I was just browsing their website for screenshots and came across this interesting announcement regarding the game:

I am very happy to announce that I bought Logique Eclectic back. Following my departure in november 2012, I worked on the background on personal projects. I am now back full time to insure support and answer your questions. However, many things have changed. Some will please you, some won't, but our main objective is to get back to this good old active community. Let's proceed step by step.

1. Previous games:
As the old Logique Eclectic distributor closed without warning in september 2013, it is now impossible to buy or reactivate our old titles. This event forces us to abandon our previous titles. It is a sad situation, but we will try to do our best to overcome the situation, by offering you low price games over the course of the year.

2. GM Hockey Legacy 13-14:
Our first decision is to offer the 13-14 converted GM Hockey Legacy game, on January the 26th, 2014. The game will cost 20$. Still because the old distributor closed down, it won't be a free update, but a complete independant game. I have been working since last October on this update. Many bugs have been corrected, some missing content have been added and some free updates, including Fantasy Draft and the possibility to create a player with the editor will follow.

3. GM Hockey Legacy addons:
Following the 13-14 GM Hockey Legacy launch, I will start to work on addons that will allow you to be the general manager of diffirent international teams. The first two leagues we will cover are the DEL and the EBEL (Aust). Those addons will cost 15$. They should be available for download at the beginning of March.

4. New website address:
The new website address will be www.logique-eclectic.com. www.lesims.net will redirect you to this website for a while. Update your bookmark.

My first test was very sobering. Old artwork, quite buggy, crashes, no explanations, simply, old school

Has anyone put in any kind of extensive time with this game or even the previous version? I purchased the original 09 and found it to be too slow and couldn't understand how any of my decisions had an effect on game results. I'm willing to give this new one a go but i'm wondering if anyone has had time to get through a few seasons, not a few months of games. I don't need an extremely deep simulation or pretty menus as long as a few basics are in place.

Realistic/believable results from simulations
realistic and functioning leagues rules
Good AI (realistic trades, FA signings, drafts, roster, and game management from the AI)
Realistic player development and regressions

At $20 I might just purchase it but it would be nice to see a little bit of feedback.

Thanks for the feedback. Slow sim speeds are a game killer for me. I vaguely remember the original having that same problem.

I can't access it either. Looks like the domain name no longer exists. I wonder if the developer hasn't renewed his web hosting subscription.

No, it's absolutely fine seeing as it's a link to the game discussed in the thread.

I can't vouch for the reliability of the link. I'm always a little wary of cnet myself (IIRC they try to bundle anti-virus software, etc with their downloads unless you un-tick a box). If you choose download.com and direct download link under download now you will get game and nothing else LegacySetup.exe . If you use download now you get cnet downloader which will add adware programs to computer but you can choose decline and no adware.
I tested both ways and best way is choose direct download link. archibalduk links not working

Is this game still on track? How do we purchase it?

Sorry to say, this game does not seem to be supported any more. I was using the trial (15 days or 10 restarts) and every time the game crashed, I'd lose a restart. No need to tell you, I quickly ran out of game starts, well before the time trial had ended. No problem, for $20, I decided to buy it. Problem is, you can't buy it anymore. The page at softwarekey.com has the following message, "GM Hockey Legacy 4.01 License is currently out of stock or unavailable. The item has been removed from the cart.".

A shame really, this GM simulation had very interesting game-play. I am hoping cabab will see this message and confirm or deny the game is dead. Their website has not been updated since February.
