Which team to pick

Post by wildheart »

Ive played the demo before and really enjoyed it.

Ive updated too the latest Lidas rosters 1.3 and thought i would play a game as The redwings and ive noticed that theyre over the cap limit and seem too have a lot of older players on high salaries.

Has anyone got any suggestions on who i should get rid of or alternatively do people think they are a difficult team too start with and have any suggestions on another team who might be easier for a novice player.

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

That's your own challenge man. Do what you wanna do, put the tactics you want, get rid of the player you want, add the player you want and pick the team you want!

Oh and welcome to TBL ;)

Start unemployed and take the first job that becomes available or try running a major junior team first because you can never exceed the cap with them. It gives all the experience of scouting, drafting, tactics although that is tricky and I don't usually end up playing with because the players are far from developed; cap management like I said before though you don't have to ever worry about it.

Red Wings are probably the easiset team to manage. Because the players are so good you practically dont have to do anything.

And the salaries should sink below the cap just before the season starts. Its always high after a season but then sinks and drops before the season begins

Maybe not this time. The roster for Lidas 1.3 for a playoff team like the Wings is going to be over the cap, and things will need to be adjusted before the season begins.

As I rarely play with North American teams. I recomend playing english team such as Shefield Steelers, Coventry Blaze or even Cardiff Devils (even though cardiff is not actually an english team).

Yes, I did notice the typo but I didn't feel the need to attack the original poster's spelling. :dunno:

You could try a Canadian junior team (i.e. OHL, QMJHL or WHL) as they're all fairly equal and it's perhaps more forgiving than some other leagues. Then again, the Wings would be a great introduction - especially if you already have real life knowledge of them

I've searched the forum, but couldn't find a topic that matches, probably 'cause I suck att searching, so I take it here. If you ran out of inspiration or EHM mood, I have a thing that maybe can get it back. Try to play at the original 3.0.4 db and take a "bad" team in NHl and try to build a dynasty. It's pretty funny in fact. Or you could in fact take whatever team you like. I've got som flashbacks when I did that and looked att the Sabres roster with Drury, Briere and Campbell back in the team again.

Thx to Lakrisal who mentioned this for me.
