Doesn't sound good. Maybe you should retire from EHM. :-D
That's a bit harsh don't you think? :-p

I wish my body was 23, but I wouldn't want to lose the "personal growth" and go back to being 23 and have to go through it all over again...not unless somehow I could know I'd do a better job of it (it's been a slow and difficult process!)

I wish I was an elf, so that I lived for WAY longer...that way I'd be hitting adulthood soon, which often seems more appropriate for my mind/spirit HaHa

Congrats on the upcoming b-day. I just turned 44, and the youngest of my children turns 8 in January (oldest will be 16). Not really enjoying the teen years with the boy, and cringing at the coming teen years with 3 daughters. :\ 8-[

Just getting back into the game for the first time in a while. Going to try something very different and go with the 1974-1975 rosters by Nino. I think I'm going to run with the Rockies. Should be fun!

First go at this game I decided to rebuild Moncton in the QMJHL. First season was mostly a wash since I decided to rebuild the team from top to bottom while I got used to the game. The board and the fans hated me but it's going better in season 2.

We ended up dead last in the first year after selling high on veterans such as Conor Garland, Jacob Sweeney and Manuel Wiederer. We got a nice haul of young players and picks, and drafted Jared McIsaac 1st overall at the draft. I also had 1st overall at the Import Draft but screwed up by drafting a guy who wouldnt report. Then I dealt him to Val d'Or who was interested in him for a 1st round pick in the following draft.

So I'm midway through year 2 now and things are going well. I'm 2nd in the league behind the power house Rouyn-Noranda. McIsaac (16 yrs old) and Jordan Lepage (17 yrs old) are leading my defense which is good for the future. I acquired Simon Bourque (19) and he's my main horse back on the blueline. I also acquired Jullio Billia, an overage goalie who has very solid ratings. Next season, young Matt Welsh will likely be taking over the reigns.

Up front, team is led by some chap named Bradley Power, an overager who's the top goal scorer in the league right now. I got two import forwards in Klisinger and Blomqvist who are doing well, as well as guys like Mitch Balmas, Keith Getson, Cameron Askew, James Phelan and William Bower. I feel as though my team isn't top-notch but it has good players and good depth every where. I tried upgrading the defense but I don't wanna pay the asking price. Still have two 1st rounders for the next draft and I think I will keep them.

Team is looking good for the long haul with a couple nice prospects and some key prospects at every position. I just hope McIsaac will not make the NHL after getting drafted as I would like to see how he develops at 19 and how much he can produce. He is already a point-per-game dman at 16!

Sounds good, I like building up the bottom feeders too, OHL

I mostly play the North Bay Battalion, and funny thing with the database updates that ties into your foreign draft ... they created a player twice who ended up being on the Battalion in real life, Max Kislinger. They created him as well as Maximilian Klisinger ... same date of birth, hometown etc ... Must have been done a couple seasons back as they were both draftable initially, then when the database came out for the year he really joined the Battalion he was added to the team, so in the draft after my season I drafted the other guy too, like I had twins ! LOL

That is pretty funny! I got Maximilian, he had been drafted by Quebec but after I stroke out at the Import draft, I made a deal and brought him in. He's got solid ratings, and playing decent for me so far. He can play LW or RW which is good. How is he doing for you? He has 17 goals in 53 goals in my current season. I got him pencilled for a 1st-line spot next season as a 19 yrs old.

He's a C/LW as in real life.
Mediocre, progresses pretty good after a season or 2, seems about right as the real one is looking like a bust ...
I know when I did the game where I drafted the other I had them on the same third line together for awhile, did decent but no 50 pointers either one for me

After a while away from this game I found some love for my last challenge save again. :-) I have however decided to play it without rules after a few seasons in.

Playing with the Chicago Blackhawks and up at the 10/11 season now. We have won 4 straight Stanley Cup's between 2005-2008 and 3 straight President Trophy's between 2008-2010. However we have now failed to make the finals the last 2 seasons. The team is a scoring machine but my PP isn't the greatest, neither is the PK actually but I like our defense. Eric Staal is our star player, drafted first overall in my first year. Currently I have 8 drafted players on my roster, looking at 11-12 for next season. I will have to give up a couple of players as we are a bit too stacked and have some great talent coming in next year. So 2010/11 is the last season with this core before I start to change things up, hoping to return the cup to Chicago again.

