Wow - just having a chance to read through this now. I'm in support of all the proposed changes.

But I think the players in question have already established enough of a lead to ensure they will win the league this year - or at least be in the top three. To me, a player who didn't realize the rules could be bent in this way, I fee like I have no shot as the playing field is no longer level.

I mean come on - batdad and Lidas have 66 and 68 moves. The next closest player has 17. I have 5. I understand that this wasn't caught until now, but really, what good does it do to implement restrictions now? Both teams are 5-0 - which is a significant, if not insurmountable lead on the rest of the pack.

And in playoffs..we still have to have good weeks. Or we are done.

And I hate to say it..but we played by the rules. No violations. All others were free to do the same. And some started doing it towards the end. Alot more add drops every day other than just Lidas and mine.

I mean like I said...it is not really an issue. And going forward with the rules set properly...I am at a disadvantage. Yet I am still winning.

CatchUp-You cannot blame losing to me on this...because back then I had not even tried it. Nor thought of it. My crazy transactions all in the past 2 games. I was 3-0 when I tried it. The first few weeks I made more than 4 sure...but never changed positions. And you know what...others could have too.
Other than day 1 this week Corinthians has had more players in the lineup than me every day (matchup totals I have 23 man games he has 22) and I am still winning right now. Do I Think I will? No..

All of my matches regardless of changes have been tight matches...yes I won some games by big scores but the categories were close.

as for Lidas in addition to making a few great changes and a few crazy ones..the dude drafted incredibly well for the start of the season. When I looked at all the rosters...his was the one I feared by far the most. Still is.

In fact...with the rules changing on Lidas and I one could say it is unfair considering we were not given a chance to get our rosters back to place for this week. But I am willing to live with that.

if you want to whine about it fine. But you could have done it too. And in the end you still have just as much of a chance as Lidas or I of winning this thing. Since playoffs are single week games. Who knows maybe that week the Flyers only play one game and my Hartnell/Richards studliness kills me.

I'm with you on the whole "everyone else could have done the same" argument. I just never would have thought to do it. I assumed that the league rules were 'standard' - ie. required number of players at each position and limited transactions. I guess I shouldn't have assumed.

But, what's done is done, and you're right - going forward we are all on the same level playing field. If anything, you and Lidas will be struggling to get your lineups back to 'normal', so I suppose that is somewhat of a handicap.

So, the loophole is closed and no one is wigging out. Props to you, Stinson, on the mature way you handled this. =D>

Thanks, CatchUp.

Although, I have to disagree with batdad and Lidas being too far ahead. True they are at an impressive 5-0, but we have 23 total weeks in the season before the playoffs. We're playing week 6 now, so there's still quite a lot of the season left to play, and it'll all be with proper rules. So, I think there's still plenty of time to catch them, even for those of us who are at the bottom of the standings.

By the way, I heard back from ESPN regarding the goalie max. being reset. They're really not much help at all. They simply informed me that it appears to them that I changed the limit at 7:38 on November 2nd (that's when I added the acquisition limit). Yeah, thanks for that genius bit of info. Unfortunately, the problem is that your faulty HTML is what reset it, not us.

Bald Uakaris haven't been feeling so good lately. During last two weeks practically all of team's first line has been out, injured or at least day-to-day. And few other guys were out too. The situation has started to improve now, but after last week's terrible numbers there is more than a lot to do before one can call their results decent.

Well, at least we got more than enough dmen in our roster, it would be too much asked if we would be forced to fight for them with all those vicious murderers.

I'm going on a trip. I'll be back Monday. Just so you know in case I don't reply to your trade proposals(not that I'm getting that many. This season is more boring that way, too many qualified FAs)

See you!

What made you change your mind about Michalek for Lidstrom Batdad?

Michalek sucks. Just waiting til I got one more game out of him... :-D I always planned on making the deal, just waiting for the right time and while I waited....tried to get you to take lesser offers. Just good Brian Burke style management.

I haven't heard anything back from ESPN regarding our goalie setting changing, and my guess is that I won't hear anything.

So just a reminder: The 3-goalie max. will always be in effect for our league. Any acquisition exceeding this limit will be removed as soon as possible without warning. You may have four if one is on IR.

darn I'm in another tight matchup this week. Will I be able to end Lidas' winning streak tonight? We're at 4-5-3 and tied for G, A and PPG. I hope I'll have time to watch the EDM-ATL game tonight since all three of my players will be playing in that one (Kane, Kubina, O'Sullivan).

Exciting for sure! I just used my two last acquisitions and brought in Antropov and Whitney. I need to have at least a few players on the ice when it's this close.

Man my game is tight too. But I think it will be hard for sun bears to catch me. Must change 2 categories today to do so as I have goal tiebreaker. He could get plus minus but another one is against the odds.

This AI cheats so badly.

Friday night I had an extremely rare lead, with PIM being the key category between us. Then just one day later Cearphilly has more than doubled me in PIM.

No meltdown. No Versteeg for Hawks guarantees I go to 7-0. Nice battle as I may win in the Goals tiebreaker. Well done Sun Bears.

Yeah, that was definitely supposed to be a joke. He really did go from being down about four PIM, to being double my PIM in just one day... and I could easily see that getting an "AI cheats/unrealistic" complaint if this were a video game... but it's real. ;)

Doesn't help that Hiller and Mason were both completely ridiculous this week, allowing a combined 300 goals against.

Thankfully, I think you're right about not needing relegation... or else it looks like I'm a goner for next year. :(

Mine and B72's matchup comes down to the final period in Chicago tonight. If Huet gets the win, I win 5-4-3. If Nabokov gets the win, we're tied at 4-4-4. What happens if goals are tied? Assists?

Close call, but my last minute addition of Ray Whitney paid off. 1G 2A from the veteran, and Vikings are now 7-0.
