Playoff Prediction League *Spoilers*

Post by archibalduk »

Announcing: The TBL Playoff Prediction League!

Following on from the fun and success of the TBL Prediction League, we've started a Playoff version of the game. This is slightly different to the way the Regular Season Prediction League worked in that you don't predict the scores of the games, you predict the score of the series (i.e. how many games each team will win in each series).

Anyone is welcome to join. Simply visit www.ehmtheblueline.com/game. If you had a user account for the previous Prediction League then you can don't have to register again - just use your login details from the last Prediction League.

The deadline to enter the first round of results is Tuesday 27th April @ 1pm UK Time (6pm EST). You may, however, join the game at any time.

Just to make it clear, you predict the outcome of the series rather than the scores of the game. For example, if you think that Carolina will win four games and Montreal will win two in the series between them then you should enter your prediction as Carolina 4 - 2 Montreal.

This is how the points are awarded:
3pts - Correctly predict the number of games both teams in the series will win.
1pt - Correctly predict who will win the series but not how many games each team will win.

I finished pretty high in the regular season, despite missing out on several rounds. :)

Hopefully I won't miss any during the playoffs. Gonna make my predictions as soon as tonight's games are over. :-p

I made my predictions now, but I don't know the results of any game since Saturday, as I've recorded them but not yet watched them.

Which may mean I predicted something impossible, but I went for nearly all series going to 6 or 7 to avoid this

As it's the nature of the beast here I added the Spoiler tag to this one as any discussion about how people are doing with their picks obviously will be about how playoff series' are going. :dunno:

I also mentioned that in the shout as well... since I saw several that were like 2-1 or 3-2 I figured somebody borked it

Minstrel is top of the table at the moment having only incorrectly predicted two of the series winners. Joe is just behind him. It's all very close at the moment as only one series has been played so it's still not too late to join in.

Fixures are up:
Ottawa v Buffalo
Carolina v New Jersey
San Jose v Edmonton
Anaheim v Colorado

The deadline is 7th May 11pm (UK time)

It's either going to be Canes in 5, Devils in 6, or Canes in 7. :dunno:
