I know we just got the Knowledge Base (which is very nice if you haven't checked it out) but what if TBL had a wiki...
If your not familiar with the idea of a wiki look here.
What do you think?

I was tempted to use Wiki when I was making the site for the EHM Guide but chose against it because our current system (a CMS called Mambo) could do what I wanted it to do more than adequately. It's a very clever system but I didn't get the impression I could really make it fit the theme of TBL. It seemed like you had to keep the layout practically the same as any other Wiki site. I like to be able to customise features to make it unique to TBL.
As for using a Wiki system for our articles. I don't think we have enough articles to warrant a Wiki system. I think our current KB system is the best way of organising our small collection of articles. Plus, it is fully integrated with the Forums so that you don't need another user account to edit or publish articles.
As with the whole of phpBB (our Forum system), the KB is fully customisable. We can do whatever we like with it. I'm no php programmer so I can't add many extra features, but I can make it look any way we want it to look. This allows us to make it look like the rest of TBL. Additionally, having everything based on one system makes the system flow and is fully integrated. Having lots of systems would make the site look and feel inconsistent and it would seem very partitioned or split up.
Thanks very much for the suggestion. I'm a very big fan of making this the people's site but I think the current Knowledge Base is the best system for us. If you have suggestions or constructive criticism about the Knowledge Base or any part of the site then please tell us
