Hamill made a very good showing in training camp and the preseason. He's really starting to come along. I wouldn't be too surprised to see him join the big club next season. Then again, if they find a way to re-sign Savard, while keeping Bergeron and Krejci (I don't know how they could pull it off though), I'd be surprised to see him in Boston full time.alexob18 wrote:Haha well you've been missing out on some key players. It's nice to see Bergeron stepping up. Hamill will most likely be on the team full time next year.
Bergeron is getting much closer to being the player that he was before his injury. I have to wonder if he'll ever be quite as good as he could have been had it not happened though.

I do remember him being quite the player back a few years ago, and he was progressing well. Then he got nailed from behind and he was a shell of his former self. It's nice to see him stepping up again.
The B's have some pretty solid centers. If Savard does go (which would actually be sad, as he IS their offence), they have the players to fill the gaps. Nobody can fill his shoes, however. It'll be good to see Hamill and Marchand come up through the pipes. I always liked how Marchand played, and I always watched Hamill when he played for Everett. I liked how he played.

Marchand has already been called up and has been playing with the club due to all of the injuries. He's been playing on the wing, mostly on a line with Bergeron. He's still got some developing to do but he's looking pretty good. His style of play goes over well in Boston. Even though he's not the biggest guy, he's got grit.
If Savard is gone after this season, the Bruins have Sobotka and Hamill for centers that are ready now. Bergeron and Krejci become your #1 and #2. Colborne is looking like a good prospect but I don't see him joining Boston yet. He'll play next season either in Denver (his college team) or Providence. I don't think they've got to rush him. I think they really see Marchand as a wing. Same thing as Caron. They're projecting him more as a RW.

Hopefully they release him and then he makes contract with Jypselne wrote:Nylander was on waivers last week and no team claimed him? What happened to this guy? He used to be a good player not long ago.

Carolina signed Manny Legace. Crazy. I guess they hope that a veteran will give them a better shot at getting another point, or maybe even two! ha.
Im upset that Cam Ward is out for at least 3-4 weeks and Staal is possibly sitting out for another week or two. I havent heard an update on Whitney but last I heard he was out for a week or two the same time Staal left.

Don't the Canes usually start slow?alexob18 wrote:I'm depressed. I like the Canes a lot. I would have just called up Peters. Even if they do tank, Hall would be a nice edition, or MacFarland, Fowler... I'd like Fowler.
Once they get Ward back they should be able to get into playoff contention mode and have their usual late season hot streak.

Anyone who could take Gigueres contract?
I don't think someone would take him with that kind of declaration. Seems the Leafs are interested but they would put him as a veteran backup for Gustavsson. So we can forget that, i don't think any team is interested in him.
