I'm taking 1-2 weeks off from updating, so I'm not going to reply to each message here, but keep it coming!

- but I'm not going to rest... I'm gonna work on my upcoming faceback, and have some fun in the upcoming challenge - I'm probably the only user who havent played a game with neither 2.0 nor 2.1 ...

Do you ever stop working, Lidas? =D>

You should take some time and play the game too. Maybe you can enjoy your database for a bit? The new challenge starts tomorrow. :-k

-Mike Betz was moved to the BCHL's Trail Smoke Eaters from the Spokane Cheifs
-Mac Carruth was signed by the Portland Winterhawks from the NAHL's Wenatchee. *Carruth has committed to the U of Minnesota-Duluth, but Portland owns his WHL rights.

There is no need to post the North American transfers here. I've got them all covered. Thanks anyways!

Ha he'd probably find little things that he'd like changed if he played it and then go back and fix them... So in some essence it wouldn't really be helping him :-p Just creating more work for him.

Not sure if this has anything to do with the database, but I haven't seen this before.

In the 2009 draft: 5 out of top 6 prospects are swedish (and they are freaking amazing.. best draft I've ever seen in EHM - scouted as "More talented version of Chris Pronger, Alex Semin, Jeff Carter" etc), 1 is french and especially TOP 34 are all european! The first north american skater is ranked as #34. Seems a bit odd...

Whoa that's weird...
I've seen the opposite of that before.
North America had the top 40 or so, then the Euros.
But that's just weird.

Yeah that's just weird. Hmmm. I don't think it has anything to do with the DB itself, just a flukey year. When I come to that year, I'll check the draft rankings... it's probably just a bunch of regens, as the North Americans take 4 years to get to their draft, and the Euros only take 2.

Not sure if that's a mistake or not, anyway, why does Zach Hamill have to go through re-entry waivers before you can call him up ? He's 21, has only played junior so far, no pro experience

That is odd regarding Hamill. :-k

As for the 2009 draft, there must be a bunch of Euros that retire around the same time and they all regened at the same time. I can't say I've ever seen a draft with not one North American in the first round though. Interesting! :nerd:

Let's see in the db retiring day 2:

Naslund, Sundin, Forsberg...just to name 3. Plus whoever was still listed as a player in the old db who retired in the original game. I cannot think of them right now....sheesh...oh what the heck...Borje Salming, Inge Hammarstrom, Ulf Samuelsson, Per-Olav Brasar. But I also see alot of Ruskies in there. In fact more than Swedes....Igor Larionov, Alex Mogilny, Pavel Bure, the Mironov brothers...all come to mind there and I am sure there are others.

If they retire in Sep 2006, they would regen as 16 year olds in Jan 2007 and be draft eligible in either 2008-2009-2010 depending on birthdates.

Hey Lidas, great update so far.

I was watching the Leafs game today, and one player that really stood out to me was Niklas Hagman. He was everywhere on the ice. I remember specifically one play when he sprinted down the ice after Wallin cleared the puck on the PK and he beat Picard to the puck and chipped it onto Leclaire. So if you could take that into account and give him a +1 in Acceleration possibly. (it is currently 14)

As well, I think that his wristshot might be able to get a +1.

Keep in mind, these are just suggestions, I love the update Lidas.

Did a search and haven't found anything on this...

Using the 2.0 rosters: Tavares isn't considered a rookie by the game. Plus, I got a news message saying that he had hit a milestone of 100 points, which is his total for this year's playing so far (23 points) plus the year in Oshawa listed in his history (77 points). I assume something is causing the game to think that the Oshawa year was in the NHL?

Maybe the clone trick will fix these?

Petri Vehanen --> Ak Bars with 1,250 million euros per year for 2 years and
Mikael Tellqvist --> Rauman Lukko, but not sure how to do this cos Kazan pays his salaries. Oh well.

The player budget of Dynamo Riga and Barys Astana are very small in contrast to the other teams.

Can we change this?

I think we must to give all players higher salaries, because we can't change the budget in the editor.

Normally, the player budget should be increased if they would give players higher salaries.

Both of these are because the players have games played in the player info page. Under League stats. Lidas must have missed deleting these when the players turned pro. It has to be done whenever someone signs a NHL-contract or else this kind of things happen

My "break" didnt last more than a few days - I'm back!

Everything up to here has been changed (or taken into consideration)
- And I managed to play my first 3 games with ANY of the new databases (including v2.0). Not much time for playing when I'm updating, but now that the challenge has started, I'll play some more.

Keep the suggestions rolling!

Fantastic job with the database Lidas!! Too bad SI isn't still supporting this game, you might have a job waiting for you.

I noticed the same things as others here have already mentioned, including some high profile/expensive players being moved for draft picks because of the salary cap.

I just have a couple of things for you to look at. For the Red Wings, Datsyuk and Zetterberg should probably be rated higher, they have been very consistent point producers the past several years and they are both fantastic defensively.

The other thing is regarding Zack Torquato. His rights no longer belong to the Wings, they let him go last year because of his lack of development.

Once again, great job, your work is really appreciated!

I think Matt Moulson on the Islanders could use re-evaluating a little.

Right now he is 2nd on team in points and leads in goals and is a plus 7. Yet in the game he barely makes the team or even gets sent down. Maybe a raise of some key attributes by 1 or 2. or whatever Lidas thinks works better.

And thank you Lidas for the awesome Update!
