is there anyone who speaks french that is willing to give us alittle more info on GM Hockey 2009? They have english section in their forums but no one has used it....probably cause no one knows how to sign up for it, and no one knows about the game.

I wonder how accurate their stats are... Are any of you guys going to buy this game or try the demo, if there is one?

thanks that helps, but there really isn't too much activity on their forums. It doesn't look like they will have a demo...

well, GM hockey is finally out . http://lesims.net/Home.html

I tried out the demo, and although there are some good ideas, the overall interface, presentation and some bad choices make the game not worth playing (or buying) over EHM...no surprise there. What im really surprised about is that you can't change the team names or city or the pro league name in the editor; That is very dissapointing because now you have to play with the "PHL" teams and not make it the NHL. (PHL teams are same city with different names.) I also wish that you could edit the players first name. I think we discussed this earlier, how they couldn't use their first name so they used an initial but they should of allowed us to edit it.

There are some good ideas in the game but i think the bad beats out the good. However, the spelling mistakes are a vastly improved from their previous game.

Give the demo a try and share what you think about it.

I'm looking at the demo to GM Hockey right now. Not impressed. Certainly won't spend $30 on it.

Yeah, I tried it too, but had a runtime error and crash to desktop when I tried to look at Marco Sturm's player card.

Not sure if I like the cartoon-like humor very much either. I take my hockey too seriously for this game, I'm afraid.

With Regards to GM Hockey 2009,I bought the game bwcause I see potential in it,yeah some of the Default team images look a bit childish but they can be changed by downloading a image pack on a fan's site, which also gives you decent player images, yeah some of the spelling is not perfect but that is only because the developers are from France. The game does have it's positives though like adding the World Championships as well as a GM's Pool which is exactly almost like a Fantasy Hockey League within the game world where you Draft players at the start of each season, and earn points based off how your players do in the game world, and you compete with The other 29 GM's and there are rewards for finishing in the top 3 of the pool too.

The Game has potential but I agree it still needs work, but it is worth a shot.

Although they have some fantastic ideas, there are just too many things that i don't like about their game. I am not a fan of the interface, AI, realism, and complete lack of customization. I'll stop there.

Hobbit, I believe they are from Quebec, hence the reason they made it a choice to make Quebec a country (which replaces France)

All in all I for one am much happier saving my money and playing EHM or perhaps waiting for "Faceoff Hockey" or "Some Hockey Sim." I honestly don't see GM Hockey going in the "right" direction.

I have also tried out the demo and it has crashed on me several times...not that it really makes a difference for me.

On another note I wish the guy(s) making "Some Hockey Sim" would develop Wolverines game because they have alot of awesome ideas which would work great in a career sim.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed WS finds the right person because as much as i am hopeing Faceoff Hockey will be better then EHM, i am very skeptical about it.

For anyone who is interested, GM Hockey 2009 is 25% off up till Jan 22nd... http://www.lesims.net/Home.html
I don't see myself buying the game, no matter how cheap it is. EHM is still better....

I've been messing around a little with the GM Hockey 2009 and I don't really like it. I like the questions asked before you start the game, the News Feeds, and even the hot seat debate by a few different media pundits, but that's it. Other than that it's not very good.

Is it suppose to be like Inside the Park Baseball, a single playercareer mode for hockey. Sounds cool but screens look horrible and this idea just doesn't seem to workout for text sims. it's nice to see that company is trying, but i'm certainly not interesting if it's anything like GM Hockey, and i'm sure it is.

Hey guys,

I just wanted to do an update of Logique Ecletic.

They curently have 2 games releases with 1 coming out in september. The first game is GM hockey 09 but was still updated until July. Why? Because the guy who makes these game, Jean-Francois Cabana, is curently working on GM hockey Legacy. Theses games are like EHM, you control a team in the NHL and you try to be the best possible. Legacy will be the new version of GM hockey 09.

They also release an another game called Hockey Destinee released the first of july, this is different. You are controlling only 1 player. You have to control everything from sponsors, friends, coaches, kids, money, etc. The problem with Destinee, is that it's only in french :-( .

You can try a demo for both games on their website lesims.net. Go in the french section for Destinee hockey, because it's not available in english as I said previously.

Ya would be very cool for people who don't speak french! Also I fergot to add, for the games( in Hockey Destinee), it's per action. So something happens then you decide what you do in this situation.

You can also look a this, these are pictures of the game. Don't need to read just scroll down and lock at the pictures.

I have had huge problems installing even the 2009 demo... If you don't install it to the default folder set on the installer and it doesn't work you you have to re-install Windows (if I understood correctly) :dunno:

Anyone actually play this game?

If so, how do I send a player to the minors without calling one up first?

I want to say that I'm very great fan of Logique Eclectic, because J-F Cabana lives with his games. Maybe some of you thinking he sells his games too costly, but he doesn't have the choice. Finally, in GM Hockey Legacy, you will be able to control every teams between 1989 and today. Also, you will be able to moves franchises, makes extansions drafts, and much more. Gives a look on www.logiqueecletic,fr-bb.com There is a very good community and you will see that J-F doing every month update, if it is not 1 update by week, since 3 years
