Great signing for them. He will probably play with Hudler as on of his wingers. Once Hudler decides to shoot the puck more, Modano will be a great set-up man. I am definitely looking forward to seeing how many goals they can put up this season with a healthy Franzen playing 1st line minutes. I mean the guy is a point per game player in the playoffs, he will surely bag 30+ this season. Hudler will do great as well, with a renewed look at the NHL and the Red Wings.philou21 wrote:Mike Modano with the Wings is now official
Hopefully he can pick up his offensive game a little bit this year. He lost his third line center spot with the signing of Modano, but he will be one of the best fourth line centers in the game. Very solid in his defensive zone and wheels that can burn the ice, I can't wait to see how he progresses further.philou21 wrote:By the way Darren Helm sign a two years contract with the Wings.
Detroit wanted him, he wanted Detroit. They pursued him heavily since July 1st and they will provide him with a great team. It's the perfect situation to go out on top and try to win another Stanley Cup. Minnesota would have just been another playoff-less season for him.bruins72 wrote:If he wasn't going to end his career in Dallas, he should have done it in Minnesota.

Yep! Even if he's one of my fav player. I'm happy this deal was refused, time to show who's the boss now.CatchUp wrote:Kovalchuk deal overturned. This was the right call.

Thrashers has cap space also, but they have no change to be Cup contender. Isles have better change, they just need a lots of good luck and they have to pass DiPietro away. But no-one wants him. If he wants money, he should go to KHL. But that's not good advertise for NHL.
Antti Niemi hasn't good chances to be starting goalie next season. Sharks needs starting goalie, I don't think that they're going with Niittymäki whole season if they want the Cup.

Kovalchuk with Atlanta is over. If they had to sign, it would be already done before the dead-line IMO.
Bestrafer7, I talk about more of Snow than the owner. A sucky management doesn't help getting good players but maybe in two, three years, when the young boys will grown up they'll be able to get players like Kovalchuk
