Now when I think about it, it seems that the keeper mode affected my decisions more than I expected. In the late rounds I took older players, but in the first ten or twelve rounds I tended to choose youth before talent. That may bring some hard times during the winter. But on the other hand, I like my teams to be young, so... let the season begin!

My favourite team didn't come through in my choices, I haven't got a single Devils player in my team  Instead I didn't pick up any players from the most hated teams, Rags, Philly & Pengs. This time I don't even got any players from my semi-hated teams like Avs or Red Wings. Overall the 17 players in my roster come from 14 different teams - only Blues, Canucks and Wild are represented by two players.

Maybe you should have set your auto-pick strategy and not have a surplus of centers. I see that you got an injured guy. HOw does the IR work? Can you add another player while Coburn is injured?

I didn't bother that Brodeur is a friggin she-devil. I picked him anyway. He is a Killer now! :bustacap:
And I took a Ranger with my last pick. A longshot with Anisimov.
I also made sure I've got some good goaltending options this year. That really hurt me last year

Yes. But you have to put Coburn on IR first, if he is eligible. To do this, go to your roster page, and click 'Manage IR' in the row of links under the main navigation tabs.

At the IR management page, any player eligible for IR should have a 'Move to IR' tab next to their name. Click that and he'll be placed on IR. Then submit the changes, and you should now have a roster opening.

I did set my autopicks, because I was not sure I could be there at all. BUt I guess I just ended up with Centers everywhere at the top of the list at my turn. Oh well...no real big deal. I still like the main parts of the team.

Yeah I moved Coburn to IR just to see because it allowed it. Wanted to see how it works.

Wow..I already have a trade offer...but Richards for Kesler. Come on...Two Selke candidates dealt for each other. I thought about it, but am more interested in dealing say...

Pavelski or Weiss, and maybe Rolston for a G or a RW/LW

Also avail:

Kostitsyn, Kennedy, Kovalev....yeah the KKK line. Not a good thing, too many K's on the roster...

Karlstad? you like the K's

And hey guys...lets remember our trade blocks. We can edit them to let people know who we are unwilling and willing to move.

There was actually a setting for autopicking where you could tell it the minimum and maximum number of picks to make at each position. Even though I was there for the whole draft, I still set all of my forward positions to a min of 2 and a max of 3. D was min of 4 and max of 5.

I too already have a trade offer. While Higgins and Ganger for Burns is a good offer -- I can't give up my one surplus Defense... especially when he's going to be getting number 1/2 minutes on a super defensive team... I think Burns may turn out very well for me considering his draft position.

I might have gambled a bit more than I intended, look for me to trade for some safer bets if I don't get off to a good start.

Loui Eriksson (overachieved?, Morrow returns), Havlat(health?) and Goligoski(won't get enough ice?) are all amongst my starters right now. I should have decent coverage on the bench in the form of Enstrom if Goligoski doesn't come through, or until he does, but the others could be unmitigated disasters. I'd feel alot more comfortable if O'Sullivan and Little were listed in the LW/RW positions I expect them to play for most of this season.

Ribeiro is pretty assist heavy but that might be a good thing to balance out Vanek's lack of team play in recent seasons.

Crosby and Perry are probably set to be my keepers for C and RW but beyond that I'll take a wait and see approach.

Right now I think I'd mainly like to pick up a RW for my bench to cover for Havlat, preferably someone with decent PIMs and/or +/- since those appear to be my weak areas.

anyone know how to change the menu bar on espn myteam? It's not the size of picture.
It's shows a trophy case option that's not in our league for this season.

Isn't that for when I win team-of-the-month trophies? :-D

There's no way to fix that.

It's just ESPN's way of showing future web designers how a failure to test their page just once, could result in a <div> being just a few pixels too small for their navigation bar, and thus fudging-up the whole top of their page.

Well, I did the first drop/add -- for some reason I got drunk last night, was reading about Viktor Stahlberg tearing it up in pre-season and dropped Dubinsky in favor of him...

Lesson: Don't drink and Fantasy Team Manage... you might make some questionable additions.

You've only conditionally added him at the moment... Every player is on waivers at the minute... You can cancel the claim if you want...

I don't remember exactly. I think I came across it on my team page while I was digging around before the draft and looking for a mock draft option.

I think I remember it being right under the 'edit pre-draft rankings' link. Something like 'edit autodraft strategy'.

Not that it matters now... but certainly a good thing to look out for for the future.

Heh well compared to last season I've really lucked out with a netminder this year; Tim Thomas. :joy: I've also picked up some good forwards too. The only area I'm disappointed with is my defence. I only have four defencemen, two of whom are Oilers. :-k

What's a bit frustrating is that when I was setting up my draft preferences, I set minimum and maximum numbers for each position. The way I set it up was that the my minimum numbers was that it was set to two less than our maximum roster size, thus leaving two slots for the highest remaining ranked players regardless of position. However, I set my preferences for a minimum of six defencemen - so how come I ended up with just the four??? :-k

Dude TIm Thomas went before Martin Brodeur, and Lundqvist....so not so sure about the luck.

I can trade you another Oiler dman if you want...
