Trouble with minor league clubs?

I'm using the most recent patch and I've noticed that I can't send any players down to one of my minor league clubs. It isn't even an option. Only once when I played a season did I have a "Send player to blank" option. I can't even coach games anymore because I have 30 some players on my roster and can't send any to the minors. I either have to release them or put them on waivers and hope they get claimed. Anyone have this problem or now how to fix it?

I'm not entirely sure but I think you should be able to send anyone down to your AHL team.
I think with your other minor league team there may be a limit as to how old the players can be or how many NHL-contracted players are in the team - I can't remember.

After you put them on waivers, you should be able to send them to the farm.

The players you want to sent down to the Minors need to have a "Two Way Contract"

. If they don't have they remain on your NHL Roster and you can can only let them clear Waivers or release them.

All that a "Two-Way Contract" means is that they will make a lower salary when playing in the Minors. It has no effect on whether or not they can be sent down.

Hmmmm. Question: I play NJ. Gionta (and many other prospects) signed a normal contract and i can't send him to the minors. Offered him a contract with "Two Way Clause" and i CAN send him to Albany, also with lower cost like you said. Thats the reason why "Two Way Clauses" exist. You sign a young player to a contract and he doesn't pan out - so can sent him down to the minors, and don't have him on your NHL Roster all the time.

What you're saying is a common misconception, but the real reason that two-way clauses exist is so that you don't have to pay the full NHL wage to a guy who spends time in the Minors. It has nothing to do with the ability to send a player to the minors. Any player can be sent to the minors (well, almost....there are a few youngsters who can't) provided they clear waivers first, if they are eligible for waivers. Some young players, and players who haven't played a certain number of games, are exempt from waivers (I don't have the energy to list the details here, but I might be able to find a link for you) so they can be sent down automatically, whether they have a two-way clause in their contract or not.

Is it perhaps the reason that the player has just signed a new contract that he can be sent to waivers? Does the contract renewal "reset" the number of games played/time on the first time with respect to waiver eligability?
