Found this site Logo Server.com and was wondering if anyone was working on a Russian file for logos?

I may look into it if I get a chunk of 'project' time this week 8-) The problem with logo server is that a lot of their logos aren't very good quality so they don't translate very well. All the sets I've done have been from logos that have started looking like this for example:

Image

Lesser sources lead to lower quality results... for icons and rinks. That is mainly why I haven't done more. If anyone has large clear logos for any leagues let me know and I'll gladly work them up for you. Especially if you are able to get large clear sources for jerseys like this one at IceJerseys of the US Olympic Jersey.

I have the logos and am in the process of converting them to PNG format, but they're not working for me, so I don't know if it's just me or if there's a problem with the files. It seems to be the team files that I'm having a problem with, as I created a Russian Superleague logo that works just fine...

First of all welcome to TBL! =D>

As for your post :-k What part of the process isn't working for you? Do you mean your graphics program is having a hard time converting them to .png or that you save them as .png but they then won't show up in your game?

If they aren't showing up it's likely a file naming issue. The easiest thing to do is to echo the name that the team uses in the titlebar on it's team roster page in the game. You may also try not using any 'custom characters' ç, œ, å for example in the names. Sometimes the game has a hard time picking them up when used in file names. We've noticed that with player cards.

If you want me to look at the files and see if I can help out just let me know.

I feel like a moron - the only problem was that I named the folder Russian Superleague instead of Russia. When I changed the name, everything worked like a charm. If everybody would be interested, I now have a complete set of Russian Superleague logos, complete with competition logo (it's in a white square because the only picture I could find was on a white background and it's a white logo with only a partially visible blue dropshadow). Also, I'm working on a Denmark pack also, but I've run into a small problem. When I'm creating logos for Rodovre and SonderjyskE, how do I input the "o with a slash" so that they filename is correct? Do I have to edit the name of the team in game, or is there a way to do these letters in the windows environment? I did find out that just "a" works for the combined "ae", but I'm drawing a blank for the "o with a slash".

EDIT: I just reread your post, looks like I'll be doing some name editing...

I've sent a PM to Devils88 who has done a ton of cards to hopefully help out on the symbols because I know he's done leagues with players with every kind of combo, I might tell you the wrong thing, especially since I'm a US guy.

As for naming, believe me I've been there. The game itself seems to use two names for many of the foreign teams, and that's how I figured out which is used in naming. ](*,) Trial and error :dunno:

As for the logos I'd love to take a look at them. If you go to the 'Home' link in the blue header bar you get to the main site. All you need to do is sign up for an account there in the left hand column. It's a different sign in than your forum account as this is for our file server system, but you can use the same name and password to make it easier to remember ;) Once you are logged in there clikc on the 'Downloads' button in the blue bar and you will see the main file listing page and in the middle at the bottom of that page it says "Submit File". Click that and it will give you a form to fill in information about your file. By clicking 'browse' you find the file on your computer you want to send. Once everything is set click the blue 'Submit File' button and it will go into pending files section and I can check it as a possible addition to the TBL server 8-)

It worked beautifully. Thanks much. For the life of me I could not get the "o with a slash" to come up. I tried everything. It's probably real simple, but I'd love to know how you did it. The copying and pasting worked like a charm. Also, I did a full set of logos for both of the United and Central Hockey Leagues (I'm a substitute teacher and no one called today, so I had a rather free day other than watching my Sabres sleepwalk through their game in person). If I get the chance tomorrow, I'll upload them for consideration...

EDIT: I forgot. I also fully completed both all the team logos for the Danish Super Best League and also did the league logo (apparently it's the Oddset Ligaen?). I guess I can upload those tomorrow and see if anyone's interested...

Other logos

Post by gbasalmon »

Sorry to keep piling on this topic, but I have yet another question. Is it possible to do logos for the teams in the "other" categories on the drop down list, such as the Swiss or Italian leagues. I found decent versions of all the Swiss logos, and I'd like to do them if possible, but I can't seem to get the directory structure right. I tried to follow the menus, so I had:

clubs/large/other/Europe/Switzerland/Swiss National A/EHC Basel

For example, of course. If anyone's tried this and succeeded, feel free to help. If it can be done, I'd like to. I'm on a roll, and running out of teams to do...

One thing I do when testing possible graphics is just to make a copy of any of the "large" logos and try renaming it to see if it you get it to show up.

Keep following the naming clues of the text that the game displays in the titlebar and I bet you can figure it out. For a new league it may be the league name that takes you a few tries so set it up with an easy name as your test logo so you know if it's your logo name or folder/league name that's wrong.
