Great Now every team in Northwestern division has superb goalie except Colorado. Luongo, Kiprusoff, Bäckström, now Khabibulin. And Anderson/Budaj/Rycroft will face them. Looks like new Avalanche management is a bit sleepy.
Yeah that sucks. Colorado can forget Gustavsson and then just hope that Anderson will do as good as he was doing with Florida. He can't goal 70 games a season but the 40-50 games he could goal are great performances tough.
I was hoping for Khabibilin and Niittymaki to be the Goaltending tandem in Denver, but that was just too much wishful thinking. I don't have a problem with Anderson in net. This guy did have the third highest save percentage in the league and almost got the Panthers in the Playoffs. I agree with Philou, 40-50 games 60 max, and he'll give the Avs a chance to think about a playoff spot and if Budaj plays the other 20-30 games and wins 12-15 that's a great contribution from the bench. What we really need is Defence now and the signing of Koci just doesn't do it for me. We need another solid defenseman as Hannan and Liles (my buddy ) can't do it all.
According to TSN, Brian Burke was giving serious thought to getting Gustavsson, so look for him to don a Make Me Laugh (I mean Maple Leafs) jersey.

Nice!
That's a bargain as well... Any more news on the Kessel - Kaberle front? There was massive talks of it on draft day but it's been forgotten about since, that mean nothing gonna happen?
Hossa goes from a short one year stint in Detroit then signs a 12year contract with the blackhawks, my jaw actually hit the floor when i heard this!
Still, im glad the rangers have got Gaborik, ive been a big admirer of him for a while, heatley would have scored more goals and def play more games, but the deal has been done now! Heatley to Oilers now, seeing he has pocketed his $4m??
I wonder if Slather has a Centre up is sleave in the next few days, im not sure Dubinsky can step up to 1st line C

anyway, thats my musings for the day!
I thought Heatley nixed the deal to the Oilers? Did that finally go through?
no it hasnt gone through, he did reject them, but now that he has picked up his $4m, Edmonton may be back on the cards. Are any other teams in the market for him?

Would I sign with them? No. I was just more wondering if they are even tryng to land anyone or not.
Adrian Aucoin signed with Coyotes. Kinda surprise, isn't it?
I think Montreal did great (altough it's true that we're way too small upfront).
The team apparently needed to change its group of veteran. Even the team president said it was needed so we can have a more united team and better chemistry.
I think it would be best though to add another D-man under 2M and a fairly good forward with size and second line potential under 4M. But I'm not sure they still have enough space under the cap.
Teemu to retire at the end of the year for sure he says. Hope his last year is in Anaheim... Although he wants to play with Saku Koivu... Retire that #8 Ducks!

I haven't seen Teemu play since his rookie year. I'm gonna have to make a special effort to see a game this next year then.
Do you really think they would retire his number? Has he had that big of an influence on the team?
Hmm... I don't know. For a relatively young franchise he's been the greatest we've seen. Won a cup, leads the team in all time GP, Goals, Assists... Maybe not having his number retired though, if he'd have spent his whole career with us, maybe been captain... I hope so...
yeah if i was a gambling man i'd bet that saku either goes to minnesota (i hope) or anaheim. its a tough choice go and play with teemu and challenge for a cup or play with mikko on a team that probably won't.
