Yup sounds like Raycroft is on his way out for sure. It's a shame because I still feel he has great potential. However, after his performance so far this season, he can't expect to stay.

Marty Turco is another G who's having a tough time at the moment; he's allowed eight goals in the last 21 shots he's faced. He had a nightmare yesterday, conceeding four goals on six shots in the first 12 mins of the Tampa game. :-o

Now Raycroft's been moved down to the minors. Yesterday he conceeded three against the Springfield Falcons but the Bruins (of the Providence variety) went on to win in a shoot out.

However, as he's been sent down for conditioning, he can only play on the minors for two weeks before he has to move back to Boston.

Anaheim won LA Kings, and Selänne hit a 1000 point mark! And he is the 7th european to do so. Not bad eh? Now, is there anywhere a video from the goal and what happened after, since i read it was looking pretty nice :p.

Man, I was watching their game last week I want ot say it was vs SJ or Carolina and Selanne looked amazing. He's really turned his game around as he had some terrible years and his Colorado days were just embarrasing... good to see him play more like his amazing stats would suggest again. Fun to watch; and talk about a gamble paying off with that signing eh?

As for video I'm not sure but you could check the NHL.com highlights machine or maybe TSN as they usually have a decent amount of video available esp for things attatched to milestones/records/big news.

Nice result for the Bruins: 5-0 @ Ottawa

Tim Thomas made his first NHL shutout and stopped a massive 44 shots. At the other end, Ray Emery was booed by the home fans having conceeded five in this game and eight in the last game he played in - Yikes!

It's good to see Boyes getting more points too.

Poor Craig Anderson. He's been claimed by St Louis off the waivers 12 days after the Bruins had claimed him. He didn't play any games for the Buins

Hooray! The Bruins beat the Pens 3-1. We out-shot them 38-17 :-o

The Bruins have gone and acquired Brian Eklund from Tampa Bay. I guess that's to provide extra backup when Raycroft goes (making assumptions).

I saw the tape of Ossi Vaananen from Colorado snapping his leg on the end-boards a few nights ago  it is almost Joe Theisman bad... he was nearing the end boards and turned sideways at which point his skate stuck on the ice but his leg continued into the boards. He snapped both bones in his leg just around his shin needing three metal plates and like 16 screws to repair. In the replay you can see his shin make an "L" shape *shudder*.

The unreal thing is that he made his way on his own from behind the opposing net all the way back to the bench dragging his leg broken in two places without any help from anyone to get to the bench. I can only assume he was in total shock and wasn't even aware of what was going on anymore. Pretty gruesome.

Only seven weeks of the season left. Wow, it's gone quickly!

It's going to be really hectic with the fixture congestion. The Bruins are gonna have to work hard if we're to a play-off place. Hopefully we'll have some solid goaltending for the remainder of the season [/naive]

Ya know, the trade deadline will be here before we know it! I heard conflicting reports about if there was or wasn't a trade freeze during the Olympic break... it seems there was due to having a couple of weeks with GMs having nothing to do but sit in their offices pondering their rosters and their needs and there being no even minor deals announced. That could mean we get a mini-deadline deal flurry here the first few days of this week I'd guess...

As for the compressed schedule year it's going to be crazy... the team that wins the Stanley Cup this year will spend more than the next three months playing games on average every other night. It is always a huge factor but this year more than ever the winner will be the team that ends up with the least injury issues.

According to Ottawa coach Bryan Murray, Hasek won't be back in the starting team until next week at the earliest. When I first heard about the injury, I thought he was out for the season. Emery is likely to take his place although there have been suggestions Billy Thompson might be given a game or two.

The mighty Bruins play the first-placed 'Canes tonight. I'm not too optimistic

That's just not fair :( Yet again the 'Canes snatch a victory in the third. So frustrating. Nonetheless, it's a promising start by the Bruins :-k

The Pens almost did the same in their game against the Sens, scoring three goals in the final period. But the Sens held on to win 4-3.

I hear u Archie....so close again...and against the NHL leader!!!

It also seemed that the Bs played really well, at least thats what the guys from CBS said yesterday!!!....still have to read the Boston newspaper though.

Next Bs game is at home against the Trashers....a nearly must-win!!!!

Ufff!!! That was close..but...Bs WIN!!!

3-2 against the Trashers.

I was watching the game and it was a close one, but I liked the Bs. They played really good and the Trashers tied the game in the third on their FIRST shot on goal. Guess who scored??? Yes, u are right Ilya Kovalchuk!!
Raycroft was in net and did looked ok...had some real good saves in the third!! Thats good news.

Then a late PP goal from Sturm (glad he wasnt in the olympics, looks real good lately for the Bs) and assisted from Leetch and Boyes gave the Bs the final lead!!!

We are now 4 points away from the last playoff spot, but I have to say that I still dont know if I want them in the playoff or having them a good shot at a good prospect in the next draft...

Good night all!!!

Greets
