Hockey World Championship Division 1 in Amiens/France

Post by Guerki »

Hey,

I just wanted to know, if anyone of you is interested or has seen anything of this tournament, which is taking place in France at the moment (while the other Division 1 group is playing in Tallin I think).
The german 18 year old Felix Schütz (not Schutz Image) from the Saint John Sea Dogs is one of the topscorers in this tournament, and I'm very proud, that I saw him playing at my favourite Team Erding/Germany in his junior days.

So is anybody interested in this topic?

Germany - Israel 11:2
Germany - Japan 4:0
Germany - UK 8:0

I'm eagerly waiting for the World Championships in Latvija, since finland is going to have a good team there. But im also interested in the lower division, though not really following any of the games, just checking the results. There isnt really any coverage about the lower division tournaments, atleast not in finland.

But keep us updated if you please!

Today, the austrian team got their ticket back to the first group of hockey with a 5-3 win against Poland.
So there is only only one team missing, which will join the hockey-elite in the next years championchips in Russia. Favourites for this are at the moment France, Hungary and Germany.
After the match Germany - Hungary this evening i can tell you more.

Next step done for Germany on the way to the top hockey nations.
Team Germany defeat Team Hungary 6 - 2 (0-1 / 2-1 / 4 - 0) in a close game. Four goals in seven minutes defeated a strong hungarian team, so only a draw for Germany against France is missing.
Every attacker in the german team has scored at least one goal, the best scorer is the defender Sascha Goc (I think he once played a few NHL games) with 4 goals and 5 assists out of 4 games.

More informations you can get after the game tomorrow (8 pm. MET).

It's all over. Team Germany is back in the first group after a 5-0 win against France.
34 goals in 5 games, Robert Müller had 3 shutouts in 4 games, so I think i'll call him "the Wall" now Image.

So it will be a long night for the about 1000 fans of Germany in Amiens tonight. Image

And next week we all can watch the top nations of hockey in Riga I think. Image