Joe Pavelski - Eric Staal (1st OA in '03) - Ales Hemsky
Chris Kunitz - Matthew Lombardi - Tyler Johnson (39th in '08)
Marty Maltais (60th in '08) - Marco Sturm - Leo Komarov (30th in '05)
Marty Cherne - Steve Ott - Colin Greening (15th in '04)

Ryan Suter - Dustin Byfuglien
Alex Goligoski (19th in '03) - Chris Phillips
Jay Bouwmeester - Markus Seikola

Tim Thomas/Lars Pietropaulo (30th in '07)

Looking to move Kunitz (FA after this season) and Sturm (2 years left), who have been fantastic but has been forced down the lineup with some other players taking over their places. For next season I have Derek Stepan coming in, will probably have a taste this year but mainly in the AHL. Also Tarasenko is knocking on the door as well as Reilly Smith. Too many potential top 6 guys coming through. Thomas is gonna do his final season now, Pietropaulo has elite potential and will probably play about 50% of the games this year after dominating in the AHL last year. Also looking forward to signing Gordie Doyle for next year. He looks like a genuine top D-man, and having picked him at 33rd in 2009 I see it as a steal as he looked pretty great then already...NHL top 4 ready now!

One option is to take part in the TBL Challenge; currently they're using the Arizona Coyotes

There are some basic "house rules" that are explained here http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 74&t=17561
You input your stats quarterly, here http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/ch ... upload.php
You post a few screenshots at the end of every ingame year in this thread http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 38#p221338
And there's a "Discussion Thread" too http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 20&t=17560

It's a way of playing EHM and sharing experiences with/feeling more connected to others as you do so, and you can win "virtual trophies" too (here's the post from the last Challenge and the trophies given out...you can see in this post how the trophies show on TBL too by looking at the information listed below bruins72's avatar)

BKarchitect did so by editing the database so you could edit the database (which I suspect would not be easy/would take some time; you'd have to spend some time familiarizing yourself with archibalduk's EHM Editor) - or you could download the saved game BKarchitect provided (second post) in his "Vegas Golden Knights - The NHL's Newest Franchise" Blog http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 79#p221279

I'm back a bit into EHM. Started unemployed with the new DB and got a job with the Saskatoon blades in the WHL. Like I tried to do with North Bay in the OHL before, I'll try to land the Memorial Cup before thinking going up. Hope I'll have more success this time around even though the Blades have a pretty mediocre team. :D

Started as the Winnipeg Jets. With some additions, especially in goal, managed to win the Stanley Cup. I know, it was an unexpected surprise for me as well. My expectation was qualifying for the playoffs and maybe winning 1 round.

Now in the second season, December 2017, I'm 3rd in the conference and things look OK for now. Made some moves in defense and I'll continue to overhaul the compartment as I'm not quite content at the moment.

Going in to my third season with Boston Bruins..

17/18 1st place and SC final win vs Chicago
16/17 1st place and SC final loss vs Chicago

Marchand won the Ross and Rocket first season.. The second season i tried to have more depth, Krug won the Norris with Dougthy and Brandon Carlo on second and thrid place. This is the lineup for the upcoming season:

Marchand-Bergeron-Backes
Beleskey-Krejci-Pastrnak
Vatrano-Thornton-Drouin
Dano-Glendening-Acciari

Krug-Carlo
Zboril-Miller
Sieloff-Pech

My first season with the Saskatoon Blades is over and they were not the mediocre team I thought they were! We finished third overall in the league and second in my conference with a record of 44-21-7. We lost the conference lead at the very last game of the season to the Calgary Hitmen by 1 pts. They won and I lost in OT.

Seems like I took the team at the right moment because their manager got fired at the end of last season and I've been able to finish this high right from the start. I guess they could have wait a bit before firing their GM but I will not complain. :D

I did nothing special to the team really. I hired head-coach Peter Laviolette, he was unemployed and probably desperate, and three random assistant-coach. I traded at the start of the season to get an awesome 18 yo goalie named Jordan Hollet. Hollet was classified in the top 5 goalies of the league and he finished the season with awesome stats! In 52 games played he finished 37-10-4, GAA of 2.04, save % of .919 and 7.73 of average performance. The other addition I made was signing free agent Brogan O'Brien. With his 6.3 and 200 pounds I knew he would be my #1 center despite been overaged and losing him at the end of the season. He finished the season with 78 pts (31+47) in 72 games. I'm glad I added those two guys before the start of the season as they clearly played a huge part in the team's success.

