Congratulation for your 1000 pts Niklas, you deserve it...not many defenseman can tell they got 1000 pts in their career.
Especially todays, Ray Bourque's etc. job was quite easier.

P.S. I don't mean that Bourque records are worse but you know, todays teams are equal and todays players score less goals.

Yeah, back in the 80's and 90's it wasn't as hard to amass a 1,000 points in a career. Back then you had some defensemen putting up a point a game.

I didn't know this too. lol :-D

By the way the 400 millions project that i was talking about for Quebec City as been confirm this morning. :-) The only thing i know so far is that the arena will have 18 000 place.

We are still far from a NHL team but this project will certainly help alot.

Nice.
Hopefully we'll see the NHL leave South Florida, Atlanta and Nashville in the near future.

Mike Van Ryn of the Maple Leafs is going to have a knee surgery on Oct 22nd and will probably be out for the season.

I knew what Lidas's handle meant. I just thought he would be smart enough to never admit it.

Because now...he will forever in my mind be known as Lidas the Liddy licker.... :-D

And no team will leave Flo, Nas, Atl under Buttman's watch. They will file bankruptcy and the NHL will run the team until Jerry Reinsdorf decides to buy it...and then not.....

Anyway...Quebec will eventually get a team. But not til after the owners finally fire "the count" Anyone ever watch Sesame Street? A la peanut butter sandwiches...ah ah ah" BUTTMAN.

Totally off topic and totally insane that I know this...B72--Sesame Street will make a huge comeback in your house in the next couple years. cept it is called Sesame Park in the USA becuase you know...don't play in the streets...there be gangs and bad stuff there. So they play in the neighbourhood park. Ick. Plus....no Bob so what the hell good is it without Rubber Duckie???

I can't believe someone didn't know what Lidas means  Now you understand Lidas' avatar :-D

Yeah, Sesame street is cool. Very very popular in my house  Start learning all the characters, B72 ;)

I didn't know about Lidas. And Sesame Street will also be big in this house soon. The little guy is almost 9 months old. Went for his first haircut yesterday.

Back on topic. Van Ryn's surgery could also be career ending, but on the good news side of it, it's apperently the same surgery that Yzerman when through in 2002.

Here's hoping that the Leafs can beat the Rangers tonight.

I'd be surprised it it worked for him. Van Ryn is a good deal bigger than Stevie and the procedure was only good gor a couple of years. Sad to hear as he seemed to be becoming a very solid 2-3 defenseman.

Minnesota traded Craig Weller, 2011 2nd round pick and the rights of Alexander Fallström for Bruins forward Chuck Kobasew.

Who has checked Jarkko Ruutu's playin' in this season? He has been absolutely great and has scored most points of Finnish players (5 points, Jussi Jokinen has also 5 points) :-D Ruutu has played powerplay and killed penalties. Powerplay role is new for him, if i remember right, he has played powerplay last time in Penguins, in same line with Crosby and Malkin and in that match he scored 2+1. :-)

This deal was totally done to clear up Cap space and to make room on the roster for a youngster that the Bruins feel could provide what Kobasew brought to the team. They recalled Sobotka and Marchand yesterday. Both are smaller guys that play a fast and gritty game. I just question the Bruins trading Kobasew when Lucic is expected to be out for about a month with a broken finger. I guess we'll see what these two guys can do. I expect Weller to be waived and sent down to the AHL. I'm figuring the Bruins had to take him back from Minnesota due to roster limitations. Fallstrom could be interesting in the future though. And he's playing at Harvard, so they Bruins will (and maybe already have had) have plenty of opportunity to watch his development. The 2nd round pick is the real return though.

WHat the heck is Minny thinking? Anyway...Boston now will have the leafs top 5 pick, their own top 5 pick (the way they are playing), and Minnesota will give them a 2nd pick in the top 5 of the 2nd round. Nice future

That Minnesota pick is for the 2011 draft. The Bruins are going to be holding a whole bunch of picks for both the 2010 and 2011 drafts. The only picks I wouldn't consider adding to a trade package are those Toronto 1st rounders, at least this year's 1st. Maybe next year's pick but definitely not this year's.

The Sabres trade Daniel Paille to the Bruins for draft pick......i don't know if the Bruins want to fill a hole on the fourth line but i really don't see anything good in this trade, it's useless.

It's a 3rd and conditional 4th depending on goals scored.

He's good on the PK. Bruins PK sucks.

Duchene and O'Reilly will be staying with Avs whole season  I hope their play will keep current level.
I really like current Avalanche youngguns: Duchene, O'Reilly, Wolski, Stastny. There is just lack of young defensmen: only Cumiskey and Quincey play regularly.
Though, it looks like quite interesting season.

Big LOL at the two guys on Versus that thought that Del Zotto could break Brian Leetch's 71 point rookie season.

The guy should be extremely pleased if he even gets past 40 points.

He has potential to make over 70 points, but not yet. Maybe when Del Zotto is 25-29 year old
