Signing UK players in English league

Post by Weasel »

Did a search but couldn't find the topic although I am sure this must have been asked before. I am coaching the Sheffield Steelers and I was given the rights to buy a British player from his team and to offer him a contract. However, when I read the news article "offer a contract" I cannot offer the player I just purchased one.

Game example: The Flames gave me permission to approach Danny Wood and offer him a contract after I offered them 10K for his rights, 3 times their asking amount. The next news post is titled "offer Wood a contract" and it states "Flames gave Steelers permission to offer a contract to Danny Woods" but there is no 'offer contract' button at the bottom of the page or on his player page. I have retried several times but no luck.

He is not a foreign player and I am not over my roster limit. Ideas? :-k

Hmm not sure what the problem is, it should have the offer contract button. Is it just one player or all players?

The only thing I can think of is if Danny Wood doesn't want to move to you so won't speak to you. Although I'm sure it would still let you offer him a contract... :-k

Nope, it has happened a number of times with different players. Normally if the guy doesn't want to move I always get the message "Danny Wood refused the move to the Steelers", but I don't get that with this problem.

Also I have noticed, and forgot to mention, that when it says IE "the Flames agree to let you talk contract with" after I buy the player, in the players profile page only the BUY PLAYER option is available almost like I never offered to buy.

Finally last night, after numerous offers to buy with the Flames accepting each offer, the OFFER CONTRACT finally appeared, but it took at least 10 my offers/their acceptance and each time with the same $$.

Strange.
