USA deserved that win last night. There were a couple of bad calls on the Canadians, but that's life. Worst part about the game: KADRI. Good luck with this kid Laafs fans...he was AWFUL. Turnovers galore (including, I think, the game winner) and he took about 58 horrible shots from ridiculous angles.
Anyway, congrats USA, you are our little hockey brother and you get a pat on the head. Nice work.

Do you think the Laffs regret not trading Kaberle and that 1st round pick they used on Kadri to the Bruins for Kessel instead of the deal they made?CatchUp wrote:USA deserved that win last night. Kadri is a selfish Piece of dung. Sooooo many times to move the puck, and just dangle dangle oops. Argh. If he makes a play...Canada wins that game. Hate him. Hate him.
as for the game...defensively that was perhaps the worst junior gold medal game I have ever seen. Both teams were terrible without the puck.
However...the mistakes and stupidity were what made this game one heck of a game to watch. I really do not mind watching coaches pull their hair out becuase the boys are trying to do too much. Cept for Kadri..wanted Willy to bench that lil dork.

My Kadri love is not much more than the rest of you it seems. I think he tries to do too much with the puck instead of shooting or offloading and he seems to dive an awful lot and draws penalties for it.
I also don't like Taylor Hall as much as everyone else. More often than not, when he had the puck he was knocked down too easily.
I never realised that OT was 4 on 4. When i saw that, I knew Canada was destined to lose. The USA had so many breakouts in the game that resulted in one of the Canadian defensman being caught up ice. It was only a matter of time before it happened in OT.
Another great game though, as a neutral, I wanted a shootout in the end but it just wasn't to be. Eberle is going to be so good.

Meh...HAll is just young. He will grow up to be big and strong. Not thinking about where he is right now...thinking about later. Ever seen a photo of Mark Messier at 18? Skinny little tough guy.
USA was bloody fast. Shootouts suck. Eberle is clutch. Go to heck and back Getz.
Ah...INternational bug Getzlaf day...what would we do without it?

I hope Hall does fill out because he has some serious skills. Although he is another dangle dangle dangle too much player in my eyes. I was always a throw the puck on net kinda guy. I can just see him getting thrown around in the NHL like a rag doll.

Alot of people said that about Orr, Gretzky, Lemieux, Crosby, Stamkos, Daniel and Henrik Sedin.....not to compare Hall to any of those other than on this point. Don't think it has happened save maybe when they were 18. They all came in skinny and bony....and grew into adults and stars.I can just see him getting thrown around in the NHL like a rag doll.
(Don't dare say anything bad about Henrik and Daniel--Go look at leading points per game in the NHL this season) Not flashy by any means, but those two have turned into absolute studs.
My point is...based on Taylor's family and his comparison that is most often used...he will MOST DEFINITELY fill out. He is actually one tough cookie....Mark was too,.

Great game.
As much as I hate to say it, Kadri does try to do too much with the puck.
In training camp he looked really good. Scored a nice goal in London during preseason.
Then I just kept track of him on the OHL site, he struggled at first, then found his groove.
When I watched the world juniors. He definitely did try to do too much, and turnovers crushed him. And as soon as the Canada rush happened and he gave Pietrangelo a drop pass, I freaked, because if anyone was watching TSN, In the locker room goinf into the third period, the coaches went over Defensive and offensive coverages, and NO DROP PASSES. Kadri that idiot doesnt listen. Although I might get bashed for saying this, I think the leafs should have drafted Magnus Pääjärvi-Svensson.
Oh well. D'Amgio played well in the torunament (Another leafs prospect.)
As for Taylor Hall. I believe he has the ability to be a superstar. Although in the game last night, it looked like he was trying to do too much. I think that just comes from inexperience. As of right now, I think if he was drafted today, he should be sent back to his junior team. His skating speed is TREMENDOUS. I am just not sure if he is ready for the nhl right now. However, I was honestly excited every time he touched the puck, so maybe that is telling me something.
And my hat goes off to Jack Campbell. What a goalie. He looked amazing in the game last night. Congratulations to the USA in winning gold.

it was a heck of a tourney. I lost alittle respect for Kadri seeing him take a couple dives (can't remember what game it was in)- It worked though and the refs gave the other team a penalty so i guess i can't blame him for doing it. That is something that has and will take over the NHL with the "new rules"...players "selling it" - but that's another topic altogether.
Just curious, (and not trying to start an argument or prove any points with this question like don cherry) but how many US players eligble for this tourney couldn't play because of injury or nhl duty?
EDIT: Alessandro, add no heart to that list! I guess that could fall under reason 2. That was a great read by the way.

Thanks. Well, no hearth is no spirit, that's what I meant.dave1927p wrote:it was a heck of a tourney.
