EHM crashes on the same date ingame / Corrupted Save File

so I just applied the latest Manimal roster update for 2011/2012, I get to choose between Manimals database and the Standard when I create a new game, but when i choose the leagues I want and press O.K, the game just crashes... Help anyone?

Just for clarification - sorry if this is a bit obvious, but i'm quite a bit useless about computer stuff - does this solution apply to my scenario:

I recently downloaded the free demo, liked it so much that i decided to purchase it. I have not altered it in any way (patches or whatever). And im using windows 7.

However my game continues to crash – as soon as the date switches between June 29th, 2007 to the next day, i get a bar that says “updating game data” – however nothing then happens (the bar shows no sign of progress), and eventually the game freezes/crashes.

Are you running v3.0.4 of the game? You mentioned you hadn't used any patches, but the v3.0.4 patch is pretty much essential. You can grab it here: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... =82&t=6627

Try applying that patch and then try simming your game. If that doesn't work, put your saved game in a ZIP file and upload it using something like Zippy Share and I'll try simming it on my copy of the game.

I tried applying that patch, but it has not seemed to work. The game will still freeze/crash on that date change while "updating game data".

I've uploaded my last saved game as a zip: regardless of if it is fixable, I very much appreciate your help with the matter!

Quick update: my problem seems to be solved. Restarted my computer, and everything seems to be fine.

You pretty much need to restart your game once you've applied the patch. The original, unpatched version of the game has a bug that will make the game basically unplayable sometime down the line, and you need to start the game after the patch has been run to avoid this bug. It's the so called Attribute Decline Bug. It will make all players lose most of their skill, so that pretty much every player in your game will lose their skills and become useless.

Thought you should know being that you were playing the game unpatched.

Glad you got it working! I did try it on my copy and it worked fine (i.e. the Updating Game Data bit worked).

As Tasku says, you should really try to get the v3.0.4 patch installed and start a new game because of the attribute bug.
