The Hurricanes are a disgrace! They cant do anything to get a win. They dont seem to have any drive. Stall needs to score and Cole needs to come back. Whitney is the only one playing like he wants to win and Cam Ward is the only defenseman on the team. I am used to them following a good season with a bad one, so I wont quite sell my loyalty yet.

The Canes had the fewest penalty minutes of all teams last season, and they played very well. Now they are on the top of pims per game and they deserve where they are in the division standings. I hate dirtyness in hockey as much as i hate fights, i'm not paying for goons fighting each other because they cannot do anything else on the ice.
Rutherford made bad decisions to sign those physical guys and buying out Kaberle. He made bad decisions to draft for physical guys in the Entry Draft. This GM lost all my respect in one offseason.

One of the hardest things in NHL is winning the cup twice in row. So i dont think that Pens will do that, even they have very good chances. Red wings was closest last year.philou21 wrote:The Pens completely crush the Habs tonight! They really play like a champion team, the second straight cup it's not so far i think.....

The number of players with H1N1 has been growing over the last few days. Budaj, Smid, and Laing all have it. I read on HFboards that Tyler Kennedy has it but I haven't seen that confirmed by the media (I haven't look to see if it's confirmed either). I also read that Scott Gomez and Glen Metropolit were out with "flu-like symptoms". It's just a matter of time before about every team has somebody who catches it.

Yes he was. Big time. He had all of his success when he was allowed to wear MONSTER sized equipment. When the NHL talked about goalie gear he was the absolute #1 reason they did it. He was totally out of shape, had no conditioning whatsoever and if you made him move...you scored.Kind of like what is happening to him now that he cannot wear the monster sized gear. Never mind the fact he is not really a very good hockey goalie, he is not even an athlete. When Charles Wang talked about getting a Sumo wrestler to play goal for the Islanders, you know who was his example of why it would work. And back in the huge gear days...it would have.philou21 wrote:I don't think Luongo is much more. Did Giguere make something like three straight season with an average of shot of 2000 shots and finish with over .915% ??? Biggest season Giguere as know is 1800 shots. I am not saying Giguere is overated not at all but the people saying that Luongo is overated i don't get it. With the Panthers he prove more than one time that he was a great goalie, i mean look at his stats!getzlaf15 wrote:Giggy was never overated...batdad wrote:I dunno. Ask JS Giguere, AKA the Michelin Man
That bloated contract Burke gave him (or Murray forget which one) was one of the worst deals ever. I mean not on Dipietro Yashin Redden levels but horrible.

Again, any flu like symptoms right now....since the regular seasonal strain is not really around yet...IS H1N1. Just not saying it, so panic is not induced from what is really just a mean flu. People who are dying from it or hospitalized all have underlying conditions (asthma, heart issues etc).
as for the Canes--ERic Staal is playing absolutely disgusting hockey. Did he just get a new deal? I don't think so, but he is playing like he got one of those 20 year ones.

Wow, I didn't ever thought it can happen but: I agree with 9 of 10 posts by batdad. Cool comments
And which one is the 1 of 10? The one with cute nurse and hot doctor. Nurses are usually cute, but doctor aren't hot too often
I hope the Avalanche can keep the form they have. Now it's quite a bunch of games played so noone can talk about "just a lucky season start". I'm surprised that Ryan Smyth leave has possitive effect on Avalanche play. Looks like Duchene and Wolski can really step in and make points.

The Pens lost Malkin for 2-3 weeks! Ouch that's gonna hurt.....
McQwak seriously the Avs are amazing! It's the best season start of the franchise! In the beginning of the year i was like....yeah great prospect but something is missing....darn. They got a better start than the year with Sakic, Foppa, Roy........O'Reily, Duchene making a really good job and finally Wolski seem to have improve is play. I don't know if they gonna keep it until the end of the season and making the playoff with the 7 or 8 position but they are the biggest suprise of the season right now.

Thanks

I check few finnish sites and nhl.com, and TV1's text-tv. I just put them there as quickly as i can (cause i forgot those if i don't put them) when i saw them. That's the one reason. I'm not sure, but time change could be other reason (not sure, but i think that there's more N-Americans that others).
Jatkoaika.com is best hockey site in world, i think. News like Devereaux's and Calder's transfers were there faster than in nhl.com. Only bad thing is (not for me
) that the site is finnish.

It's happen pretty often that NHL.com as their news more slowly than other web site. All the news that i post i see them generally on TSN or RDS. If i saw them on NHL it's like 4-5 hours later.
The Sens lost Volchenkov for ''a couple of weeks'' with an elbow injury. Without him the Sens gonna have less block shots per game for sure.
Ilya Bryzgalov got is third shutout of the season and the Yotes win 2-0 agaisnt the Blues. With the Avalanche i think it's the second most surprise team of the season this far.

NHL.com is the last place for news. Stuff like Calder was on the radio here two days ago. Best place I find is that site mentioned in another thread here.
revised predictions:
East Conference Final: Buffalo-Pittsburgh
West Conference Final: Either LA or Phoenix vs Colorado
should be an epic LA-Phoenix WC Semi final series!!!

I was about to laugh when i saw the Sabres but darn it i'm looking at the standing in the east and i didn't know the Sabres were THAT good so far. 7-1-1! I never follow them because their always in the middle, even if they got a weak team they always doing well like 7-8 or 9 place but i'm really surprise.batdad wrote: revised predictions: East Conference Final: Buffalo-Pittsburgh