Now we are headed to the playoffs's first round against the Regina Pats. We went 4-3-1 against them this season so it's not going to be an easy task. The team's stars quickly got shutdown and we lost the first threes games before winning the fourth one. O'brien finally woke up and win the game all by himself. We won game #5 but nobody standed out. Hollet is especially mediocre since the beginning. The comeback was most likely to fail anyway and as I expected we lost game #6. We got outshot 19 to 38 so it's pretty pathetic. Time to concentrate on the off-season.

Won regular season with Dinamo Riga in Champions Hockey league and then also won PO beating Colorado Avelanche in finals , SKA in semis and Pittsburgh Penguins in quarters. Miķelis Rēdlihs was the top scorer for whole league ahead of Gaborik, Kane, Malkin and Crosby. Now started second season after acquiring strong center Gracyov and Tereschenko during Off-season.

Second season won the Cup again, this time a little bit harder as i struggled in the first round against the Stars and beat them in the final game (4-3). Thought it will end there but i managed to beat Colorado and LA along the way and got to the final against Washington. And there the hardships started, as they went up 2-1 in the series with them winning their two games 2-1 in OT. Talk about luck... To my defense, my star line was dead tired , Laine, Ehlers and Scheifele started two fall all at the same time. So i had to improvise for a couple of games but managed to have them all back for the decisive game as i turned the series 3-2. In the final game managed to win my second cup in two years. In my opinion from all the goalies i've faced , Holtby was the hardest to beat.

Interesting additions to the roster:

Matt Murray for compensatory picks
Jakob Chychrun for Jacob Trouba as he didn't want to resign
Cal Clutterbuck
Nikolai Goldobin
Dmitry Orlov for compensatory picks
Justin Schultz

and

Torey Krug as he fell out of favor in Boston this season. He went in , Myers to the Bruins. This one i've made close to the end of the season. It proved my point as he lit up during the playoffs while Myers was mediocre at best for his team.

Now at the 2018 Draft I'm trying to unload Dustin Byfuglien for a couple of picks. Had trouble in offloading high paid defensemen: Enstrom, Byfuglien and Myers as everybody said they are overpaid. But what i've got in return took me to the playoffs. With so many changes I struggled for the first part of the second season battling for the last playoff places in my conference but in the end i've managed to climb atop by the end of the season.

I tend to roll tactics , don't favor one for a whole match or for a long while. I go for : RED PlaymOver Barrage, Line Matching, Top Grip and Dump. I tend to change them around through periods depending on how the game plays out. Also i've created a tactic which is balanced in my opinion and it doesn't tire the players a lot as the others do.

Saskatoon Blades second season's is over.

Despite loosing some key elements we finished second in our conference for a second year in a row with a record of 43-22-7.

I'm surprised that we acheived that result because I did not have any scorer like last year in term of points. Reilly Gibbons that I acquired before the start of the season was my leader in points with 60.(27+33) A bit far from the 78 pts of O'brien last year. Top scorer is also Gibbons while Koch, who lead the team last year with 37 goals only achieved 22. Jordan Hollet was nowhere near his last year performances. He finished 30-11-5 but with a GAA of 2.74 and a save % of .894. Last year he went 37-10-4, GAA of 2.04, save % of .919. Since Hollet was a bit of a liability I signed at the end of the season a pretty good 20 years old goalie to back him up or even take his place but 3 games before the end of the season he went injured for 3 weeks. ](*,)

Good news is, I had alot of recruits this year that all did well. So the futur looks bright and I have a couple of unsigned prospects that will turn 15-16 soon and they will be ready to make the jump.

Now, the freaking playoffs....we are up in the first round against my nemesis, the Regina Pats. We still had problems beating them in the regular season. We went 5-3 in 8 games vs them but it was NEVER easy wins so my hopes are not high if I look at last year's playoffs against them. We fought a good battle but we lost the serie 3-4. What I don't understand though is that my team is ALWAYS getting outshot. To counter that I put my lines on barrage and we barely gain 5-6 shots more per game and the opposite team finishes with 40+ shots and I'm always at 20-22. I understand I might create more giveaways while getting offensive but I really don't understand how they don't shoot more on barrage. That's ridiculous. Like game #7 we got outshot 34 to 20?! Seems like I'm doing this for nothing since they don't shoot more. :dunno:
