MTL is playing with a lot more tenacity than they showed on Sunday, but this is the Flyers series as long as Leighton does his best Bernie Parent impersonation.

And with that, it's now 2-zip Flyers.

Ouch 2 straight shutout for the Habs! They need to go out strong for their home games or they're done. They have not been used to such a defensive and they struggle with it.

I blame all the Canuck bandwagoners who decided to hitch up to the Habs. They've jinxed the team!

I was surprised that the Blackhawks went 2-0 up. I thought the Sharks were if not the best one of the best in the western conference.

Hawks goaltending is playing well. San Jose goalie is doing the Luongo. Bye bye Sharks. Thornton goes Daniel Sedin on Bolland, Nabby goes Luie on the refs. It is over. Chicago is the better team.

Everyone is whining at Philadelphia that Jacques Martin put is best line at the end of the game on a powerplay and they found that "arrogant". Come on, is there a "non-write" rule about that? In hockey you need to score goal to win, so score while you can, if it was 15-0 I would understand but 4-1.....

Now Richards, Laviolette and Carcillo are all whining about the attitude of Cammalleri and Lapierre. Flyers should not talk like that, they're like this almost all-season long, what a bunch of whiner, I thought with Crosby gone we would be rid off of this. :-D

That's just a bunch of junk and propaganda coming from the media.

I've not heard a single mention anywhere from anyone in Philadelphia about the way Montreal used it's lines (your post is the first I've heard this). And that incident with Cammalleri acting like a little girl is just some dumb thing Carcillo brought up (and Richards and Laviolette perhaps may have since commented on). Which by the way, I have also not seen any interest here regarding that incident either.

So to say Philadelphia is whining about this stuff, couldn't be farther from the truth. Speaking from what I see first-hand, the only focus has been the amazing streak the team has had to get them here. No one here, except Carcillo and maybe a couple other players, has cared one bit about some guys tongue, or the Montreal powerplay usage.

I saw it with my own eyes on TV, it's not farther from the truth. I shouldn't have put the "everyone" in my quote it's generalize too much people. :-D

Bad news for NHL: Swedish referee Markus Vinnerborg is judging in NHL/AHL (mostly AHL) next season.

Oh, maybe regular season thread should have been better.

And why he's bad?: he is only referee i hate, cause he has been referee in many international games where Finland has played, and Finland has lost most of them cause Vinnerborg has given penalties unfairly to Team Finland. And not only in Finlands games, in every game he has been weighted on other team.

Yeah, I was pretty confident he'd take it, too. And I'm glad he did - They earned it and deserve to celebrate it, and the fans deserve to see it celebrated.

Personally, I think that whole "don't touch it" thing has become more of a cliche than a superstition.

The idea should be that Chicago winning would help the NHL. Not as much as a team in New York, but it could possibly help the league build some momentum downstairs in the States. Doubtful though, as there's no major sport presence that's faltering for them to capitolize on this time. Still, I think a lot could be done by and for the league to have them win.

That being said, go Flyers!

Pfft. Just to spite my kid. Philadelphia is as big or a bigger a sports town than Chicago. They have not won since 1975 and have experienced several catastrophic losses and upsets because of one GM, and one dead goalie. If Philly loses, the town will burn.

Plus..the Hawks are young. It is not our fault they dealt with Salary Cap issues stupidly. They should have at least 3 more chances to win the cup in the next three years. Philly however, needs it now. The Hawks should have to learn and should be put in there place, just like the 14 year old boy in my house is constantly reminded of his place in the structure of my house. He cannot win. He just cannot.

I didn't notice until tonight, but a team from the last three Winter Classics has made the Stanley Cup final in that respective year.

And team of Marian Hossa has made the SC finals in the last 3 years, too.

Guess who will win this year? :-p OK, it's decided. Congrats, Philly :-D
