How do I fix this?

What is wrong? I am trying to update the game on a friends pc...the same thing happend to me on my machine I jsut dont remember how i fixed it :s

Are you trying to use a 3.0.4 database (Lidas database?) on version 3.0.2?

Update EHM to 3.0.4.

Judging by the error, you're currently on 3.0.2 (highly not recommended even if you're not getting errors like this). You can't use a new database with an old version of the game.

i tryed both of the updates in the 2009-10 updates...they both do the same thing. Can you send me a link to the one you think will work

If I may hijack this concluded thread with my own problem: Since I last successfully played EHM 2007, I now get the pop-up "EHM has stopped working, Windows checking for a solution yadda yadda" almost immediately after trying to open the game.

I tried from my start menu, program folder, and desktop (Including run as administrator) to no avail. I have changed nothing in the months that I have been running my current game, and have been running my save file for so long that I'm not even using the Lidas DB yet.

The only thing that had changed since the last time I had used the game successfully, would be that my antivirus and windows security were no longer able to update. Though I doubt that it's related, the updating is a problem that I have since fixed but still have no luck with my EHM :dunno:

Sorry for not being related to the previous problem in the thread, I just felt it'd be easier than starting a new one that may have already existed once upon a time.

That kind of problem happens to me when i play GTA4 or Liere Xtreme and DC++ or uTorrent is open. It doesn't happen when those downloading programs are closed. But it hasn't happened in EHM (to me) :-k

Interesting, though unfortunately for me my problem doesn't seem to care what programs I have running :cry:

As a quick update, gave in and re-installed EHM. Unfortunately, this did nothing to fix the problem. I almost hope not to fix the issue, as it would mean I deleted my saved game for nothing ](*,)

The Hutch,

After you re-installed, did you load your old save, or start a new one?

If you were still on your old one, then I'm guessing you might have a corrupt save.

If it was a new game, did you create the game with the default EHM installation, or did you install/re-install any third-party addons, particulary an edited database?

If you installed/re-installed any addons, especially a database, then they might be the cause. Try starting a game from complete default.

If it was with a clean installation of EHM, then it sounds like it might be something with your computer. Especially since you say your antivirus and Windows security recently stopped working properly.

Thanks for pitching in. I actually can't load the game at all, as I get the "blah blah blah has stopped working, Windows is searching for the problem" right after I try to open the program.

I am pretty certain that the problem is indeed with my computer, as I had to turn off User Account Control to get my updates working properly.

I will pay $1,000 proverbial dollars to anyone that can help me figure out what's wrong. I've uninstalled and re-installed so many times my head is spinning. Tried it out on my external hard drive as well. Fail :bs:

If you're having such serious problems with your OS, you might want to consider backing up all of your data and nuking (full format and reinstall) your computer. It sounds like your problems are beyond EHM.

I think you're right, but aside from system update issues that I rectified, I have yet to run into any other problems. EHM is the only game of mine that won't run.

Thanks a bunch, ran HP Recovery and it solved the problem =D>

On the downside, according to the game I have used up all of my licenses. Never heard of that one before.

You needed to unlicense the game before you did that. eLicense allows you to have the game running on 2 computers. If you don't tell it that you're taking it off a computer (by unlicensing it), it thinks you're still using that license.

There is an eLicense thread here. Check it for details. It talks about contacting eLicense to have them free up a license.

I already found the thread through search last night, and submitted a form to eLicense :thup:

Had no idea about unlicensing, and had lost it the first time around when my old computer keeled over.

ACK!

eLicense were awesome, got me a new license within 24 hours. The only trouble is that now I am right back where I started from, with the game "Stopped working" as soon as I try to load it. I never tried running it in demo mode, so I couldn't say if it had the same problem in that regards.

Me thinks that fate decided for me not to play the game anymore :rant:
