I don't think that much, the whole NJ didn't deliver the merchandise. Kovalchuk I think was the most intense of them in that series. Is shots just didn't fiound their way into the net of that guy who's disguise in Boucher.B.Stinson wrote: Ilya Kovalchoke

Kovalchuk also played 500 minutes per game. He was pretty much useless in the Jacque Lemaire scheme of things, when you look at the big picture. Did alot of stuff (and I mean a ton) that ended up doing nothing. Skate up ice, make move, lose puck. Lather, rinse repeat. He did not fit in at all, and Lemaire had no idea what to do with him.
Devils were a mess. Crossed up between trying to play the way Kovalchuk plays his best, and make him a star...and Jacques stupid ugly system.
Notice something boys: we are heading back to offensive minded teams (Chicago, Pitt, Washington, and even Vancouver, LA,) having success. YAY!
Now..if they would only quit legislating against physical hockey, all would be good.

That's why I was unhappy to see him trade there. He can't fit in the mold there, even if they let him play the way he play, the others in the team are not use to that, so it's a completely fail.
Now people are whining that Kovalchuk is not good in playoffs and already got the reputation of a loser. I don't defend him because is one of my fav player but darn those people p***** me off, they certainly don't watch too much hockey to tell that.

Yeah, guys like you said are stupid. Was is Kovalchuk who scored game-winning-goal in World Championship's final last year?philou21 wrote:That's why I was unhappy to see him trade there. The Devils system wasn't one for Kovalchuk to play in, it would seem. He either failed to adjust to the team, the team failed to adjust to him, or both. I can't comment factually, since I never watched them play together outside of a few periods of playoff hockey. But from what I can understand, they just didn't mesh together and that doesn't sound like something I would hold over Kovalchuk's value. You put him on a team like Washington, and he'd be a dynamo.

Yeah I am sure some will find a way to spin it. Wow...they did better than the pundits were saying. Wow, all that and Alfie was hurt. Whatever..they lost, like they always do. They were not good enough, like they always are not. No excuses. Just lost to a better team. Period.
Same goes for LA, even though 1st time around, same for New Jersey, same for Colorado. Just not good enough. No excuses. No reasons...no well they did better. They lost. Period. Just like I thought they would (well save for Colorado...was really hoping they would beat the Stupid Sharkies.

The sens did lose, but if they would've continued to play the way they did in the first two peroids and not sit back they would've kept that lead and forced a game 7. However, they lost and all I can hope for is Murray resigning the shot block king "A-Train" and getting some good free agent signings.
