Congratulations to Slovakia.
I think Sweden played somewhat better but it all comes down to which team scores and the Slovak players were EXTREMELY effective.

You got a lot of guys who is fighting for their last chance to get a gold medal and I wish you good luck!

I had Finland as the favorite for the gold, but I'm not so sure anymore. Finland just seem to have lost a step the last games. :dunno:

Out of Sisu? I got some here if you need it. ;)

That was a close match and a lucky goal for Finland. That stupid rule about helmet... I didn't know that players have to look beautifully during the game.
Now, GO USA GO :usa:

I don't think there is anything wrong with the rule, it's the players that got their chinstrap hanging down to the knees. Just look what happened to Bartecko. He could have risked a severe injury and taken the penalty for playing without having the helmet on, but he just wasn't that stupid/bold.

sweden-slovakia

sweden played bad. used top many players and looked tired and where not using their skats as much as they should done. slovakian players where tired and many old ones in that team..

Only good players was Bäckström and Eriksoon.

Demitras shot was amazing.

congratz usa and canada to final...

Hmh, had two alarm clocks to wake me up at 5am, and yet i wake up in my bed at 9am. How can i miss the FIN-CZE game! =(

Well, atleast it was not the last game for Finland in this tournament. But surprisingly, Sweden did have their last game of the tournament. One could only argue, did the Swedes lose in purpouse? ;>

Seriously though, congratz to Slovakia, was rather surprising result.

SLOVAKIAAA !!!

:groupwave: :ohyeah:

I am in a total euphory all day, I surely didn't expect my boys to make it. I'm gonna watch the SVK-CAN match with my classmates, can't wait. No matter what the final result is, they exceeded my expectations by miles. Good job boys, good job. =D> Now if we can beat those Canadians...talk about real upset!

I don't think Kukkonen needs replacement. Why everybody criticises him, he has played ok. He should play with Lydman.

Congrats to Slovakia, nice to see you playing well. Hope you get silver medals, cause we take gold ;) . Nice to see that Sweden and Russia are out  .

I have to refure my words i say yesterday, that Latvia makes the last surprise in these hockey tournament. Slovakia made positive way, Russia and Sweden negative way.

If i've heard right, swedish magazines has said that we lost to Sweden purposely. Today finnish site had headline: Did Sweden lost on purposely?

If yes, you made in wrong place. :-D

There's poll in Iltalehti site:
Did Sweden lose purposely? There's currently 26k votes and 90% is thinking that Sweden lost purposely.. what else you can except from finnish hockey fans. :-p

Gratz Slovakia! I have always liked Slovakia and hopefully they make their way to finals with Finland.

It could be nice. Both have only one win in big tournaments, world championships (Finland 1995, Slovakia 2002).
