I decided half way through my second set of 20 to change up my tactics... and it seemed to have worked and I am gradually clawing my way to some sense of respectibility. Arnott is back which has helped, and the new tactics seem to be helping....though the goalies are absolutely dreadful to say the least.

sorry about that, eternium!
Yeah, they both had a contract with Predators when the game begins, so they're not unsigned prospects.
A little better start for me in season 2. But the team is pretty inconsistent, first winning Devils away 7-0 (5 goals in the first period, after the first 4 they changed Brodeur to Clemmensen, I quess it wasn't his day

de Vries went down with injury to start my second 20, and things could not be worse. After winning back-to-back nights to end November, we're currently on a 5-game losing streak.
Rinne has been sent down to work on his game in Milwaukee, and Ellis has hit a bit of a rough patch.
Time to switch the tactics...

Yeah, the guys that are under contract to the Predators but loaned back to their junior team are eligible to be traded and the trade details says "rights to" even though they are contracted.
Just remember to keep in mind that once you sign one of your prospects to a contract, you must keep him for a year before you can trade him! Guys like Blum and Pickard are already under contract when we start the game, so it's common to see them used in season 2 trades.

I had decent luck with Arnott's health in season 1 (except for missing the last few games of the season due to injury) but he's not off to the best start in season 2. He missed the first 7 games of season 2 due to injury and as a result of that, he's not quite hit his stride yet. He's normally good for almost 2 points a game. Right now he's got 11 points in 9 games. That's just not up to his usual standard. His linemates have suffered for this too. I hope they find their groove soon.

And in my game the Bruins have re-signed him and he's getting a little over $1M a year for the next few years. I don't get it.
I just made my second trade for the season. I sent Joel Ward and Scott Nichol to Calgary for Ryan Kesler. Ward wasn't doing anywhere near as good this season as he did in the first season. He had just 9 points in 21 games, playing on the 2nd line and 2nd PP unit. Nichol has been horrible for me since the beginning. He had only played 10 games with 1 point and a -3 for us this season. Kesler hadn't done much for the Flames yet though. He had 8 points in 20 games. I'll be looking to use his blazing speed on Legwand's right wing on both the 2nd line and the 2nd PP unit.

My team in year two is struggling a bit. I lost Jessiman on waivers and I am actually feeling his loss.bruins72 wrote:And in my game the Bruins have re-signed him and he's getting a little over $1M a year for the next few years. I don't get it.![]()

I am playing Geoffrion, Cliche and Glazachev, and they aren't performing. Ward is very good.
Wilson // Legwand // Cliche could be a good line. Cliche has very good speed.
Glazachev // Bonk // Ward is my third line. I should have kept Jessiman!!!

Yikes! That's rough. Goeffrion isn't anywhere near ready for the NHL. He's on my farm team in season 2 and he's not even one of the best players there. Which Cliche are you talking about? Was he a draft pick, UFA, or trade? I know there are a few Cliches in the game. I didn't sign Glazachev. How has he been? Good to see Ward still doing well in your game. He was great in season 1 of my game but he wasn't doing anything in season 2, so I made that trade. Speaking of the trade, a day or two later the Flames waived Nichols.
