Nope. There would be no way of sort out which belongs to who. The local ice crew sweeps them all up. I'm hoping they donate the hats to the homeless or something.getzlaf15 wrote:This may be a stupid question, but... If you throw your hat onto the ice after someone scores a hat trick. I thought the guys could pick it up after the game, but then again, some jerk could take someone else's hat so yeah, quite impossible.bruins72 wrote:Nope. The idea was, that LaFontaine can't win the Cup. But yeah, Hawks will do it this year. I'm pretty confident about it.batdad wrote:axwel3221 wrote:I'll do one and start it off with a sentence. The Hawks have already had enough brain dead people running their organization in the past. No way they hire Captain Concussion to do anything except hand out helmets to the disabled as they enter the rink. So becuase they don't hire La lal la la fontaine....they do win the cup. way before the loafs or ducks get it again.
Oh and Schremp can only score sick goals. Tell me when he scores on a play where he just stands in front of the net takes a few hits and bangs home a garbage rebound goal. that I would be interested in. He is such a pretty boy,

The Sharks will go down in the first round as always. I really don't believe in them, the Hawks were too young for last year, this year i think they can make it.
Here's some injuries report : Savard will be out 2 to 4 weeks with a sprain ankle.
A. Kostitsyn will be out 6 weeks, he got a surgery to the left knee.

Anyone heard the Burrows story from last night yet? Apparently, the league is going to do a REAL investigation into what Burrows said about Auger...the media here is nuts about it.
TSN Story
Normally I would say shaddup to the player and quit whining. Not sure this is the case here. This ref is also the one who accused Doan of the anti-French comment.

That's crazy! I'm sure many refs might "get back" at a player by making a call against him but to tell the player before the game that you're going to screw him? That's just insane. This sounds like another ref with an ego that thinks it's up to him to decide a game. It's not as bad as the ref situation in the NBA but it sure isn't good either.

The diving call was fine by me...still trying to find the interference one. What is interesting is in the previous game...Phaneuf runs over Luongo in OT and the ref says to Vigneault "I have to let that one go, do not want to influence the outcome of the game" and then Burr gets one the next game for like nothing....
Anyway..Canucks did not really deserve to win. They played okay, but not well. But Auger may be in big doo doo. There are random comments out there from unidentified GM's, and players who are suggesting that Auger is a dufus. Wonder if Doan was the first guy the media called?

I'm torn on that one. On the one hand it's inexcusable for a ref to announce to "get back" at a player (if he really said that), officiating has been poor this season and I'm kinda tired of the over-protection refs get. On the other hand Burrows is a diver and whiner and admittedly there's this "he got what he deserved" kinda feeling. He's consistently trying to make refs look bad with his antics and he's treading on the spirit of the game by blatantly trying to cheat regularly, why doesn't he question his own behaviour before whining about refs getting back at him publicly ? Diving and injury faking is a worse offence to the integrity of the game than headshots. That applies to every player really, Recchi deserves a 5 game ban for his pathetic dive against Toews. I don't have anything against Burrows and would probably like him on my team, but those who live by the sword die by the sword.

I agree on Burrows past. That has not been so prevelant the last year and a bit since he moved up with the Sedin's and became a part of the core. He is not so much the little disturber he used to be. But yeah, he still does it some times.
However...Burr has never ever been one of those guys that chirps with the media about it. He has NEVER complained or made any excuses for anything. If he had...he would still be playing in the ECHL. This is why...I actually believe him. Well..that plus the Shane Doan incident. I mean..Doan does not even swear on the ice, nevermind in life...so Auger is an idjit.
But yeah...if Auger said anything that was his mistake. Stupid move on his part. He should be suspended...Burr should and likely will be fined.

And that is what will kill Auger. That NBA referee never bet on his own games...he only used info from other referees to make a killing. The issue here, is that this is striking at the integrity of all NHL officials. Making it known you do not like someone could cause real big issues....Donaghy like. So the NHL has to be real careful in what they do here.

Auger should have just done his thing and left it at that. But airing his personal intentions will demand action.
Things are going to get very interesting, I think. Burrows will no doubt have his supporters, but I am certain that the officials will stand behind Auger. Burrows may have just made himself a target of the entire cadre of referees.
A thought: Does anyone think that he should have gone to the coach, or at least his captain, about what was told to him pre-warmup? It seems to be that had he chosen to say something, this could have been nipped in the bud. Or perhaps he underestimated just how far it would go, if indeed this is how it all went down.
That being said, I hope any over the line officiating is dealt with, I hope Burrows is dealt with because, unfortunately, you can't go out and lay it down about the officiating. And on top of it all, I do contest that one official can NOT determine the outcome of a game unless he's physically stopping the puck from going into the net.

There's neither been confirmation or denial as to what will happen to Auger, so anything of that nature is purely speculative at this juncture.philou21 wrote:From what i've heard it seems that Auger will not be punish or suspended. Burrows got fined, we'll see what happens about Auger, and then I hope this whole thing gets swept under the rug. We never would have even heard about this if the Canucks had won, which is what I think could hurt Alex's case.

I stand corrected, as per Darren Dredger over at TSN.ca
As far as the NHL is concerned, it's case closed.
Stephane Auger won't be fined or suspended by the National Hockey League for allegedly threatening Vancouver Canucks forward Alex Burrows.
The evidence isn't there.
At worst, Terry Gregson, the NHL's director of officiating, will remind Auger that approaching a player before the game - as Auger clearly did on Monday night prior to the Canucks' match-up with the Nashville Predators - is never a good idea.
Canucks fans may be outraged by this information, combined with the fact the only form of discipline to emerge from this potentially scandalous game is a $2500 fine that Burrows received for publicly questioning the integrity of an NHL official.
Burrows was fined the maximum amount allowed under the rules of the collective bargaining agreement.
Understandably, the NHL has great respect for its on-ice officials and considers Auger one of its best, so without concrete proof that any threat was made, the league has no reason to pursue the matter any further.

Sorry about this but when i wrote something, it's because it is true. I've got some french-canadian website who are sometimes quicker than TSN to got some informations, not much of the times though. The Hutch wrote:There's neither been confirmation or denial as to what will happen to Auger, so anything of that nature is purely speculative at this juncture.philou21 wrote:From what i've heard it seems that Auger will not be punish or suspended. Am I the only one who is surprise that the Isles blank the Wings?? I wasn't expecting that but in fact i'm really happy about it.
