Omark in 2.X is like Radulov, almost impossible to get to NA teams. SO you can sign deals one year ahead? I thought it was against the rules to have signings pending over deadlines?

Nope. You can agree to a contract with a European free agent in the off-season and then he doesn't transfer over until the next off-season. That's the way that transfer window works. It would be impossible to sign any Euro-prospects if we didn't allow this.

That helped a lot! Sorry if I went somewhat OT, but I thought I had to wait until may or something to try to sign them.

Good news, it looks like Omark want to sign with me! :joy:

How on Earth is Omark looking to sign with you?

I wonder about that too! Usually he wont sign, but this time he only want a little over the max salary I can give him. I don't know for sure if he'll sign without using the sing bonus to increase the cap hit, but exploiting the "bonus bug" feels too cheap and dirty.
I'll post screenshots.

I saw that you maxed the bonus when trying to sign Omark, so I guess it's ok to do so. I haven't got any news yet from Omark, lets hope!

As he is one of your own prospects you can sign him at whatever salary you wish. If it wasnt for the fact the he is not wanting to leave Russia, darn it!

Is it only for me he gives a counter-offer?

I meant the price-tag on the top of the "approach to sign" screen. He wanted about 16000000 Swedish kronor over two-years I think. I had the Swedish currency at the moment and I don't want to withdraw just to check. I'll post the news when it comes.

Looking forward to starting my first challenge, longtime fan of EHM and I'll look to change to a more defensive tactic with this franchise. Going to be a tough start with Bulin gone, but EDM has some nice prospects that I'll try not to ruin :-p

Lastly, thank you to Lidas and everyone involved in the development of these rosters and this challenge.

I will use my standard Oilers (offence-minded) tactics.

I think I tried a too offensive tactic in the first game, Calgary completely run me over with 1-11. ](*,)
But now I've changed to a more defensive tactic and we have been playing better, just a little unlucky losing with one or two goals.

Previously, I would always have a very offensive tactics that I would use for any franchise. But now I'm going to try and mold it more to the team for a realistic feel.

Too bad MPS and Lander don't have CHL rights. I love to bring my prospects over and develop them in juniors.

My first exhibition I played only healthy players who I'm not sure if I keep up and players on try-out (as usual). Heres the result: http://yfrog.com/05screenshot041g :-)

Some real awful jersey numbers on this team. The defense in particular.

0 - 4 against the Avs was really bad, but my referee complaint after the game was successful and that speaks about the game...

Hehe, tempting indeed!

I just finished analyzing my team (at work). Will start playing my regular season games once I get home.

By just looking at the players, it doesn't look THAT bad, pretty good firepower on the first two lines, including the defensemen. Good depth on the wingers, could use another center. Goalie situation is (of course) horrible. Hell, even Bjurling looks better than the options available.

The main problem with the skaters is inconsistency. My team started good but decided to stop scoring and defending for a couple of games and went into a downward spiral into hockey hell. Just Bryzgalovs me off

Playing my game at the moment feels exactly like watching the real Oilers (who lost 6 - 1 to Phoenix). :help:
