to sign Finnish players.

Worth a try, I guess.

I'll chip in with the EPIHL if need be, and could maybe offer some help for the British junior league/ENL too. Like said above, structuring the British leagues is potentially going to be difficult, hopefully rumours of at least 1 more team joining the EIHL come true, but it will still probably be a bit unrealistic.

I could see what info I can get on the Scottish Leagues though with it being the off season it may be near the start of the season before most transfers happen. As for the Elite it is a tricky situation and perhaps Basingstoke and Manchester should stay there though some folk may want to try them in the EPL. It will be interesting to see how many teams are in the EPL next season my suggestion if there is a shortfall is to get some of the northern league teams - Dundee, Fife, Solway, Whitley etc involved or perhaps Dundalk Bulls involved to make up the numbers as these teams are not that far off the poorest EPL teams certainly closer than most ENL teams. Dundalk would maybe work well in the elite for the game as they have a significant amount of imports all be it not a great standard so they may be tricky to implement with the epls low import limit.

That all said its early days and it may even be that more teams leave the elite if they do not get a realistic grip of the tough financial times.

i think we should do an update where we use a savegame because i think players do not perform as good if they dont have expirience in the game. for example goalies suck until they have 2-3 seasons experience no matter how good thier stats is.

Saved game update has been tried and discussed a million times. There are numerous complications to it, to which I don't feel we need to get into, atleast not in this thread.

You are free to do one yourself and share it at TBL, if you like.

Timmi611 and Tom09, you dont need to create a Shaddsheet for DEL - I already did it a couple of weeks ago.
I also boosted DEL reputation to 12 to get better stats. if you want to take a look, you can download it here:

I was planning on doing O2 by myself, but sure, it's all yours =D>
Yes, excel (or open office) is the program we use.

I'll release everything after the summer, since the rosters aren't finished until then, so you have plenty of time.
Also, I had already gathered data and created a Shadsheet. You can download them here.

So, here is what I need from the researchers. Preferbly all in excel or open office.

1. League information.
- Promotions/Relegations, Reputation etc.

2. Team information.
- Arena, Reputation, Avg attendance, Training facilities, Colours etc.

3. Team Rosters
- Squad numbers, players in, players out (and where they went), contract length, etc.

4. New players

6. Player abilities
- Info on ALL players who played in the league the previous season, input in a "SHADDSHEET". If you want to, you can also add players who played in other leagues too, but that would be quite time-consuming.

Thanks everyone for signing up, and good luck!
