Ouch, that is one hell of a bad call, i was more surprised about Nieds mishandling a puck to pretty much right in the crease
. Ducks are riding their luck at the moment. Every game of the playoffs they have been outshot. 46 to 23 last night. Bad news about Wisniewski too, brave play to block a shot but had to leave with possible lung contusion.

Bad call indeed... But then the Red Wings had 46 shots and failed on 45 of them. The ref failed once. So before anyone even think about accusing the refs: think twice.
Else, the Nucks finally managed to play a full game, and not fall asleep after a two or even a three goals lead, like they did in the first two games. If they continue to play all 60 minutes long, the Hawks have no business going anywhere past the second round.
The Bruins@Canes of tonight should be exciting. The B's have to react after their poor performance in game 2, while the Canes will look to take their first lead of the series thanks to home ice advantage.

Right, and in case the goal was scored, Nieds could have had an assistgetzlaf15 wrote:Ouch, that is one hell of a bad call, i was more surprised about Nieds mishandling a puck to pretty much right in the crease.
By the way, it looks to me that the whistle was late and blown after the puck crosses goal line...

The top line for Detroit hasn't been able to do anythin against us, 1 point from Datsyuk, 0 for Zetterberg and 0 for Hossa... Taking that many shots though doesn't say good things about their ability to beat Hiller. There should be someway to refer calls like that... Like soccer with the huge amount of mistakes ref's make, there back page news every day...Shadd666 wrote:Bad call indeed... But then the Red Wings had 46 shots and failed on 45 of them. I was surprised about the Canes. In the prediction league, i predicted a Bruin's sweep... Hope they can make it into a good series.

Well the Ducks certainly had luck on their side in that for sure, but while bad luck for Detroit, I don't think it was a bad call. According to the rules once the ref loses sight of the puck, he has to blow the whistle. The call was right, just very bad for Detroit. Game 4 should be very interesting.

I think i've previously mentionned my concerns about the Bruins ability to catch the playoff rythm after their easy demolition of Montreal... And indeed, they are not on the same pace than Carolina and struggle to elevate their game to a playoff level on a regular basis so far in this series... No offense to the Canes though, they've been excellent.
What about Gonchar being injured by Ovechkin? Pens call it cheapshot, Ovy says it's an accident and he didn't have time to avoid Gonchar... It looks like an accident, but considering how easily and fastly Ovechkin can eliminate someone with his skating abilities, i'm surprised he didn't manage to avoid Gonchar there... He proved millions of times that he can avoid a player with less time and space than what he had. I'm not making accusations, but i find this "accident" to be a bit suspicious...

From what I have read is that he was trying to hit Ginchar, but not knee on knee. Apparently some of the Pens call it a cheap shot others are saying its not, so who knows really...
All I know is I'm widdled off that I'm blacked out of the Detriot & Ducks game and its not even being played in the Ducks arena! Sure its on later, but not live, what good does that do me? I've tried local channels, VS and Fox Sports. NHL channel has it blocked out in my area.
I hope Boston can pull it off, but I highly doubt they will. Its a good thing I didn't place any bets on the outcome of the second round, I would have lost it all.

Colin Campbell is throwing darts at a board to determine discipline again. For some reason, he waived the automatic 1 game suspension that Scott Walker got for his instigator penalty in the Boston vs Carolina game Sunday night. Most people figured it was more of a question of how many games it would be in addition to the automatic 1 game. He came over and sucker-punched Aaron Ward while he was tied up with another player. It was a total cheap shot. Ward traveled with the Bruins to Carolina for Tuesdays game but might not be able to play. They're trying to determine whether or not he has a broken orbital bone. I'm just dumbfounded by this.

Why did Ward just stand there and take the shot? Ridiculous. I think when someone is grabbing your jersey, gloves off and is pulling back to pop you, you have to do something to defend yourself. Even if he had put an arm up to block the punch, this wouldn't be an issue. He is only injured because he stood there like a twit while someone punched him in the face.
Walker should be fined, not suspended.

Ward was tied up with (I forget who) another Carolina player. He got spun around and don't think he expected to get popped by Walker like that. The "fighting code" says you ask a guy if he wants to go, before dropping the gloves and swinging. That didn't happen.
Walker was fined but not suspended. Still, I think that deserved a suspension.

Capitals-Penguins game #6 Final score 5-4 for the Capitals in the first OT!
What another great hockey game we have tonight! Great open and offensive play, big hit, oustanding saves. We can't ask for more! After see the Pens take a 3-2 lead early in the third period i start to think it's might be the end for the Caps, but i just have time to blink my eye's and it's 4-3 for the Caps, but wait....Sid the Kids pull out a rabbit from is hat
And in OT Rob Scuderi it the post but seconds later the Caps go away with the victory!
One of the best game i've seen this year in the playoff, can't get my eyes away from the TV it was like

Can't wait for the game seven.

I'd rather smack a few referees and not only in the canuck chicago series. All years they call everything.... ok, fine, a ton of powerplays but at least the players know what to expect. Then comes the playoffs and you can charge, board, hit from behind, late hits, and then get sent to the box on a cheesy touch of the stick in the 3rd period when they were not even calling it early in the game. I've watched games from ALL series and it's happened in almost every game. I've never seen so many perplexed players. I love a rough, hard hitting playoff but I surely hate any series or game being decided by cheap penalty calls. And while I'm on my rant I really hate the automatic penalty for shooting the puck over the glass in your own end. Why is it only a penalty in your own end? I know it CAN be called delay of game anywhere on the ice but when is the last time it was called anywhere else. The ref pretty much can tell if the player purposly cradles and lifts the puck or if it's an unintentional whack of a rolling or flying puck. Give me a break but that and the shootout, reffing in the playoffs and Buttman are the absolute worst thing thats happened to hockey in the last 20 years.... Yep, I hate Buttman toomtsouth wrote:I think a Canuck fan would have smacked someone if they were told Robbie Lou would give up 7 goals in the deciding game.....ouch!
